Paradise was sitting idly in the midst of a small copse of trees on a hill overlooking a meadow, watching the flowers in the waving grass roll with the breeze. She'd wandered far afield today for the sake of finding out what lay beyond her previous horizons. She hadn't found much, but eh. Never knew unless you tried.

Banded tails lagged against the ground as the tan female crossed the shallow meadow. Murky eyes remained trained to the ground as her thoughts drifted...elsewhere. It had been a long day, with alot of quiet time to think things over. She had always read the phrase, but had just now began analyzing it's meaning. Ignorance is bliss. Was it....really?

(Well, they're not COMPLETELY polar opposites, but... they're very different, and they also both think outside the norm. XD I thought it was fitting.)
Paradise spotted Nahanni amid the green with relative ease, and her ears flicked forward in curiosity. She rose to her feet and trotted out to meet the newcomer, hoping this might be at least a bit more exciting than sitting around and feeling her brain cells go comatose. And her choice of greeting? A simple, vague, "Yo."

Ears perked immediately, and she turned fully to face to the newcomer. It was a move partially caused by fear, the other out of politeness. Nahanni couldn't tell which was dominant. Murky eyes glanced over the bright pelt of the young girl. "Hello...." Was she looking for something? Or someone? "Can I....help you?"

Paradise raised the eyebrow at the quickly initiated turn and the uncertain body language. Ah. Whatever, kitsu came in all flavors. She sat down near Nahanni and hmmed to herself before answering. "Honestly? Dunno. Felt like talking to someone and you're the only someone I've seen today. I don't suppose you have anything to talk about?"

"Ohh..." That was an encounter whe wasn't used to. Well, she still wasn't used to any encounter. Her ears ducked and she glanced around hesitantly. "Umm, not really. I was on my way home now." Was that too much information? Her mind was just too jumbled really. She had never pushed her empathy so hard before. And she still didn't know if she regretted it or not.

Paradise watched her with the dull curiosity born of boredom. Nothing to talk about? She sure seemed to have something on her mind. She said as much. "Not that it's really my business, but you look like something's bothering you. I'm Paradise, by the way. You got a name?"

She blinked at the young kitsu's blunt words. Perhaps she was too used to her own family's way of speaking. "Nahanni. My name is Nahanni." Her ears did a nervous, back and forth turning. As if expecting someone to yell out at her for staying out too long. "I...I'm just tired. Too much..." Slowly, she directed herself back in the direction she had been walking. She was surprised to see that there was still much meadow to cross.

Paradise padded along on a parallel course. "You don't need to run off. I'm not gonna bite you or something. I'm just trying to be friendly." A soft sigh followed. "Not that I seem to be very good at making friends." Shrug.

Murky eyes tilted down to the one named Paradise. Such a spark like herself had a hard time with friends? Her sensitive side tapped at the teen, she being to tired to pull it in wraps. "You seem....anxious. Like nothing is interesting to you?" It was a random guess; something to dust away awkward silence.

"There are things that interest me... I just can't find any of them right now? Like swimming and maybe playing a game with someone if someone's around to play it with. Or a good conversation. Only one of those I can do on my own, and it gets boring by myself after a while. I guess it might help if I didn't like to wander out here in the middle of nowhere, but eh... I meet more people that interest me out here than I do in the populated areas. If that makes any sense. ...What about you?" Her visitor at least seemed more interested in talking now. Maybe if they kept moving she'd stay talkative for a little bit?

Wow, that was a detailed explanation for a young one. Nahanni felt herself blush at her lack of such specifics in conversation. Her pace was slow, both to keep her calm and allow an actual chat to happen. "M..me?" A confused expression crossed her eyes, and she blinked in thought. "I just meet mostly with family. And just one from the outside...." That was enough energy to wear her out in the day. And she didn't dare toss the title of friend to others. What if they didn't accept it?

Paradise seemed to think that over for a minute. "I don't have any family. I got a place I stay at sometimes that has a lotta people, but... they're all crazy. They're nice enough, y'know, but they're not... my sort. Not really. But they don't seem to mind that I stay out so much, or when I come back just to get out of the rain. I guess they really hold to that idea of 'to each their own' or something."
They walked for a few more moments before she tossed out almost haphazardly. "You wanna try and be friends, or something? Or just buddies to hang out with once in a while?" >>; She really wasn't very good at this.

Nahanni gave a breath of air that could pass as a faint giggle. It sounded alot like her own home. Crazy, but nice. And though she had her daily outtings, her family was more tight-knit about each with another. Not like whatever Paradise was trying to explain. Ears did raise at her question, half stunned as if expecting it to be a joke. She remained quiet, waiting for a punchline of sorts. When none came she shrugged. She wasn't any better at this, but at least Paradise was vocal about it. "Umm...yeah. We can try."

Paradise nodded acceptance of her responce to the friend question. A moment of akward silence passed and then she asked, "So... what do you do for fun?" ...This was going well. x.x
