Hey there! I've got a little need for understanding the value of things here on gaia... When I use to run the ATC in the past, I last had the entrance fee of 525g.
Now I'm being told (so far by 1 gaian) that it's not a good price (not that they said why) and no wonder no one's joining up.
Well, I didn't want to discourage gaians from having fun with this event. So if it's too high of a price, could you guys let me know? What is the general admission fee for contests these days?
Also... anyone interested in helping out judging the next event (If you're not going to join that is) please hit me up! heart

Hmmm.... Cogz talking to herself again here....
I did just do the math. And it's logical that this is a cheap price for me to have as the entrance fee if the prize item is valued at 11,000g.
Or am I just bonkers?
525g x 10 entrees = 5250g
So, 11,000 - 5250= 5750
Plus, I have the judges to pay. So that's 5750 gold PLUS judges fees that I'm spending out of pocket.
........ Why am I so confused with how this is not a good entrance rate?

JADE_Q My friend Ghetto Mistress has 2 contests, a 2 way contest which costs 600G and a 10 way contest which costs 250G But what is the prize value?
Cuz based on this example, the ATC entrance fee is outrageously high! And I can see why gaians are discouraged to enter.

i don't think there is any problem with the cost of the entry fee especially with the prize value. but now-a-days, it takes forever for most contests to fill up. people are too busy with tektek crap. XP
i'd say give it a few days, then maybe consider lowering the entry fee.

I think it's a very reasonable price, considering the prize. I've seen contest fees from free to 2,000 gold. && I would wait if I were you, things take time to fill up nowadays. I'm working in a free contest, which a good prize, and it took forever to fill up the slots.

I shall definitely be patient. Thank you for guys for the suggestion.
I guess I'm just afraid of deterring gaians from playing cuz I've been "out of the game" for so long and don't understand the value of things completely anymore.
What do you guys think would be a reasonable entrance fee for this kind of contest? Any suggestions for marketing the event?
I use to be able to hold one of these each month and have no problem getting contestants. But I guess with my absence, it's hard for others to even know it's back. redface

You know what would be nice? If AT could have a couple of it's own sub-forums. For Tekers and for other contests. ^^
That'd be nice. *nods*
