((*snugs Meepy* Out of curisoity, whatever happened to those other two Rainbow Brite SoAs? *is so nosy*))
Umeme'charaza shuddered slightly as she threaded her way through the trees and masses of green growing things. Soft golden eyes flickered, always on the alert for anythign that might be dangerous.
"Why did I come here?" she muttered fretfully to herself. Since the lightning storm that had taken her memories, the dark reddish brown cheetah had become a wanderer. The bruisings and pulled muscles that had resulted from being struck by lightning hadn't yet healed fully and when she'd first seen the soft sea of green, it had seemed a place a peace. Now, she felt closed in, as if the trees and vines were trying to steal the breath from her body. Longingly she thought of the savannah she'd left behind. If she couldn't find a place here to hole up and heal properly, she'd go back and take her chances there.
As she scanned the undergrowth, hoping to stumble upon some easy prey, she couldn't help but chuckle to herself.
"One thing certain," she murmured, just to be able ot hear a voice. "With all these trees around, there's no way lightning could find me here."

The deep green male paused in his lifting to turn his gaze to the voice which echoed through the trees. Glancing upwards he cursed, he didn't want to leave his lunch behind but if it was a jaguar, a leopard, one of the bigger cats that lived here he should escape with his life and hunt again later. As with every cheetah his claws never sank in to his fluffy toes but they taped and tenced before he turned and scrabbled up the tree in seconds. Mint eyes peered down through the thick canopy, it might just be another boar after all. He could scare the beast away and bring his lunch in to the trees after that.
He was far from a coward, but he knew when to hide and when to fight, the jungle cats could break his legs and he would never climb again. They hated him the jungle cats, he was strong and swift and agile, he had kept alot of that cheetah speed and being so much lighter than they he could leap through the trees and fly almost like a squirrel. Which was where his name had originated from. Green squirrel quite literally.
The tree leaper they called him, The jungle cats, jealous of his prowess they had never been able to capture him and do what would please them most, kill him, he remained a renegade, knowing he was a cheetah, and fearing the otehr jungle cats in a way yet defying them if they decided to search him out and chase him.
His ears flatteend against his head as he awaited the sight of the creature that was making the rustling noises and voices. It was probably just another wild boar, probably.

((Where di FC did the little Quest bar in his sig?))
The wanderer's nose twitched slightly as she caugth a faint scent of blood. Even the smells in this place struck jarringly across her senses. Cautiously, she began to creep forward, placing each paw as carefully as possible to avoid maing undue noise. Blood could mean food, but it could also mean a wounded predator. And she was in no condition to fight if it was the latter.
Let it be food, she thought. Just let it be some silly little tree creature who fell and killed itself. As she drew nearer the scent, she saw a dark, still shape restign at the base of a tree.
Umeme'charaza's eyes lit up with relief. It was food. She began to hurry forward, her stomach overruling common sense. Maybe if she was fast enough, she could eat her fill and be gone before any other interested parties appeared. And if somethign bigger did show up, even wounded and in strange territory, she was willing to bet she could outrun them before they could hurt her.

Jani'Esquillo was extremely surprised to see a cheetah come running up to his kill. His ears twitched and a confused look came to his maw as he watched her eat, she must have been starving, well the beast was too much for him alone any way, some other predator of the trees would have stolen his leftovers as they usually did. Why not share it with one of his kind? "Greetings" he whispered, his voice a rough muurr, though it wasn't an unfriendly sound. He leapt from the tree with a soft thump. he had leapt fromt he branches in a much more delecate way than when he had killed the boar "I thought perhaps you were one of the big cats" he commented padding over to the boar and sitting with his toes close together.
It was obvious when he sat just how heavily mucled he was in the forequarters, all that time climbing trees and leaping from boughs had made him very bulky, much more than your average cheetah though he of course needed the mucle to climb up the high trees which he lived in except for when coming down to hunt. Tilting his head curiously he looked at the female and smiled. He supposed he should have been angry, this was his kill after all, but she seemed scared and alone, and possibly injured, she smelled weak and hungry to the well fed sleek green cheetah.
He waited quietly for her to reply, he wasn't much of a conversationalist, living his life alone in the trees had nummbed him to small talk, unless they asked him about himself well he was pretty unsocialised and didn't really know how to address a social situation. Still, he stayed, very quiet and still, he wouldn't begrudge the female a decent meal, she seemed much to sllim to him, though he could hardly say he knew any other cheetahs to judge her form by.

Interesting...
A cheetah that could climb? That was amusing. Karama's dark pelt had hidden her well in the shadows of a tree's branches, her brown colors mixing up with the tree's bark, white body parts hidden, and her lighter spots could be easly mistaken by leaves that were shaded by the higher ones. Finding a weak scent like her own was rather hard in the forest, it was filled with scents of birds, fruits, flowers...
"Good day, tree cheetah and company. "
The leopardess' tone isn't any bit intimidating, rather amused. It wasen't every day you'd see a climbing cheetah, no? She grins, gracefully getting up from the branch she'd adjusted herself onto, and leaping over the area where they were, landing on a branch where the green cheetah had been before. Out of lions, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs, she preffered cheetah. They weren't annoying, knew their place, and never really had bothered her during a hunt.
" Karama. "
She simply announces her name, too seem less.. intimidating. After all, leopard could easly kill a cheetah.

"Don't be frightened" the male replied, he still smiled, though he now noticed the visably fresh scars "I won't hurt you, I had thought you were one of those scvancing tree cats" he growled low in his throat "don't let me interrupt you, I can never finish a whole boar myself" He stood then padding around her slowly showing off that slender but mucely form, even his back legs bulged, he seemed quite unaccustomed to walking on the ground though and almost hop skipped to pad around her and gently touch her shoulder "perhaps you should sit and eat, I won't hurt you I promise" he whispered, he was already half convinced that some big cat had hurt the poor slender female. He had seen so few cheetahs in his life he truely didn't know that cheetahs were supposed to look like her not layered with all this tree climbing mucle.
"My name is Jani'Esquillo, I live here" he said, though he wasn't exactly sure why. Where else could he possibly live? As far as he was concerened there was noplace better than the jungle, though he had never truely gone very far past it's boarders before he longed for the trees again.
The sound of heavier paws made him turn his head swiftly though and he licked his lips. Tree cheetah, yes that was what he was known as, the green leaper, obviously the female did not visit the jungle often for the big cats here hated him and certainly would not approach him in such an un obtrusive fashion.
His tail tip twitched though and he was about to growl though he stopped himself, it was foolish to do so the leopard could kill him and the female if she wished and he did not fancy dying today. He wasn't trying to be a hero though he did stand infront of the other cheetah and bowed his head softly "your kind call me the tree leaper" he satted simply, this kill is mine though I have given it to this female" He said this in a stateing manner, he knew if the leopard wanted his kill she could take it but hopefully, she would be one of the kinder leopards. His foster mother had been a leopard which was why he could climb trees, she had given him very tough love making him climb to eat or not eat at all. Would this female be akin to her or would she simply scavange away his meal?

Umeme'charaza forced herself to relax further. No, this male wouldn't hurt her. And when he invited her to continue eating, she smiled and went to it with a will. In between bites, she watched him move. His gait was so different from the graceful lope she used! And when he told her he lived in this green hell! The female cheetah shook her head slightly. Poor thing would be totally lost out on the savannah, she thought.
Clearing her mouth and thorat hastily, she turned curious eyes upon him
"You live here? Why? Doesn't it feel opressive to you, Jani'esquillo?"
She would have gone on in this questioning vein, curious as to why a cheetah would pick a jungle over the savannah. But then, the leopard appeared and her voice locked in fear.
((OOCly note, Umeme's injuries are a fresh scar over her right eye, some swelling on the right side of her head (she fell and hit her head on a rock) and bruising with pulled muscles.))

"I have no interest in your food, nor in harming you, no point in being alarmed. "
Karama lived everywhere, everywhere was home, but never had she heard of a cheetah that could climb trees.
"I'm no fool, if that had been my intention, I woulden't have bothered saying a word. "
She wasen't, but apperently they were-- or a little jumpy. All should know, if you want it, and can get it, you could just go do so. Orange orbs watch them, this female seemed a little.. shy or something, but the one that caught her attention was the tree climber.
"And if my intention had been harm, I would have leapt straight to you, not dodge to a tree. So, 'Jani'Esquilo', and Umeme/charaza, did you catch my name, or shall I repeat it? "
Stealth was so good, you could get the information you wanted even before asking. She'd heard their introductions, usefull, no?

For a moment his gaze remained on the leopard but he turned to reply to the lithe cheetah female first "do continue to eat, it is true if she wanted it neither you nor I could stop her" his tail tip twitched though his eyes danced in a some what vein manner, he enjoyed telling his own tale. "I have always lived in the jungle, it has been my home since I was a young cub" He lifted a front claw showing his some what deformed front paws, his 'thumb/dewclaw' had moved from where a normal cheetahs would be it was obvious over time this had developed in to a climbing aid. He could not run the ground as a normal cheetah could but he could fly through the trees on his 'climbing boot' claws. He smiled lightly, though his mint green eyes were obviously upon the Leopard, he was contemplating if he could lift the female in to the trees if the leopard decided to attack. He didn't want to see her hurt.
"Yes maa'm Karama you said?" he puurred quietly "It is nice to see a kind leopard, there are so few of your kindred around" his tongue lapped out and he licked his lips, glancing once again in to the branches above his head, certainly the tree would hold them both, but to carry the female would be hazardous, though surely she could weigh no more than a large wild boar. Lifting without harming would be the problem. He would have to stand his ground and hope for the best, hopefully noother cats would show up.

"Karama," Umeme whispered quietly. "Your name is Karama."
At Jani's prompting, she continued to eat, though truly, her appetite seemed to have vanished. She was far more interested in his story and when he held up a paw, examined it with quiet interest. How strange, she thought. A cheetah who'd turned into a tree cat. She found herself wondering if part of him ever missed the savanahs.
"Your pardon for interuppting," she began softly. "But don't you remember anythign before you came here? Don't you ever miss the lands outside this place?"
She would have called it a green hell, but somehow, she didn't think that would be diplomatic. Not when he was sharing his kill and rather obviously keeping himself between her and the leopard. Though they'd only met a few moments earlier, she was beginning to feel a sense of kindred witht hsi strange tree-cheetah. He idn't seem to recall life out of the jungle, and she couldn't remember her life before the lightning had struck her.

Ah, good, so they weren't so afraid as to not catch a name. And look, they were polite!.. How boring. Keone was polite, but he was a leopard, afterall. When encountering other things, she really expected diffrent personalities, crazy, scared, angry, arrogant, things of the sort.
His story actually remeinded her of Keone, though he was probably raised by someone, for a change. Keone didn't remember his parents, and probably raised himself alone.
"It's not common to find your kind here.Cheetahs can't turn around so well in here. "
She'd wached cheetahs hunt before, it was amuzing to see how gazelle knocked them off course with just a simple turn.

Of course Jani'Esquillo liked to proove things wrong, he wished to be arrogant to show off a bit but the female behind him was more important "No, I beleive I was born on the edeg of this jungle, I cannot remembermy true mother but my foster mother was a leopard. She told me if I wished to eat that I had to climb, so I did, over time I realised that the ground was no longer that comfortable to me that the trees branches had melded my claws to walk in the branches." he shrugged a bit "I know there are dry lands without any trees or lakes, or waterfalls, I can see them from the jungle edge but why would I go to them? I can no longer run as I would have had i been raised on the ground I am comfortable here, happy." he smiled lightly his gaze returning to the leopard.
A slight smirk lifted his lips and in a second he had vanished in to the tree they were nestled under. A moment of quiet rustling revealed the green cheetah high in the branches where he suddenly leapt in to mid air, landing in another tree not too far away, the branches were obviously thinner wheer he landed but he moved swiftly and was soon racing down the trunk in a verticle manner as if he were running on the ground. he pounced and came to a dead stop back before the female cheetah his green eyed gaze fixed upon the leopard "Things change if they have a will to survive, this place is more open to me than the dry lands out there."

Umeme'charaza gasped as Jani'esquillo vanished up into the trees, only to reappear back on the ground seconds later. Raw admiration shone deep in her golden eyes. Why, he was a much a dancer up in the trees as she was on the ground! Still, she felt impelled to defend her homelands.
"I find what you call the Dry Lands to be very beautiful," she began once he was back on the ground. "You can see for leagues on a clear day and the sky looks like a brilliant gem. It's different from this place, but still very beautiful."
Half wistfully, she glanced back the way she'd come. Had she left family or friends out there? Did they miss her? She had a feeling she'd never know or remember. Still, she thought as she turnd her gaze back to the jungle, I promised myself I would learn who I am. This is as good a place to begin as any.

Karama's only amusement is that this is a cheetah, but its acts were not any unusual; she did it all the time. At least when she was in the junge; to a leopard, this was natural. And she'd seen a lion that could climb, and they were even further from the tree tops than cheetah were, they could climb very tiny tree, cheetahs could do the same, perhaps go a little higher. And the lion she saw was a cub, made it more interesting, claws not as sharp.
"Beautifull indeed, but not as safe. "
For cheetah and leopard alike. She knew cheetah couldn't run at high speeds for too long, and there were less tree's out there.
"Even if it was here in the jungle were my parents and brothers were killed. "
She wasen't entirely sure about her brothers, but how would they survive? Only she had known how to climb when the hyena's appeared, and she had seen both her parents dead; her fathers body, and her mother being killed. Though, she despised her mother for what she'd tried to do, and done. Karama had a sister, wich haden't escaped her mothers claws. And she'd always considered her father a fool.

Looking to the cheetah femme he smiled. He had never seen a leopard leap but the leopard didn't seem too impressed by his display. "Yes, it is beautiful to look at..there are open spaces here" He cleared his throat a bit looking at the meat. he wasn't particularily hungry, he had only eaten the day before, he simply usually ate every day, he usually wasted a good amount which went to the leopards and otehr jungle cats though. "I can show you if you like?" he smiled wanely, it would mean a travel along the ground but if he could help the femme he would be happy to make a short, ground bound journey.
"I don't usually leave the trees for this long, and I have always been able to outrun any other cat in these trees." he glanced at the female big cat, he knew how to escape and how to hide in the branches so that none could see nor smell him. It was one of his many tricks, the tricks to survive.
Turining his attention back to the femme cheetah he smiled "If you are full I will take you to the clearing, it isn't as close as this, a wide stretch without trees and clear blue pool to slake your thirst" it wasn't his kind of place, thoughhe did go there occasionally to gaze at the water or drink from it's deapths. He often drank from the waters in leaf pools if he was truely thirsty. The clearing had it's charms but there were only trees around the edge, he knew his ground gait was nothing like a cheetahs, he plodded like a leopard with an added hop skip in his step which was caused by his mal formed front claws.

Umeme smiled and nodded.
"A drink would be welcome, thank you."
She got to her feet and stood waiting patiently to learn which direction to go. It would be good to see more of this place and learn some of its secrets. Glancing from the corner of her eye at the tree-cheetah, she thought it woudl also be good to make some friends.
