Just saw it a few days ago I absoloutly love it ^_^ Apart from the fabulous songs and dancing etc, its reallly size positive smile
For those who haven't seen it its about a cubby girl called Tracy who wants to dance on a TV show! Its set in the 60's and features John Travolta in drag, hehehe. I really reccomend going to see it! It has a fab cast.
So who's seen it? smile What did ya think?

Walken is one of my idles, I might go see it, but I already have the misfortune of being made fun of at every turn, but it looks so fun and giddy, why must I be insecure! Walken and Travolta... damn, that's gotta be funny.

Heh, it was an ok movie. Very fun and active, but it wasn't super-amazing-fun-tastic in my opinion. (Sin City takes that place =D ).
Walken always makes me laugh though, he just seems so evil to me even when he plays the happy father/husband.
Oh the Baltimore Accent btw. Travolta just couldn't nail it down. sweatdrop Nice try from him though, it is kinda difficult.

I saw the movie and liked it, but the musical and orginal is so much better. I saw the musical three times and when it comes to my high school it will be a fourth. I want to be in that musical more then anything, but this movie just made it hard for me for all these little girls are going to want to be Tracy. ;.; Me upset.

It reminds me alot of the Producers to be honest, I caught the movie too late on and missed it onstage. Hairspray however isn't on the West End yet! smile It opens in October, I think I'm gonna try and get down there to see it! Alas, I've got a list as long as my arm for shows I wanna see ^^;;

I saw it. It was cool, but there was no need to involve Jon Travolta in a fat suit. His voice sounded like that monty python obvious-man-in-drag-as-an-old-lady-falsetto with just a touch of Caro Channing.
That said, gooooood morning Bal-tim-ore! =D

I liked Travolta for the most part, my friend and I would look at each other and squeal about him and Walken "THEY'RE SO CUUUUTE/HE'S SUCH A CUTE LADY/AWW, THEY'RE PICKING ON HER!" the entire movie.
All he did was slightly raise his voice, it didn't sound like Monty Python to me at all, imho. But I've got a deeper voice for a girl, so his not being much deeper than mine probably makes me biased. When I listen to the soundtrack it's easier for me to be like "Augh, he's such a man!" but I was actually pretty convinced in the movie. And he sounds much more feminine than (I'm sorry, I don't know his name and I'm too lazy to look it up) the first guy who played Edna on Broadway... that guy sounded like Bev Bighead (from Rocko's Modern Life, as so many people seem to forget that character). And he sounded about as convincing as Divine... he just looked more feminine because Divine wasn't wearing a fatsuit >>; I wonder if he was even wearing fake boobs sweatdrop
I think he shouldn't have bothered trying to do the Baltimore accent, though.
Also, in some scenes his man-hands would ruin the illusion for minutes at a time :/
I can't help but to smile when I see this:

Priceless.

Being british I couldn't tell a baltimore accent from any other american one.
