The morning air felt simply fantastic to Uri, having woken early from her place at her mother's side to go wander out into the grass to stretch her legs, which had grown used to the daily life of constant walking since she was a small child living out in the desert off of birds (which, she had learned later, hadn't been a good diet to live off of and had actually been very underweight. Uri had gained a good chunk of it back upon being given chance at a real diet consisting of the heard-beasts of the savanna) and been picked up by her mother.

At times, if she thought hard enough, Uri could vaguely recall her life back in the desert, as well as a white and green lioness that had brought her a great degree of anguish and anger.

Fortunately, she'd yet to have seen such a being every again to call her by a name she hardly remembered from so long ago. Day after day of being 'Uri' had tattooed the word into her head. There was no complaint to accompany the name, though.

Standing out in the wide-open grass, Uri took a deep breath, enjoying the morning breeze for a moment, before her brain registered a foreign scent in it, causing her fur to bristle, putting the mostly-white lioness on the offensive.

Something is here...

Grass was too -squishy- in Pyralis's mind, in comparison to the graveyard he'd grown up in, to sleep on comfortably. He'd rolled over seven -billion- times, taken forever to get to sleep, and at some points had even been curious as to if finding a dead-body and lugging it around would help him get to sleep -AT ALL-.

He was severely tempted, to say.

However, Pyralis had also discovered that hunting things out in the wide-open lands that weren't the graveyard was more than a huge-chore, what with everything -not- being the same dark gloomy color he was.

Dreaming was still an option, though, so he'd try that. ....

Owait... the sun was coming up.

Pyralis pawed at the sky with a miserable groan, rolling over to cover his already closed eyes for a bit to allow the 'GLAAARRE' of death to fade, before he rose up, stretching out and starting to go off, again, on his endless walking, a breeze blowing past him.

He was -really really- sick of walking.

Uri turned her head to look into the direction the breeze had come from, narrowing her eyes a bit at the dark figure she could see standing in the distance, her fur puffing up a bit as she crouched down into the grass to make herself a -bit- less obvious (as her white fur probably stuck out -so- badly) to watch it bumble along.

She couldn't help but laugh to herself. They were so awkward, rolling about, growling at the air like it was -its- fault that it had been forced some form of torture (in her eyes, it looked like it was just grouchy for no reason, but she would never really know.)

After a moment of observation, the white lioness sat up, crossing her paws in a humored fashion to just sit there and -laugh- as loudly as she could in good amusement at how pathetic the darker and -larger- male looked in her eyes.

Then again, Uri was a harsh mistress and had a thing against the male-species since she was old enough to form an opinion. Which had only grown exponentially as she'd travelled with her mother, knowing -very well- that there were men they'd passed which had shot desiring looks at her mother, then noticed that Uri would have needed to be kicked out of the picture for that to happen.

Some may have been happy to oblige.

Pyralis felt himself mentally sneer as, in the distance, he spotted something white which had ducked into the grass. He certaintly hoped whatever it was didn't think it was hiding very well. Because it -wasn't-. At all.

Hell, Pyralis had to go share this with the little white -nuisance- of a being, striding through the grass towards Uri with large and powerful looking legs, trying to show off his bulk as much as possible in order to look as threatening to the other feline of the savanna as possible.

Afterall, it couldn't have been one of those blasted canines, they weren't as smart.

Finding his way over to Uri and standing over her, he puffed out his chest in a macho-manner, looking down at her and shaking his head. Anything -that- scruffy had to be male.

"What are -you- lookin' at, bub?" he hissed at her, giving her a look of a superiority complex like none other.

Bub?

HAD SHE JUST BEEN MISTAKEN FOR A GUY?

Oh, in Uri's mind that was -way- too precious as she looked up with as innocent of an expression as she could muster, before she couldn't help but suddenly roll over onto her back, howling with laughter, kicking her hind legs, before she popped up to stare at the firekin boy in the face, grinning evilly.

"Depends~" she chimed, her voice way to feminine to disguise as a males, thus not even trying to play along with him. "Are you talking to me or your imaginary boyfriend~?" She taunted, strutting about in her own little seductive way, since she was awesome like that, before sitting back to snicker into her paws a bit more.

She couldn't help it.

"Oh god, I think I'm going to bust a lung at you." she sniffled, wiping tears of laughter away from her eyes.

Pyralis attempted to remain as steadfast as possible while the strange boy rolled about in the grass, kicking his legs and flailing about in laughter, before popping up to suddenly get into his face.

And he would have been able to keep a straight face until 'he' started to babble at him over his mistake.

BY GOD, IT WAS A FEMALE.

Pyralis's ears flattened against his head as the girl went on to start snickering into her paws and wiping tears of laughter away at his expense, one eye twitching a bit. A girl. He should have figured.

No other species was as loud as this one was. ******** female.

"Shut up, b***h." he hissed, his fur puffing a bit. This one should have known it's place, he figured. If she didn't, he'd put her back in it. A double whammy. Female -and- just some rogue girl. She had no title that should earn her any respect from him.

Woah, woah, woah, woah. Had he just called her what she -thought- she heard?!

Uri looked up from her snicker fest to give the boy a good stare, her mind debating actually caring about it or not until she saw that -look- on his face. He looked like a ******** SUPERIORITY COMPLEX/SEXIST on -wheels-! Er.. Paws.

Whichever worked.

"Ex-CUSE- me?" she puffed, standing up to again get in Pyralis's face, only this time out of anger at being called a 'b***h' and having that -look- aimed at her, keeping his face's attention on her before she jabbed one of her front paws into his, complete with her claws to give him a nice un-even cut on the front of his leg.

Yeah, she'd show him.

Pyralis hissed and jerked his paw back as soon as the pain jolted through it, practically spewing -fire- at the female whom had dared to attack him, lifting one paw and striking her bluntly across the side of the face out of anger, his eyes narrowing as he stood over the girl he'd just downed, looking down at her.

Something about her just made him BURN in rage. It was a rage he hadn't felt before she'd called him on his stupidity for being unable to recognize gender. Was it that he'd been -laughed at- by this girl that made him so angry?

Yes. That had to be it.

But he'd put her back in his place.

"You shouldn't mess with a Firekin, wench." he hissed at her, lifting one paw to hold it against her shoulder to keep her down. Oh how he'd like to slit her throat right then and there.

Stupid woman.

Uri hissed at the pain in her face from being downed, looking up at Pyralis with a look of utter disgust mixed with her own stubbornness. She wasn't about to let some stupid -man- take her down!

The moment he started speaking again, she dug the claws from her unburdened front limb into the male's paw that pushed down on her, hissing in a spitfire way, before rolling out from under his paw, the fur along her back sticking up angrily. However, she wasn't about to let him attack her again, reaching out with a paw to strike her claws down Pyralis's maw, leaving a mark from all five of her claws down his nose and down his mouth.

In fact, she'd dug deep enough to make him bleed into his own mouth.

That hadn't been her aim, though.

Uri happened to know that one's nose was sensitive, and thus if she'd struck him there, it would hurt like a -b***h- to him. Which had been what she wanted to do. Inflict more pain upon him.

There was a splitting hiss of pain as Pyralis backed off the feral female, the fur along his back standing on edge as he looked the lesser down. Stupid girls.

Then again, he had sisters..... but, his sisters were Firekin like him, so he had every right to look down upon this one that wasn't of such noble blood as he was. As they all were. Except his sisters and the -true- blood of the savanna. He almost wanted to drag this one to the Firekin with him in order to make her his slave.

But she wasn't worth it. Too much bite in her.

Again, Pyralis hissed as his lip was split open, blood dripping out of his nose, instinctively licking over the wound to taste the iron in the crimson substance that had taken to leaking out of one of the more sensitive parts of his exposed body.

That -b***h-!

He growled a bit, turning his fire-y eyes to leer at her. "You didn't."

A metaphoric halo formed over Uri's head at the angry response she got, putting this purely innocent look on her face while she suppressed a giggle. She may have liked being the 'winner' of this mini-scuffle, but she wasn't about to make the boy lose anymore pride to her unnecessary laughter.

Well, it -was- necessary, but wounding the egos of little boys wasn't exactly the -pique- of all things she was up for doing.

"Keep it in yer pants, Bub~" she chimed innocently, sitting back in a sort of 'PEACE TYME!' manner, complete with the bad-spelling, while musing to herself over all things this current event.

'Firekin'?

Somehow she doubted he actually was.

Uri eyed his paw for a moment, before lifting one of her own. "And swat at me with that again, and you'll get what's coming for you!" she added, eyes narrowing venomously.

Oh, now -that- was an original move there. Play the innocent face while the male sits there hissing spitfire, just in -case- someone else saw them. WASN'T GONNA WORK ON THIS ONE. Nor was that 'innocent' little threat she made with her weensy little claws.

Pyralis forced himself to take a few deep breaths, playing at calming himself, before swinging one limb to catch the female off guard, catching her jaw with his claws and leaving a nice little trail with his claws up her jawbone to catch one of her eyes.

Only when he got a suitable hiss in reaction to actually hitting the girl's eye did he back off, almost wondering how much damage he'd done to her face (not that he cared, but if he'd blinded her, he had the feeling he was going to be-)

He never finished his thought as the white lioness pounced onto him with a loud bellow, pinning him down underneath her, her hit-eye closed (though she seemed to have closed it before, so he hadn't hit the eyeball itself) and the other sparkling in rage.

Goodie.

Uri hissed at the pain in her eye swatting at the paw as it left it's contact on her face, before she lept upon the dark male, pinning him down with her front paws, blood dripping off of her face to leave a nice pattern on Pyralis's face.

She held one paw down over the larger lion's throat, lifting her other to strike across his face, catching his eye with her claws, before she lept off of him, allowing him to roll onto his side, hissing and catching his breath.

"I said. Back. Off." she hissed in his face. "Don't -mess- with a Firekin, p***k." Uri added, turning her back to him, but she never stopped watching him. "And you are -not- a Firekin." she added insult to injury, prancing about the male she was happily enraging in a bit of a circle, before she sat back, snorting a bit to herself.

She was just going to -wait- for his next move.

Pyralis heaved for his breath as he rolled over, angrily. He had just got assaulted, again, by this worthless -woman-! He turned to growl at her but she'd already gotten up in his face, asserting herself for him to stop, as well as her identity.

She's a Firekin? he thought in disbelief, then anger flooded over his face as his own indentity was denied by this woman, stomping one paw angrily against the ground and growling back in her face. "I'd like to see you -PROOVE- that!" he snapped, angry when her expression didn't change in the least, before leaning back away from her.

Pyralis couldn't help but snort a bit, looking away from her.

Uri kept as straight of a face as she could while Pyralis hissed in her face with his rage at her trotting all over his identity. In fact, he seemed less sure of himself now that she'd claimed her own. "-I- don't have to, wimp." she hissed back calmly, rising up to walk away.

She took a moment to spat back at the male, though. "You have no place to boast it, either." Uri added, snickering to herself, before bounding out of his paw's reach to strut about in the grass away from him. Now she'd have to explain to her mother that she'd gotten in a fight with some stupid boy.

Uri waited for him to move after her to attack again, and was pleased when he didn't. Looked like he had learned his place.

With a grin, she wiggled her toes at him, before turning to leave.

"We'll have to spar again when you grow up, little boy~" she chimed, before running off in search of her mother.
