The two 'unimportant' staff members of the Musauem, the slackers, were on the road. Nara had suddenly sensed a scroll, distant and moving. The two were now driving along trying hard to catch up to the scroll. They'd pull along side cars, check, and then move on.

On an empty streach of road, Nara suddenly sat up straight and pointed dead ahead. "That one," she pointed at the only other car ahead of them. Flashing his lights at the other car, her partner waited for them to pull over.

It was a beautiful, albiet rainy, day, and the two Arrikanez brothers were on the road to their new place. The bags were packed, stuff was stowed, and there was good music on the radio that Aaron was having a good time listening - and singing - to. But there was something reflecting out of the rear-view mirror, and it was annoying the heck out of him. He turned around, and looked behind him to see lights flashing the way they did when someone wanted you to pull over. His first thought was civilian cops. Had they been speeding?

Zael didn't need any prompting. He started to pull over immediately, and coasted to a stop with the very light application of the brakes. He was confused. He had been going 70, about five miles UNDER the speed limit, so he didn't know what this was about. On the other hand, there weren't sirens or whatnot, so the only explanation - as he was sure Aaron already came to - was civis. Not good. NOT good. Although Aaron and he hadn't done anything illegal, he was still worried. What if they'd done something wrong that they didn't know about? What if they were being framed?

Regardless, both boys sat stock still once the car came to a halt. Zael put it into park, shut the lights off, and waited. The rain became less of a drizzle, and more of a downpour, and inwardly Z felt sorry for those people, if they were going to get out of that car. He mentally noted to pull his umbrella once the ticket - or whatever it was - had been taken care of, and offer it to them. They both waited for whoever that was in the other car to come and 'say hi' as it were. Neither one of them moving a muscle, the radio still playing 'Paint It Black'.

The two pulled over right behind them. With a heavy sigh, Nara stared at the rain. Biting her lip, she honestly had to wonder what this would do to the poor kid. Maybe they'd come out liquid or something. Shaking her head, she shared a look with Iian and stepped out into the downpour.

Instantly the two got soaked. Nara's cloths suddenly stuck to her still skinny frame and her partner's black hood dropped so he could barely see. The two hurried towards the car, Nara to the driver's side and her partner to the passenger.

Rubbing her hands together briskly as if she were cold Nara winced. It was in the car alright. Wel, at least it'd be dry a little longer. Nara wiped her face clear, as she gestured for the man inside to roll down the window.

Zael rolled down the window without hesitation, then - seeing they weren't officers - reached over, and handed them the umbrella he kept in the glove compartment.

"Heh.... I'd offer you clothes, but I'm not exactly stocked with female fashion."

He smiled, and looked up at them.

"Is there something I can do for you? We're just on our way to our new place, so... I don't think we've done anything wrong..."

Aaron just sat there, and didn't say a word. He wasn't really feeling all that well, and the rain was making it a trillion times worse. Dizzy. But best not to let Z know until after they got to the place. He pulled the scroll out from under his seat, and held it, inspecting it. Zael had told him to keep it from getting banged up, and it looked like it wasn't. So that was good. But he held onto it for now. Too dizzy to bend down again and put it back.

Nara sighed and pointed to that scroll. Though the woman had learned her lesson about touching the things, she couldn't help but wish she could simply grab them and run. "I'm from the Royal Library of Alexandria and we're looking for scrolls similar to that one. Can you please step out and lay it out so that we may take a quick look at it."

"Lay it out? In THIS rain?" Zael blinked, and took the scroll from Aaron. "Alright... if you say so."

He stepped out of the car and onto the side of the road, opening up the scroll, and laying it out completely unrolled. It seemed a shame to get water all over it, but if that was what the woman wanted.....

Aaron emerged from the car a few moments later, and stood by Zael, trying to cant his head to one side and read the thing.

"Z?... What's going on?"

"Hush love. I think they're professional something-or-others."

Nara smiled a tight little smile towards Zael. At least some people didn't have to fight it. Gesturing her partner towards the scroll, the two of them shuffled around a little. Though Nara had intended to include the accomadating man, as her hands suddenly turned to mist, she could barely see their placement was slightly off.

The mist, impervious to the rain, wrapped around Aaron, Iian and Nara, connecting them in a triangle. A heavy thump echoed through the storm and the mist began to recede. A child, sitting on the scroll, began to cry as the rain poured down on him.

Stumbling backwards into the road, Nara winced and rubbed her wrists.

Zael was a bit overwhelmed. The child, the woman, and Aaron all needed support, and he was only one man. But he needn't have worried about the child. Aaron ran to him, and scooped him up, sheltering him from the rain, without asking any questions at all. Although the look on his face was one of sheer bewilderment. How on earth did a child come from a scroll?

Aaron held the child tightly, and curled around him protectively.
"Shhh...shhhhshh.... It's ok... Shhhh...."
He bit his lip, and bounced the child a bit.
"Shhhh... You're ok... You'll be ok.... Daddy's here...."
Why the heck had he just called himself... daddy?

Zael watched the child and his mate, before stripping off his coat, and moving over to wrap it around the woman.
"... I don't know what just happened, and I don't think I want to. Are you ok? Are you hurt?"

Nara shrugged as her partner bristled silently. "I'll be fine a few minutes. Thank you.." She nodded at her partner. "Iian do you have a card?"

The man stayed frozen for a moment before drawing a card out of an inner pocket. Silently he held it out to Zael, shoulders tense.

Giving her partner an amused glance, Nara continued, "We are unsealing children locked away for centuries in those scrolls. You're not the first but if you need to get in touch..." She nodded at the card. "We're there.

"Al....Alright." Zael said quietly, looking over to the child. He didn't look like them... not at ALL. But... "Thank you - Thank you very much, Miss.... umm..."
He motioned as if he would like to call her by name - but he didn't know what to call her, so he wound up just scratching the back of his neck.
"Thank you."

Aaron was still bouncing the baby boy gently, and started to bundle him into the car. Something in him knew that this child was HIS now. As surely as he knew the sun would set come the morning. He settled the boy down, and wrapped him in a blanket for the ride home, climbing into the car with him, and holding him.

"Nara," the woman filled in for him. Taking a deep breath she straightened and handed the coat back. "My partner Iian." She shrugged, a little disconcerted by the thanks.

Smiling uneasily, the relic backed towards the car. "Bye now..." With that the two headed back through the rain and into the dry safety of the car. Quickly Iian started the car and pulled out roughly onto the road. Pressing on the gas, the car sped off.
