He was the result of one drunken night that left his parents eternally bonded. When he was younger and still living with his parents, he was an agreeable child, but when he was left in Jareth's care and hit his teens, his dragon side overtook his unicorn and he became the little git that he still is today.
When his dragon side hit full-force when he was around 15 in human terms, he was a right little b*****d that liked to make random nobles become entranced with him, then he made them navigate the Labyrinth Pathways for him. When they became of no use to him he either fobbed them off on Jareth or 'accidentally' let them fall into the Oubliettes.
He's outgrown it now and after some hardships and fake deaths, he's living happily in his own place in the Northern Forests with Estelle.

Aruru was born into a mid-ranked high court family. She surrounded herself in a social circle, throwing party after party in order to stay happy. When she reached her teens, Aruru was promised to Kazuu. Kazuu was another elf who she had been friends with for many years and was happy about marrying him.
A couple of years into the marriage, Kazuu enrolled in the elven navy, leaving Aruru and their unborn child left at home. By the time Aruru was in the late stages of pregnancy, Kazuu was due home. But what came home wasn't what was expected. Kazuu had been killed in action. Grief stricken and nearing the birth of her first child, Aruru fell apart. She had to have her mother and father move over into her house to help and even when the baby was born, her depression stopped her from experiencing any sort of bond with the child.
She longed to bond, and even attempted to pull herself out of her depression. But unfortunately, Aruru could barely look after herself, so her sister took charge of the child while the rest of their family helped Aruru out.
