"Yeah Yeah Yeahs are a Grammy Award-nominated New York City-based rock band. The band members are lead singer Karen O, drummer Brian Chase, and guitarist Nick Zinner. Their music is a mix of retro styles with heavy rock/punk guitars, synthetic sounds with rhythmic, melodic and bluesy vocals. They formed in 2000 as a trio, and were joined by second guitarist Imaad Wasif in 2006 for touring purposes. According to an interview that aired during the ABC network's Live from Central Park Summerstage series, the band's name was taken from modern New York City vernacular. Some insist, however, that the name Yeah Yeah Yeahs is a reference to Bikini Kill's LP split with Huggy Bear titled Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah[2].[citation needed] Yeah Yeah Yeahs have so far made two studio albums. The second, Show Your Bones, was released in 2006 and voted the second best album of the year by NME magazine"- Wikipedia.
