Ok. So, I'm going to college soon and my dorm room isn't very close to my classes. That set me to think, what happens if it rains? And further more, what kind of lolita rain assecories are there? So this little topic sprung forth into life. heart
Have any good sites for umbrellas, golashes (correct spelling?) or raincoats in the more lolita side of life? Please post or just chat about playing in the rain (although I would hope you wouldn't go playing in your lolita wear! eek )

Platform shoes are GREAT for rain, and rain puddles. Especially platform boots- no water will get in your open shoe. >w< http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrtsZ50QQsassZlingQ5flam2005 has great, cheap, shoes. I also saw some really cute, pink goulashes (correct spelling) with white hearts. But that was a long time ago, and I don't remember where. XD I do know that Baby parasols can be used in rain, as well. But if you close it while completely soaked, whatever print it has will transfer to other spots of the parasol. It's easily avoided. And really- if you're thinking that brand is too much- You know those really crappy-looking, totally lace parasols? Those run $25+tax. Baby parasols are only about $35-$40, look great, and can be used in rain or sun. It's really worth it.

I found a rain jacket/light trench coat last winter that isn't lolita, but would fit over most lolita skirts. It has kick pleats sewn in from the waist down to make a really full "skirt". Maybe you could find something like that to protect your dresses, and then buy a nice umbrella/parasol like C a t h a r s i s suggested to protect your hair?

For like, the cute little girl look, I think a peacoat would look cute. ^-^
Otherwise, I really love the type of jackets that BABY and Mary Magdalene makes.

Peacoat is also good for cooler weather! Especially snowy weather--something about a baby pink pea coat and white scarf just screams adorable to me. D'oh. Maybe I'll be able to afford that come winter? ... I do need a new coat. Hm.
I'll see if I can hunt down a photo for you of the jacket online. Houston is too warm for me to wear it around during summer, so I left it in Missouri with most of my other jackets.

Houston's weather sucks unless it's January, then it's not bad. You get lots of clear days and tolerable humidity instead of the insta-sticky feeling that exists the rest of the time.
This summer has been hell. There have been maybe ten days of sun throughout the whole summer, and I've had to work every single one of them. =/
I'm almost as pale as when I left Missouri for crying out loud. No luck on finding a picture yet, by the way. Hunting eBay and online retailers at the moment.
[edit]: I'm amazed, but I found one almost just like it. Kick Pleat Trench Coat - Mine is in khaki, but that's pretty much identical to it. It has the full-circle skirt hemline, thick sash at the waist, and double-breasted lapels. :3

Cute cute~ I'm going shopping tommorow, so i'll definantly keep an eye open. Only problem is that it's school time, so not a lot of winter wear. XP
I'm sorry Boco. >.<; The humidty is awful here in Atlanta. It had been raining almost everyday until August hit and now it's stopped. And it's dreadul!!

ok, so I started to get bugged by the fact that I really didn't come across any fashionable raincoats. So I went on F+F and asked if they had any materials that were waterproof. They told me about 3 materials that they use that are waterproof. 1. polyester micro suede used in this costume, looks like trench coat material2. fake leather (has the most colors) 3. PVC they can make any of their coats out of these materials but it may cost a bit extra. This was about as close as I could get to a lolita raincoat.

Mmmm, I believe there's some kind of spray that you put on your clothes that will make them waterproof. Probably not 100% waterproof, but probably good enough. PVS and fake leather are certainly not going to keep you warm in cold weather. D:

That would be a problem in the cold weather, yeah--but spring time wouldn't be too bad? Or maybe you could request that the coat be lined in a warmer material than the usual satin/silk/whatever? Dunno.

yea, you can use that as the material for a coat that's already fully lined with something warm. I wasn't really thinking about the cold though, just the wet. I'd just get a regular wool coat for the cold, not waterproof but warm (not many of my winter coats were really waterproof but I never got real wet in the winter). I once used this stuff to waterproof my boots and it distorted the color a lot but they were real leather so I don't know how it is on other fabrics.
