I have come to notice that a lot of people think David Tennat is the 13th doctor for some reason or the 12th...he's the 10th Doctor in the series.

I think that those people might be "canonising" Peter Cushing (60s films) and Richard E Grant (webcast, Scream Of The Shalka).

atrixa Richard E grant was the doc? Huh? Sort of. It's a cartoon movie, and isn't canon. You can watch it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/webcasts/shalka/
Personally, I think it's really lovely, but some people don't like it so much. It's really spooky and funny, in my opinion, and moreover you get to hear Richard E. Grant singing. He's a damn good singer. 3nodding

I think it's scary that they're up to the tenth doctor already. There's a limit of 12 rejuvenations for a timelord (referred to in The Keeper of Traken).

Britomartis-the-Valiant I think it's scary that they're up to the tenth doctor already. There's a limit of 12 rejuvenations for a timelord (referred to in The Keeper of Traken). I know! I was a fan for rather a long time before finding that out, and I totally freaked when I found out that that there would only be thirteen incarnations, and we were on the tenth already.
I'm convinced they'll only end it at thirteen if everything is already all played out and they can't make any more episodes. If being on the thirteenth incarnation happens to coincide with the ratings being in the toilet, or the series otherwise being ready to end, then that'll be that; Thirteen will die and it will be all over.
But, otherwise, there's a world of possibilities as regards to how they could make the Doctor live past his thirteenth life.

DarkEnglishman Dark Lord M Thank you, Master of the Obvious. You try going some of the threads and you will see that some people think David Tennet is the 13 or 12 and this thread wasen't aimed at you smart alek stare Now I don't watch every single thread in here like a hawk, but as far as I can tell, nobody thinks he's 12th or 13th. I think you've misunderstood their posts.

ETA: Apparently, Stresshog read something on The Sun that implied he was fourteenth...?
