Tukutu skirted the lands that Mafa claimed for the pack, doing his normal patrol of the lands. His green eyes came across bits of movement here or there, but they turned out to be either things blowing in the breeze or a rat scurrying it's way across the ground to a different pile of bones. Boooring. Since they had seemed to take over a lot of the Graveyard lands, there really wasn't much to do. He might have to talk to Mafa about that.

If she even bothered to give him time anymore.

With a swish of his tail, he stopped for a moment. Ugh, he didn't want to think about her. Stupid females, what good were they anyway?

Kailasa was bored.. Very, very bored. She had slightly explored these darkened lands before, stepping over their many bones and vile little creatures that ran around, watching everything with a very close silver eye. Her.. Well.. Not quite friend... But.. Other hyena that she had met had literally led her all around the Graveyard, as she insisted on following him. So, she had started to sketch a map of it in her head, just so she knew where to go and not to go.

Still though, when she was by herself in this place, she was very lonely.. And slightly frightened. She wasn't used to the dark.. Or the evilness of things all around her. She had been raised around good and kindness. So then.. Why, oh why... Did she seek out the leader of this place? Why did she want to join this place's pack?

It was purely absurd.

"Eh?" Tukutu's ear flicked as he did a double take. He saw movement, one that wasn't common in this area of the lands, and decided to investigate. It wasn't like the stupid scouts of the pack were very good at it anyway. His tail popped up as he trotted over to the stranger, and quite a stranger she was; her colours were just a bit more blue-grey then the normal hyena. Hmmm.

"C'n ah help ya'?" he asked, hoping that she wouldn't be hostile. That whole....fight or flight thing. Hopefully out of those two choices....she'd freeze. Then Tuk could try to wean a little information about her. Hey, maybe if he mentioned to Mafa that he'd got another member, she'd give him even the slightest bit of attention to him, and not to her stupid pup. Stupid, only because it wasn't his.

Indeed, the female hyena froze suddenly as she wasn't expecting any other hyenas to pop up out of nowhere, nor expecting a voice to say anything. However, she realized that this male seemed to of meant no harm to her, so she moved, as well as breathed again, smiling at him, regardless of him being a total stranger to her.

"Hello there." she chirped up happily. "I'm looking for the leader of the pack that resides here. Do you know where he or she is by any chance?"

She was already sounding extremely happy and cheery, not like any of the hyenas around here would normally sound. She knew how they all seemed to be, just by meeting Neus. Still, she was determined to make them all a little bit more... Cheerful themselves, even if it meant going against what she believed in.

Tukutu was a bit taken aback with the sudden summon call for Mafa. So she wanted to join, eh? Well, he would make sure to take all the credit! He sat his little rumb down, giving his side a scratch before replying to her. Aaaah, that felt good...

"So ya wanna join, eh?" he mentioned casually, though on the inside he was all nerves. Yesss! Mafa had to like him again for helping to strengthen her ranks. "Simple enough, simple enough." He nodded to himself, as if he knew it already. Which was very far from the truth, as anyone who really knew Tuk would know that he was a complete idiot who followed his leader....well, mostly blindly.

Kailasa nodded her head happily, her stance taking a sitting position as well. She was making sure to watch this strange male hyena well, but was also making herself look innocent and slightly scared.

"By the way, my name is Kailasa. You can call me Kai though, if it's easier for you. What's your name?"

Ooooo.. That looked so niiiice. Just watching the darker grey male scratch himself made the sides of her body tingle with the urge to itch itself. Her foot began to stomp on the ground some, but she did her best to control it and let it just sit there, her silver eyes still watching the other hyena.

Tukutu's tail flopped a bit in the dirt, shifting some of it to the air. Since there wasn't a breeze anywhere nearby, it seemed to curl around Tuk in an odd way, taking it's tine in settling back to the dead earth. His green eyes watched the other curiously, but he didn't seem too worried. Or to care all that much either.

"Tukutu," he mentioned, not picking up a hint for a nickname. But it wasn't like he would listen to a nickname either, so all was well in his little world. "Kai, then. Easy enough. Well den, yer 'ere. I'll letcha in, ah'm standin' consort to our pack le'deh, Mafa. Mayhaps I give ya a bit more info before I kick ya off to the pack." He gave himself another scratch, obviously stalling in what he was going to mention. He probably just wanted a little attenion, and since she was giving it to him, he'd push his luck, and see if he could get her to request things from him. Ohohoho.

"Mafa? Never heard of her.. But I guess that comes to no surprise of myself. I'm from out there, somewhere. I have family, but I've chosen to leave them.. And try to make something of myself. I guess joining this pack would be a good start, right?"

So far, everything was good. However, she suddenly broke when her back leg reared up and scratched her side, making her face break out into a sigh of relief. She was sure it was fleas instead of just the urge to scratch, but who knew, right?

"Kick me off to the pack? What do you mean by that?" Now a look of worry was on her face. Was she going to get eaten? "And more info? Is.. Mafa bad, or something?"

Tukutu roared with laughter when he saw the worryful look on the female's face. He couldn't help but laugh, since she had taken what he said so seriously. "Nah, dey wouldn't do that." He gave himself a moment to catch his breath again and let his sides stop aching so much. Oooh, he hadn't had a laugh like that in ages!

"Mafa's a rough 'un, but she'll like ya if yer tough." He shook a bit of dirt off his tail before continuing. "Or yer willin' to learn, anywho. Ahnd ah was jest makin' fun of ya, most of the pack is prettah nice, 'slong as ya dun let 'em get undah yer skin." He was mentally going through the members, or well, the ones that he knew better then the ones he'd just seen, and most were a good lot. Yeah, he thought, if a bit dim they were good, as he nodded to himself.

"Oh.. Umm.. Alright. Hehehe.." She nervously chuckled a bit, trying to get the joke that the male had thrown at her, but she didn't find it as funny as he seemed to. She didn't want to get eaten by another hyena! That was so cruel and mean!

"So.. Tukutu, what's Mafa like? Is she really mean..? Or.. Is she mean, but really nice when you get to know her? I don't want to make her mad in an instant by doing or saying the wrong thing."

Kai suddenly sneezed, the still dust in the air starting to bother her. She was used to fresh winds that blew around all the time, so this dust just floating in the air was making her nose itch more than it ever had. Man... It would take a lot of getting used to this place.

"Aaaah," Tukutu mused to himself, thinking about how to describe Mafa. He didn't want to scare this new recruit away, but he didn't want to lie to her either. What to do, what to do...

"Mafa c'n be ah little rough..." he started out, picking his words carefully. He really only thought this hard if it was about Mafa. "But she keeps 'er best int'rests in da pack." He gave her a reassuring now before continuing. "Jus' be sure to treat 'er with respect and ye'll do jest fine."

He got up off his rump, shook himself a bit so his legs wouldn't look quite so dirty, and gave her another quick nod. "Should ah assume yew know the way around?" He wasn't sure if she'd been through here before, but it wouldn't hurt to tell her where most of the pack stayed.

"A little rough.. Show respect.. Got it.." she mumbled to herself, taking mental notes of what Tukutu was saying. He seemed to know her well, she so figured that what ever he said must of been true about her.

"Well, I know my way around.. A little bit.. But not entirely. Do you think you'll still be able to show me where things are?" She did indeed know, but as this male seemed pretty knowledgeable in the ways of the pack and their leader, she figured that he would be a good hyena to have to show her around the place, just one more time.

Getting up as well, she shook herself, dust flying off of her and into every direction. She could of sworn that she even saw a bug or two jump off of her. How disgusting! Why did she choose this place to make friends..? Was it in her blood? She knew her mother had some problems in her past, but Kai was sweet and caring, very unlike her mother's past self. So then, why would bad blood from her mother's side be coming out of her like this? Why not one of her sisters? She didn't know... And time would only tell.

"Tukutu, can you tell me some of the history of the Graveyard?"

Tukutu had started to walk to the heart of the graveyard, where the majority of the pack lived. Well, if you could call it living; most of them ate where they found food, and spelt wherever they wanted. The only one that really had a home was Mafa, and it only became that when everyone needed a place to find her if she was needed.

"Eh?" he asked, turning around to catch the quetion. "'Istiry? Well...not much, realleh. Scar, who 'as a lion, used to live 'ere, though I never met 'em. Mafa and I met each other when we were jus' pups, abandoned 'ere. She was taken' in my a 'yena named Banzai, but after he disappered, Mafa wasn't the same. She grew up strong, and had me help find hyenas for a pack." He continued to walk on at this point, assuming she'd follow him.

"Den a pack of lions came in and tried to claim de place, and Mafa wouldn't have that. We kept the 'eart of the graveyard, and they stayed out, mostly. Dunno what 'appened, but most of 'em left, so there isn't much goin' on lately. Ah can tell it bugs Mafa, since she wanted to kick 'em out on her own accord, but eh, what else is there ta do?" He continued to walk, able to see the large elephant skull that Mafa normally called home. It seemed abandoned today, so perhaps she had left to go out scouting or something.

Kailasa walked next to Tukutu, listening closely to his story. It seemed that this place had more history to it than she had originally thought it did. It also sounded like Mafa, the leader of the entire Graveyard, did her best to keep the pack together, but was struggling with the matter. This made Kai very sad and concerned. This pack was slowly dying away.. And if it died away completely, it sounded like the lions would come back and take the area back over.

"Lions.. Why would they want to take the Graveyard from you guys? I mean.. They have all that other land to live and thrive on, right? So, why take this from you guys too? I don't understand..."

She loved lions, and they generally loved her back. So, why would some lions be so heartless as to take land that wasn't theirs? It didn't make sense to her... And it made her mind start to think differently about them.

She looked up and saw a giant elephant skull, it seeming big enough for maybe two packs to live in comfortably. She didn't think an elephant that size ever existed, but here it was, its skull. So, it must of existed at one time. It was very impressive, so say in the very least.

"Who knows," he mentioned casually. His own stand on lions was a neutral one, not caring that they were around or not, so long as he had a place to sleep and food in his stomache. He dismissed the concerns of the other hyena quite quickly though. "Nothin' ta worry about, we're still ah big pack 'n all, and Mafa's a strong 'un." He was sure that she'd realize it soon enough, anyway.

"She's normall in this 'ere skull, but ah dun see her 'ere today. Perhaps she's out checkin' the border 'r somethin'." He brushed it off again, though it stung him a bit more. As long as Rasuli was doing his job too, he would try to forget about it. A little jealousy was held at the male in his heart, but what could he do about it? Nothing. So nothing was just what he was going to do. "Ah'm sure she'll pop back in later in the day."
