I think I may have done this already at some point, but it was so incredibly long ago and so many new people have joined that I dont care. ninja ninja

How have people around you reacted to your Twilight addiction? Family? Friends?

Or, if you carry it in school, how to people react if they see it on your desk, or if you're caught reading?

Just curious.

Because I got hell for mine. The most annoying person on the planet -- yes, try to argue all you want, but he is the most annoying person in MY world -- always asked how many times I had read it. And then he would pick it up and read it with drama and obnoxious voices. And he always, inevitably, 100% of the time picked a slow part where they were talking about fish.

He also once picked it up, carried it over to another guy in the class I liked and told him it was mine, I was obsessed with it, and that it was erotica.

Dont ask what erotica is. Okay. If you dont know, you shouldnt yet. All I know is after that experience, I had to define erotica for all my friends.

Anywho. Alisox likes to rant at 1 45 am! How do the people around you react when you read Twilight or mention something in it?

My family thinks I'm freak! But they already knew that of course. Plus, my family is made up of nothing but males, and me. So they don't understand at all. Like it's some sort of scary girl phase I'm going through. rolleyes

Most of my girl friends have a Twilight addiction as well. I'm in good company with them.

There are these really insane preppy girls who think I'm their friend, but they only like me because of some of the guys I hang out with. Anyway, they were interested in the books I was bring to school everyday and read the back. Their reaction: 'OH. So you're into THAT.' They thought I was going through some gothic vampire obsession or something. So of couse I HAD to start wearing black and overdid the eyeliner. The looks they started giving me was so funny! Then Daddy caught me looking like that on the way to school and made me change. Still, it was funny while it lasted. xd

And erotica, hmm? *gigglesnot*

Everybody already thinks I'm weird, so when I started getting hooked on Twilight, it was pretty much the same. I get exicted about books a lot. sweatdrop My family is just, "Oh crap, Kay is going to drive us crazy about this one too. *sigh* " My close friends? We're all on the same page as far as Twilight is concerned. Everyone else? They're like *reads back and raises eyebrow/shrug*

I don't allow my parents a chance to read the blurb on my books. My father would tease me about it, no doubt, because I've always been anti-romance.

People at school don't think much of it. They just say, "Wow, that's a big book." I have a friend who is addicted though. :3 One guy did take Twilight from me once and dangled it high above me. I think I left a tiny scar on his arm. X33;; Now he whispers to people when I pass by with it under my arm, but whatever. XD

Well, practically everyone I know react the same..

Eveytime I mention anything that's related to the Twilight series or if they say something, and it reminds me of the Twilight series, and I go all dreamy..

Each and every single one of them roll their eyes, or sigh, and say, "oh god. there she goes dreaming about Twilight again"..

Oh, and there's this one friend who I ALWAYS, ALWAYS talk to about the Twilight series..

And everytime I come up to her, she says, "Anything more about that book? Has the 194873th book of the series come out yet?"

But she really shouldn't have said that because even if I wasn't planning on talking to her about Twilight, she reminds me about it and then I start blabbing about it again. =="

HER FAULT! ><

Pssh, people think I'm weird for just reading. They could care less what I was reading.

I've I've tryng to get my friend to read Twilight for forever now. Most don't like reading. The rest see either vampire or romance and decide it's not for them. I did get my English teahcer, my sister, and my mom to read it though. I wish I hadn't gotten my mother to read it. -_-

Well my cousin thinks I'm insane when I talk about New Moon and Twilight (I never got to read Eclipse yet sad ) but ya every time I say something about it he's like "oh my sheesh kabob b'y" and I don't really pay attention I just continue on with what I'm talking about.

Ditto.
But I don't really obsess about the books and talk about it all the time. My parents know I read the books because they had to spend $75 to get them for me but they have no idea what it's about.
At school I did get a few of my friends reading the books and we occasionally have discussions about it but nothing too intense and it's only once in a while confused

OMG! You're so lucky to talk to someone about it! Especially since they'd actually KNOW what you're talking about !
I kinda wish my school had a thing for the Twilight series, but sometimes I'm glad I'm the only who's read it..

There's probably only 3 more people in my school who's read Twilight, and that's my sister's friends. That's how I got introduced to the book! ><

Most people that I've read the book around, have been reading the books as well.

'Cept for me Mum, me and a friend read her over half of New Moon, and now she doesn't want to read Twilight. She wants to start reading Eclipse.

Most of my girl friends have either already read it or got hooked on it after I forced them to read the first three chapters. I even got a nguy friend at school hooked on it, too. rofl Other than that, it is mostly just raised eyebrows and "so this is th ebook of the day"'s all around.
My favorite statement was after I had spent a week reading all three of the books back to back. I ha moved on to a Phantom of the Opera when someone saw what I was reading and went, "Finally your reading about something besides vampires." I happened to have not read any other vampire books in half a year, so it was an entertaining coment.

OOH! And also, I've talked about the Twilight series so much that my friend, who has only read books that we HAVE to read for school, wants to read it. xd

She wanted to borrow my copy but I admitted to her that I have separation issues. ><
So I'm desperately trying to borrow it from the library for her.

I can't even let my sister read the book when she even LIVES in the same house as me and I can check what she doing with it every hour.

Definitely Separation Issues.
