Leaving Flourish & Blotts, Sira walked quickly behind her parents, trying to catch up, already carrying some books, parchment and quills. It wasn't her first time in Diagon Alley, but now she saw it with different eyes. And tired arms, too; it was a shame she wasn't getting a brand new cauldron, otherwise she could've just dropped the books in there to carry them easily.
As the three of them passed by Magical Menagerie, Sira thought back on the day she got her cat, Roanoak, and immediatly thought of the mischief he could be up to in their house, semi-all by himself. Hopefully the portraits would keep him in order... although she knew very well that it would take much more than that to keep Nook from having its way with her mother's flowers.

"Well, we can pick now, dear", said Sitara, looking at her daughter "do you want to get your wand now, or get measured for your clothes first?"
It wasn't really a hard choice for her. The excitement of standing still while a woman surrounded her with measuring tape paled in comparision to acquiring that 'thing' that would be her best friend for the following years - no offense to Roanoak.

"To Ollivanders!", she exclaimed, sounding a bit more theatrical than she had intended.

((ooc: By all means! ^_^))

They reached the door of Ollivander's shop. Through the window, she could see a salesclerk rearranging the wands on the display.

As she entered the prestigious shop, Sira looked around. There were piles of neatly arranged boxes everywhere, and nearly touched the ceiling. They towered over her, and for a while she had the impression they were going to fall but she quickly dismissed it as just a trick of the light.

Once her fascination with the boxes was gone, Sira realized her parents were already speaking to Mr. Ollivander.
"Mrs. Wyrdstalker, how good it is to see you", he said, shaking her hand. "And Amun", he added, nodding his head.
Then his head turned to Sira, as he rubbed his hands. It would have been a creepy scenario, in that poorly lit shop, was it not for the fact that Mr. Ollivander simply didn't look creepy at all.
"I believe you are the one looking for a wand", he said.

Sira nodded and approached him, as he looked attentively at her, examining her eyes, and then her hands.

"Maybe it would be helpful for you to know which wood and cores you used in your wands, Mr. Ollivander", said Sira's father.
"Not at all!", he replied. "I remember perfectly well. 14” Birch and 11½” Maple, both with unicorn hair core. Although Mrs. Wyrdstalker's was somewhat thicker. Now you, my dear... oh, I think I know what might fit... just right."

He called the salesclerk and said something to him, pointing in the direction of the shelves out back. As Sira watched him disappear amongst the high shelves behind the counter, she looked around, wondering what wand would she get, and if it would resemble her parents'.

After a short while, the salesclerk reappeared carrying three boxes with him, and handed them to Ollivander.
He placed them on the counter and opened them. Two of the wands were of a brownish red, and the third one was a very pale brown.

Her tight ponytail wagged slightly as Margaret made her way down Diagon Alley, a long list full of assignments in one hand, a neat paperbag full of books and small packages of potions ingredients in the other.
Free from her aunt, who was slurping long glasses drinks in the Leaky Cauldron, she could finally do some minor shopping, which were otherwise dismissed as "unnecessary".
Studying her own neat handwriting, she nodded slightly and walked up to the anicent and very dusty looking wandshop, pushed the door open, and stepped in.

The aura of gloom and dirt came back to Margaret at once, and she felt herself scorn unwillingly. The dust made her nose prickle, and she pushed away a desire to sneeze. Gazing around the small room, she noticed the other people for the first time. It seemed to be a family, speaking to Ollivander.
Not to keen on the idea to have to spend more time in the shop then neccecary, she sighed.

Even though she seemed somewhat absorbed with her wand picking, as she heard the door of the shop open, Sira looked back.
There was a girl at the door, who seemed somewhat older. Sira nodded politely and turned back to the counter.

Mr. Ollivander pointed at the box on her right, the one with the lighter-colored wand.
"Maple, and unicorn hair. Same as your mother, except a bit longer. I'd advise you to try that one first."

Sira picked it up and, rather nervously, shook it around.
From the tip of the wand a couple of pale yellow sparks came out, and, excited, Sira waved it again, but quickly those flickers died out and just dissolved in the air. She kept shaking it for some more to come out, but it seemed helpless, really.
Disappointed, she placed it in its box.
"I don't think this is the right one for me", she asserted, looking at Ollivander.

"It's fine, dear, just fine. Perhaps one of these two? Both mahogany, lovely wood", he replied, taking out the wand from the box in the middle, and placing it on her hand. "Here, try it."

It was a short wand, Sira mused, as she turned it around on her hands. Or at least, shorter than the ones she usually saw. And that wasn't the only difference: most wands were usually polished, embellished with swirls or embossed vines. This one was rough, almost like an actual tree twig that hadn't even been sanded, apart from its hilt, which was smooth and pleasant to the touch, with one detail that caught her eye: a single engraved shape, that seemed to be a solid with triangular-shaped faces.

"It's an icosa...hedron?" said Amun over her daughter's shoulder, somewhat unsure. "Twenty faces, right? What a... curious design to put on a wand.
"Bizarre might be the word you're looking for", thought Sira, but she said nothing out loud. In fact, she seemed to like that wand very much, as peculiar as it was.
She wrapped her fingers tight around the hilt, and with a flick of the wrist, saw the wand spew out sparkles of light that seemed to dance in the air, effervescently, and much brighter than before.

Margaret coldly returned the nod she was given, this girl was obviously going to Hogwarts, because her she was, getting her first wand.
Margaret felt a twitch of annoyance. This would take a while, so she settled on a small, weak-looking chair in a corner, and watched the girl without much interest, as she failed with her first wand. For a moment she thought of leaving the shop, to go somewhere else, there was loads of thing she had to buy today, but something held her back. Perhaps was it the thought of having to enter this awful shop once again, but she remained in her chair, her bag propped up on her lap.

She couldn't help to feel a little bit curious when Ollivander took out a strange looking wand. She leaned forward just a little bit, and couldn't surpress a gasp when the wand emitted a flood of lights, dancing around the shop, highlighting it's horrific features.

(I hope you don't mind me joining, love!)

Sasha made her way slowly down the pathway, stopping as something caught her eye. It was something happening through the window of Oliivander's wand shop. She pressed her nose against the slightly dirty paned glass, and saw a younger girl, smiling widely and brandishing a wand, sending brightly colored sparks flying through the air. Her mother was standing right behind her, clapping her hands together and smiling along with her daughter. Sasha smiled to herself and ran her hand through her tousled hair.
"I remember when I came here with my mum to get my first wand..."
And she continued going about her shopping.

"Wonderful!", exclaimed Sitara, looking at her daughter who was delighted with what she had accomplished.
"I believe we see no need to even try this third one, Miss Wyrdstalker", added Ollivander.
Paying little attention, Sira replied "Oh, right, right!", still entranced with the few sparkles that hadn't faded out yet.
Ollivander continued: "There you go, then. 10", mahogany, and dragon heartstring core. Wonderful wand, sturdy, rigid. Interesting though..." he paused for a second. "I always figured you'd share the same wand core as your parents."

Sira shrugged and smiled.
"Thank you", she said, and headed for the door.
As her parents paid Mr. Ollivander and thanked him as well, Sira headed for the door and looked once again at the girl that had entered the shop meanwhile, and was now sitting in one an old chair, as old as the rest of the shop seemed.
She smiled as she nodded once more, in a way of saying goodbye, genuinely happy for having her wand and feeling like that happiness was oozing from every pore - she really couldn't do anything but smile.

She left the shop and felt brighter, lighter.
Well, there was a reason for her to feel lighter. She had forgotten all her books and other newly-bought supplies inside, which her father was considerate enough to carry outside.

Margaret stared rudely at the door, as the girl left, her brows narrowed. Striding across the room, she asked Ollivander for some wand-polish, which he sold to her to the vicious price of 1 Galleon, and as soon as he'd pressed the small bottle in her hand, she quickly put the coin upon the desk, then she turned on the spot and walked you of the store with out as much as a 'goodbye'.
Stepping out on the prodded street once again, she took a few healthy breaths of
fresh air and went down along the street. As she did so, she took out her list, and examined it, prodding her wand at the assignment she'd just completed, so that it was crossed over, as if by an invisible hand. She kept walking as she did this, completly oblivious of the world, so it was entirely her fault when she walked into someone.

The noisy crowd along with the oppressive glare of the sun overhead, were making Gabredian very uncomfortable and irritable. Parents and their kids kept running all over the stores it seemed, talking loudly to be heard over the crowd. And when they failed to be heard, talked louder only adding to the overall confusion of the place.

It was his first time here though, and he was walking alone, wearing jeans and a simple t-shirt, with an old backpack slung over one shoulder. Rudely pushing through the people he managed to find the semblance of an island of personal space in front of a display window.

Breathing deep, he glanced at the display window, filled with huge books. That was something he needed to get right now. Taking the supply list he got in the letter from his pocket he started reading when soon after someone bumped right into him.

Irritated, he snapped at that someone.

'Hey! Watch where you're going will you!"

Only then did he look him, or rather, at her. An older girl with a pony tail, holding a list not unlike his.

Still staring at her he waited for an apology.

Finally, Sira's mother joined the two of them in front of Ollivander's shop, and the three started walking in the direction of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.

"Well then, all we're missing now are your robes. I know you're dreading that, but it'll just take a while. And make sure you stand very still so that Madame Malkin won't p***k you with a needle or anything... Sira? Are you listening?" insisted Sitara, but her daughter was hardly paying any attention at all.

Her eyes and ears were focusing on something that was happening right next door to Madam Malkin's, in front of Flourish & Blotts, where she had been a while ago.
The older girl that had entered Ollivanders shortly after her was now being yelled at by another boy -- a younger one, at that, not that it was important. There was something about his face that made him seem more... graceful than the average wizard. Or muggle, for that matter, and he was dressed like one. Still, she couldn't quite point out what it was.

"Ah, yes... mother", Sira replied. She kept walking side by side with her parents, but as they entered Madam Malkin's shop, she stayed behind, standing by the door, looking at the two of them. Clearly the girl was a Hogwarts student, otherwise she would've had no business in Ollivander's, but what about him?

Margaret stared as the boy, waiting for a angry retort to form in her mouth, ready to be deliverd, but nothing came. This was very much unusal, and lost for words, she just replied quitely:
"Er... sorry"
She doubted the boy knew the significane of what had just happend, as she'd never seen him before. She rarely apoligized, especially not for unimportant things like this, and definatley not to kids, younger than her!

"Watch where you're going yourself, too." she said finally, but it was far too late, and her voice lacked the usual force, so just doubted she'd made a very good impression.

After Sira observed what seemed to be a very awkward and infuriated (mostly on the boy's part) exchange of words, an odd atmosphere set in.
It was then she realized that she was basically spying on two other people, and before they noticed that and snapped at her too, she quickly walked into Madam Malkin's shop, leaving the two of them behind.

Inside, her parents, chattering away with Madam Malkin and her assistant, seemed to pay no importance to how Sira stayed behind. In truth, they were used to her stopping every now and then to observe (and absorb) the surroundings -- which in this case, involved the boy and the girl outside.

"Come, come!" said an unfamiliar voice, and while looking around trying to pinpoint who it came from, Sira saw the face of a somewhat aged woman, presumably Madam Malkin's face, emerge from behind Sitara. The woman pulled out a stool from a corner and tapped it twice, as if telling Sira to stand on it, which she did.

"So, you must be Sira.", she said, and was replied with a nod and a smile.

"First year in Hogwarts, how exciting!", continued Madam Malkin, unrolling the measuring tape, as her assistant brought her a roll of black fabric and a box with pins and needles.
For a while there, Sira wondered if Madam Malkin's age would be equivalent to the number of times she'd be accidentally stabbed with a needle. Age takes it's toll on a person, after all.
Her semi-panicking eyes didn't meet her mother's, and she didn't want to, of course, suggest that it might be better if her assistant handled that, so she just stood very still and hoped for the best.

"I always do." Said Gabriel calmly now, she had apologized after all. Again he glanced at the list in her hand just to make sure he had seen it correctly the first time around. He took a deep breathe glancing at the awful crowd around before speaking to the girl again.

"You're at Hogwarts aren't you?"

He asked, maybe she could point to him where to find all the things he still had to get. Search as he did, he just couldn't find the telescope and the apothecary set anywhere. And he still needed to get all of the clothing on the list too.

Margaret had to refrain herself not to roll her eyes. How dramatic. She could help but to feel amused, even though usually, his kind annoyed her. So when he asked her a question, she answerd without her usual harsh tone. Almost.

"Yeah, Ravenclaw. You?"
