Kyou was back in the moastary. He wasn't exactly happy about it but right now he just wanted to be away from anything concerning doctors, elves, surgical instruments and the entire world in general. Upon returning he was reminded of why he had left in the first place. The isolated building held it's own brand of cold comfort in a twisted way and the routine of mindless labour and deathly silence distracted him to a certain extent. But that was all it was, a distraction, an escape from reality. He wasn't really dealing with any of his problems right now just pretending that they weren't there, therefore any kind of life he had managed to rake together surely wouldn't last long. As he sat in the courtyard of the Abbey, the evening light paling as it slowly ebbed away from the land, he did his best to decide upon a good time to leave. He would have to return to the Aboveworld eventually, he was still under contract but seeing as he had never taken a holiday during his time at the clinic he had used all of his vacation and sick leave to get away. He just wasn't sure if he could face Hyde again. After what had happened and the stupid things he had done, he was reluctant to see the elder elf. Then there was his father, well that was out of the question. The man had all but disowned him and they hadn't spoken since he came of age. Maybe he should just stay where he was...

Were they footsteps...? It was hard to think somtimes and even harder to hear... especially when you were so used to silence. Shifting slightly, his dusty wings scraped against the stoneworks, sending a cloud of dust, which no longer made him cough, down onto the trapped male's shoulder. He shifted again, his foot contacting the wall to his right, and once agian, as it had been doing recently, it shuddered and a collection of broken grey bricks went tumbling down from the top, there was a hole there of about two, maybe three feet now... over the past three weeks his had been growing bigger... Sereph had beed trapped there, behind that wall for the longest time... he had allowed the imprisonment, he had failed after all. The girl, his young ward, so unhappy with her life had fled from his side one night, binding his wings to the bed-stead he had slept him, and had flung herself to her death to the rocky waters below a high cliff. When they had come seeking her, he had not resented or attempted to end her family's anger towards him. Shifting again he sighed... it was so strage to see the daylight pouring in from above him.. to feel the warmth of the sun on his now probably faded skin for the first time in what was in actuality around 68 years...

Kyou froze, his head snapping around in the direction of the noise. There had been a distinct rustling noise quite nearby. Although there were some slightly unhealthy box-plants in the sparse courtyard there was no wind to move them. Behind the manicured bushes lay the Sealed Arch. Every archway that surrounded him led to a large semi-open hallway which led to the chapel, the living quarters, the hospital and the gardens depending on which direction you went. But the Sealed Arch was bricked from all sides, blocking a portion of the hallway. As a child he had asked the monks about why it was sealed up like that but he had been swiftly sent away with extra cleaning duties and no explanation. Maybe it was one of the Order's many secrets. He had heard that the crypt held some of the rarest artifacts in the Underground, but that place was also securely locked. He ventured a step closer to the mysterious wall. Upon closer inpection it seemed to hold quite a large space. Like a cell, perhaps. There was another rustling noise and Kyou was reminded of a time when he was a child and a pidgeon had made a nest in the chimney above his room. There was definitely something in there. Maybe a bird had managed to get stuck in there. After all there was a rather big hole in the brickwork.

Sereph tried to stretch, it was so cramped in the arch, it really was. Over the years the stones had bowed in towards him, pinning him in a space that was only just wider than his own shoulder span, it was most uncomfortable. As he lifted it his wing sent another shower of masonry tumbling down the wall. He had been tempted over the last few days to stand and look out, but his eyes were still unused even to the slight light he was in currently, and so any thoughts of standing and looking out had been hurriedly dismissed as his poor eyes were not yet passed the initial aching the light had caused him. He sighed lightly, hoping that it would stop being light soon as he would rather like to return to sleep.. it was all he was used to doing.

Kyou carefully approached the hole in the wall. If there was indeed some sort of creature in there then he would most ikely startle it with his presence. He could only wonder what it was and how it got there. Curiosity took over and the young fae stood on tiptoe to peer through the gap, to finally see what was behind the Sealed Arch. As his eyes got used to the darkness he noticed that the space inside was really a lot smaller than he had thought. Barely big enough for a person to stand up in. A small grey shape drifted in front of him, a feather maybe? So there was a bird in here. But behind the falling feathers and fleck of dust loomed another shape. One that was most definitely human, although it seemed a lot larger than he was, perhaps because it was in such a cramped space. The entire figure looked grey in the stuffy darkness, and did not move. As more shapes began to appear in the darkness Kyou could clearly make out the large, curve of a grey wing. "It must be a statue." Kyou though to himself. The figure had still not moved. Plus if it was if there had been a living creature in there for all this time the cell would stink to high heaven by now, whether it was dead or alive.

The footsteps were getting louder, and soon he could hear.. and feel somone standing near him.. the erid thing was it wasnt the calm presence he was used to.. this soul.. this person was in termoil.. there was a rush of negative feelings around him.. It made the angel wince slightly at the sensatoin that was so.. drawing to him. He wanted to help, even though he had failed before, and didnt know who this young mn was. Carefully he tipped his head back, his eaeys looking up, seeking a face in the blining slight above him... "H-" He coughed slightly, choking on the words he had tried to say... "Hello..." He finally managed, all other words dead in his throat for now.

Kyou's eyes widened as the creature behind the arch, whatever it was, moved. He suddenly found himself face to face with it, he could now see that it was male, yes definitely a man...with wings. He wondered briefly where he had come from and why he was stuck in there. He could have been a pegasus, but there was no sign of the ears and tail that were generally a prominant feature of that race. The only other creature with wings like that was... The man made a strange choking noise, probably from the insane amounts of dust inside the cell he was trapped in. Had he said hello to him? That seemed a rather strange responce for a prisoner. If Kyou had been locked in such a small space he would have screamed and clawed hopelessly at the walls. "Hello?" he replied, there wasn't really anything else he could say at that point. "Who are you?" he asked warily.

Sereph kept his gaze directed up at the stranger that was now looking to his curmbling prison, it was strange seeing another face after so long, it truely was. Shifting again, stirring up another cloud of dust, he waited, watcing it dance strange and golden through the rays of the sun that were leaking in, destroying the darkness that he had been so familiar with. The young man looing in had some familiar characteristics to his face, a similar curve ofhis jaw, a similar look i his eyes... to her... The angel felt a pang of guilt in his heart.. he knew he didnt deserve this change. When you failed, when you let your ward die you were meant to give your own life, compendation to the family... the death of a holy soul... the gift of purity into their lives... the life of a blessed new child would be given for the death of the one who failed... but he had been too afraid. He had allowed the angered family to lock him away... in advertantly saving him from the fate he had been unprepared to face. He haddnt had his wings long when he'd let her die. That would be on his heart, soul and consience for ever. Slowly blinking, still struggling to see through the dust he let his eyes rest on the young mans face again as he was questions. "I am Sereph." He sated, his voice a gentle, quiet tenor, low in the rage, but not so deep as to be a baritone. "You are Kyou Olwen.."

Kyou was rather shocked at being addressed in such a way. How had this being, Sereph, known his name? Could he see into his mind? "Have we met before?" said Kyou looking frightened and confused. His hands rested on the cold stones of the wall. The mortar was old and poorly made, maybe if he found some tools he would be able to make the hole big enough for him to escape. But then again did he want that creature to escape. Maybe he had been sealed away for a reason. He could be incredibly dangerous. "How did you get in here?"

"I have never met you before Kyou.. but I can see your name... you age... but that is it." Sereph replied quietly, "There is no one alive who's thoughts I can currntly see..." he spoke quietly, his voice slightly lilted with sorrow. "You... You dont need to fear me though." He added, seeing the fear in the young mans eyes and he had looked in at him. "I was... I was shut away in here... after... after I failed." He didnt sound miserable, just accepting. His voice stayed quiet, measured, as if despite being s**t away in the dark he was somehow still calm and relaxed. He let his eyes slip closed for a moment, "Its was.. It was safer to be in here... despite everything." He stated quietly, "Do not feel any obligation on my part." He let his wings shift again as he turned his head, the light shining brightly over the beautiful jewled effect of the halo that still circled his head, his long silver hair was tsill twisted into long dreadlocks. "It wont be reflected badly on you if you simply walk away..."

Kyou frowned, his finger unconsiously pulling at the weaker bricks, easing them out of place and letting more sunlight. Sereph had a halo, how could he not have noticed it before. He was an angel. Kyou had never seen one before but he had seen paintings in the chapel. "I can just leave you here." he said quietly as he worked "That wouldn't be right." After all his was his unwillingness to do anything that had caused the majority of his problems in the first place. And besides it was better the he discovered the angel than the monks, who knew what those old geezers would to him. Kyou had a sneaking suspicion that the monks were responsible for sealing him away in the first place. Since he had just finished his garden duties the seelie decided that his bare hands were really making that much progress in knocking the wall down because quite frankly he was a bit of a weakling. Grabbing a garden pitchfork which up till now had been abandoned on the other side of the courtyard when he first heard the noise, Kyou somehow managed to lever the metal tool behind the bricks and pry them out making the hole large enough to crawl through.

Sereph smiled slightly sadly to himself, despite the seelie saying that he couldnt leave him shut away, he was leaving.. in all honesty it was for the best it really was. Despite the fact that his unconcious fiddling had now allowed a large amount of sunlight to come tumbling in. It was rather strange really.. having so much light after so long. You can imagine then his shock then when all of a sudden a fairly large amount of the crumbling wall simply disolved into a bright glare of light, it literally blinded him for a few seconds. His eyes however, having had a few days to get used to some sunlight again, though they were watering now, did slowly begin to adjust once more, and he was able to see thata large enoug hole for him to fit through with relative ease had been gauged out of the bricks and mortar. Carefully he shifted around, dipping hs wings so that he was able to pull himself out of the gap, scraping some of his feathers away in the process... and soon he was able to achingly push himself up to his feet, using a section of the crumbling wall as a suport. He was rather tall when he stood, 6ft2 at least without counting his halo. As he stoood he stayed silent, allowing his eyes to adjust, twitching his wings every now and then freeing little flurries of dust and the occasionaly molted feather. Finally he turned his still slightly watery gaze, his eyes were struggling with the light after all, on the seelie.. "I Cannot begin to thank you..." He murmured quietly.

Kyou a small smile spread across his face for the first time in weeks. Truthfully the angel's initial reluctance to leave his hiding place reminded him of his own situation. He had been hiding too, from his own feelings and from the people who were supposed to care for him. "There's no need to thank me. You didn't deserve to be stuck in there forever." he said with absolute certainty. An angel couldn't do anything wrong could they? "Is there anything you need. I don't mean to brag but I'm training to be a healer, can I help you?"

The agel smiled again, very slightly at the seelie, and shook his head very gnetly. "You dont entirely understand.." He said quietly, his sad, still slightly water eyes looking up at the blue sky with a sense of wonder in them.. "I probably deserved to be there more than you could ever know.." his voice was lilted with a hint of sorrow as he spoke now, the memories that flashed across his mind were painful to him, but he made no effort to stop them. "It was very kind of you to help me though." His wings were rubbed raw in places from being pressed against the walls so long, and there were some very old breaks near the base of them both that looked to have healed in completely the wrong direction, making his wings look slightly strange and ungainly. "I assure you I will be quite fine now... I.." he was a little at a loss really, not knowing exactly he was going to be doing from now on.. he had no purpose.. his last assignment had ended in tradgedy... What was a guardian angel with no one to guard to do..?
