Okay, so we have often discussed banning members who do not participate actively. I have made a list of all the people who have never posted and it's a big number. . . 45. That's more than half the guild. Here are a few opinion questions for you.
1. Do we really want to cut our numbers (even if they are hollow numbers) so drastically?
2. Should members who have donated gold but not posted be included in this rule?
3. How often should a guild member be posting to be considered active?
4. How can we boost participation in the guild?

yes!! we should cut our hollow numbers
those who have donated shouldnt be cut if its over 500 gold
at least once a month should be considered active for posts
and i have no answers for your last one there.......... but this is just my opinion

Yeah, that's my thoughts pretty closely, although there is at least one member who has donated 200 gold and doesn't participate.

2. they should not be if it's 500 or more *200 is chump change*
3. i think atleast once every two weeks...unless they've gone on vacation and given notice

Alright, we have made a decision. All non-active members (excepting those who joined in the past 30 days) will be sent a warning that tells them they have one week to post or they will be banned. All guild members who have joined in the past 30 days and have not posted will be sent a notification warning them of our policy and encouraging them to post before next month's purge. Our intention is to do a monthly or bi-monthly (depending on the rate of new members incoming) purge. Because we are still a small guild, posting at least once a month will be enough to keep their "active" status and prevent banning. This may change at a later date, or with enough vocalizations on the part of the guild members. We are keeping record of member join dates, so new members will not immediately be banned for having no posts. Also, members who have not signed into Gaia for the past 30 days will be banned immediately on the grounds that if they have not already been back on Gaia, they're probably not coming back to play in the guild. Being banned does not prevent users from joining in the future. They be able to re-apply to join at any time. After all, we aren't banning people to be exclusive, only to sort out those who really have no interest in participating in the guild. Thank you all for your input!

I haven't cut anyone yet, and I' won't do it without warning people first since its possible they jsut forgot about the guild. No worries, and if people aren't going to be around much, We'll have to make a thread where they can post or they can send me a message and I won't put them on the to-be-banned list.

I lke the idea of banning everyone who doesn't post once a month or more... but yeah. Sending out warnings would be a good idea for people like me. Ha. I'm forgetful. mrgreen
Oh, and about the people who have donated...
I'd suggest just doing the same thing for them, but giving them a few weeks to reply instead of one.
