Ushukuru lay stretched out on a large rock by the wateringhole, his lanky form warmed by the sun overhead. In the heat of the day, it was nice to just lay around and do nothing, something he'd only really come to appreciate recently.
Adolesence was fading in the tan lion, adulthood slowly taking its place. His mane had finally come in, fluffing out around his face and neck in a soft brown color. He'd put on weight too, though he was still lanky and a little awkward. These changes only proved that he was destined to be a formidable lion as he matured, coming into his prime. He had his grandfather's size, and though he was no match for a god, or even some firekin, he was still more than enough for most other lions.
It was days like this when he wondered about his life, about his past and future. What was he doing? Why was he here, in this place, at this time? He sighed as he closed bright red eyes and shook his head, ruffling that soft mane. What was he going to do?

Again she found herself here wandering the grasses in the open, a constant pulling form this area, why? She wasn't too sure. For some reason she felt as if her sister was always here when she was away, though Nix's eyes had not been able to see the dark pelted goddess for some time now. She wondered if she still had any remembrance of her, Nix wanted to be remembered.
Her life was going in circles, and nothing justified or spectacular was happening, a constant circling about where, in many cases, lead to no where, and led her back to where she started...no where in particular, doing nothing grand with herself.
Nix so wanted to do somehting with her life.
She had met a few here now, Ushu, and the bright golden cub she had met not too long ago either, perhaps that cub was related to Ushu...hmm, his son? Who knew, from what Nix could place from her visit with Ushu, he was kind, he'd be a great lion one day.
Though what was she to become, if anything grand? Anything that was of interest besides being a goddess, sometimes she longed for a mortal life, though she never spoke of it aloud, for fear of having her wings ripped away.
What did her future hold? More circles it seemed.

Ushu's maw split in a rather noisy yawn. With no one around, he gave vent to his frustration in little ways, like slashing plants with his claws or making noises he'd normally keep to himself.
Sweet Circle, what was he doing? He'd never had any ambition, and with that came a slow degeneration of his life up to this point. He wasn't anything fantastic... not as good or noble as some, but not as bad as others. He was cruel, he didn't abuse his right as a prince... but he didn't really do anything to help either. He hunted for himself, brought back what he didn't eat...
He sighed as he closed his eyes, resting his chin on his paws. Sometimes, he wondered if what he was missing in his life was a lioness and a family. But thinking like that had gotten him into trouble in the past, and he was leery of persuing it now. Females had always been trouble for him. Well, most of them...
His thoughts turned to wings and bright eyes, electric stripes on a black pelt, and he smiled to himself. Her prescence had been fleeting, but he'd enjoyed it, unlike some others.

She contemplated things to herself, even sending a few sparks into the water hole to spark some fish up until they floated to the top for her to snack upon, it was a rather efficient way of fishing of course, much faster then trying to dive in after the slippery creatures. Nix'Annada walked on through the tall grasses, watching as a butterfly nearly landed on her nose, and then moved on, she flopped onto the ground with a sigh.
She was bored...her life was boring wasn't it?
Being a goddess of lightning did not give much duties to be performed, just spectacular light now and again, lightning, cold fire could make fire, but here, the grasses would catch aflame and then there would be a huge problem.
She couldn't really help others much...
She could only befriend others, and sometimes take them flying it they were small enough...
"Just let go, let go, whatcha waiting for? Its alright, 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown..." she sang o herself, flopped back into the grass, eyes cast up towards the sky, wings spread far and lazily, "Just let go, let go..." should she let go? She wasn't sure if she could...

Soft ears perked at the sound of a voice nearby, singing a sweet song. Ushu's head lifted as he turned his ears back and forth, trying to better catch the sound and pinpoint the source. It drew him, and all unknowing, he rose to jump down from the rock, a smile curving his maw.
Creamy paws carried him over the dusty ground at an easy pace, the sun warming his back. He felt rather lively all of a sudden, and a bounce came into his steps.
"Hello?" He called out. "Is someone there?"

Nix was waving her paws back and forth as if moving things by strings, her being in control, a smile on her face as she hummed the rest of the song, how lovely it was to hear such words together, voices bringing those together in the strangest of places, bringing those together that don't wish to be alone.
Bringing those together who are curious...
"Hmm?" she asked, an ear flicking in the direction of the voice, rolling over and standing up, stretching her wings, then shaking her head she peered around with blue eyes. "Someone's here depending on who you're looking for..." she hoped it wasn't a border scout, she didn't want any trouble today.
Though a cream pelt soothed her nerves.
"Ushu!" she cried out, happiness in her voice as she ran towards him, slowing down to stop before him, a smile on her face, "How're you Ushu?"

"Nix?" Ushu called, suprised and suddenly shy. He hadn't seen the black goddess... in months now! He grinned as she dashed up to him, his tail curling behind him as ears perked forward to catch her voice. She had such a nice smile, too.
"Hello! I'm good. What about you Nix? Have you found your sister yet? Its been a while since I saw you last, I hope you've been okay." He grinned rather stupidly as he watched her, feeling like a cub again. Despite what he'd done in the past, he'd never learned to be as suave as his brother with the lionesses. He couldn't help the flutterings in his stomach or the nerves that made it hard to think.
"I havn't been doing much, really... same thing I've always done. You know, hunt when I'm hungry, sleep when I'm tired, drink when I'm thirsty... The pride doesn't really need my meager contributions, and I don't have a family to provide for nor am I required to patrol the border, so I don't really have anything to do. You're a pleasant distraction, actually."

Nix smiled, pulled her wings against her back and gave a soft yawn and giggled in doing so. She wasn't supposed to yawn at a time like this! Seeing Ushu again, so much older and...having more of a mane. Nix was tempted to reach her paw out and see how soft it was, but she didn't want to freak Ushu out, not at all, darn her obsession, her sister would smack her for sure.
She shook her head, ears falling back a bit, "No... I don't think my method is working, I'm trying to figure out if I should stop moving, and just wait in one place for her, going in circles isn't helping that much," she said with a smile, regardless of how disappointed in herself she was.
Tilting her head Nix giggled and playfully tapped his shoulder with her paw, "Meager contributions, I would think in a pride everything helps, even playing with the little ones, you know the cubs, they are so adorable," it was obvious she loved cubs so, and wanted some of her own someday. Though Ushu not having a family yet made her raise a brow in confusion, how could Ushu not have a family yet? He was nice, handsome, why didn't he?
"Maybe the right lioness hasn't come around yet Ushu, but you'll know her eventually," she said with a nod.
Yes, finding the right one for you was hard but...none the less, amazing when you found your soul mate.

"Its really too bad, Nix... I'm sure your sister misses you too. And staying in one place isn't really a bad idea..." He smiled to cover up the strange flutter of hope he had at that idea. She wouldn't want to stay here, even if she didn't go with that plan. She'd stay somewhere her sister knew well, or something. And if she did, it certainly wouldn't be because of him or anything...
That thought was just a little too much, and he let go of it as his mind turned to the rest of what she'd said. His ears layed back in a blush as he offered her a goofy sort of grin. He kinda liked it when she was playfuly and touched him like that. "We've got so many willing and able-bodied lions... everyone brings in the extras and its more than enough to feed even the ones who can't hunt for themselves. And we've not end of babysitters, so its not like they need me to do it, even if the cubs are adorable." His grin turned ironic, laughing at himself.
Ha, the right lioness... that was something he did find truly funny. With all the relationships he'd seen come and go, it was hard to believe that there was a 'the one'. "Naw, I don't think its that. I've probably met her already and just down know its her." He laughed softly at that bit of irony. It would be just his sort of luck to have found Her, and not even know it.

"I don't know if she remembers which is the problem, she's been through a lot, more then I have and her memory can fade rather easily," she shifted herself and thought about it, yes, depending on what her sister would try to remember, it would either be there to be remembered, or would be fuzzy and vague.
Nix prayed she remembered.
"Hmm, perhaps I should consider it more then, finding a place t stay, it would be rather nice to actually have a home to go back to every night, anywhere would do really, neither I nor she has a special place to go to, not really anyway," she said with a smile, a laugh and a nod flicking her tail.
"If you've met her then you'll find out eventually won't you? hen it would be wondrous for you then you could watch little adorable cubs of your own play, wouldn't that be great?" An odd question for sure, but cubs were so cute.

Ushu chuckled weakly at the mention of cubs, his ears hiding in his mane as they lay back. He cleared his throat before he spoke, slanting her a rather shy glance. "I suppose I will... and I don't know about cubs, I guess. I like they and all that, but I don't know how great a father I would be."
He struggled to turn the conversation away from that embarrassing little part, seizing instead on her suggestion of staying in one place. He brightened a little, his ears perking forward again. "The Pridelanders let anyone who needs a place stay here, you know." He piped up, though he couldn't help by feel embarrassed by just shoving it out there. "If you needed a place, is all... I just know my aunt is happy to have new lions in the pride, and she'd be happy to have you here too, at least until you find your sister, or decide to leave..."
He gasped softly for air at the end, not realizing he'd said it all at once like that. That only increased his embarrasment, and he dropped his head a little.

"Yes, yes, so nice here, no one ever yells or complains when I come through, which is surprising, yet wonderful I don't ten to like being asked so many questions of why I pass through certain pride territory," she said with a smile, a flick of her tail. She raised a brow at him playfully, a grin on her face, was he suddenly becoming shy talking about cubs, a place to stay? Well now.
"I suppose I could stay here, yet though I think I will search for my sister a little while longer, if I cannot find her, I will come here, I'd be able to see you a lot, it'd be nice," she said with a nod, she let her wings drop a little, and she watched him, and smiled, "No need to hide from me Ushu, its alright."

The tan ears splayed as he smiled gently, listening to her agreement. "I'd like seeing you more, Nix. You're easy to talk to." A large paw swept over the dirt, pointed claws carving furrows idly. Nervous fidgeting, something he wasn't even aware of.
His eyes widened at her last comment, and he blushed furiously as he raised his head. "I-I'm n-not hiding!" He gasped out, suddenly flustered. "I... don't know what you're talking about. What would I have to hide? I'm fine, fine... perfectly fine!" The male babbled as he tried to cover up being caught in his shyness. Oh, how embarrassing...
Ushu turned his face away as he sat back on his haunches, falling silent as he struggled to regain his equilibrium and poise. Females always had an uncanny ability to leave him unbalanced and guessing, never sure of where he stood or what he should say.

Nix flashed him a grin, and a smile, she stepped lightly, padding back and forth almost as if pacing, her eyes watching him, if she was so easy to talk to, why was he being so shy? Males were so silly sometimes, and admitting things they tend to keep from females.
Flicking her tail she stopped watched and giggled as he babbled on, as he turned away, she stepped as if to follow his view, eyes searching for his, "Then why turn away Ushu hmm?" she asked with a wink and a giggle son folowing after.
Ushu was so funny sometimes.

Ushu drew back as she followed to stay in his sight, red eyes going wide and blinking in confusion. Finally he frowned, his fur heated over his face. Circle, this female was persistent. In any other, he might have gotten upset, but... It was Nix, and surprisingly enough to him, he'd forgive her a lot of things for that smile of hers, and the giggle that made his legs go weak.
He caught himself staring and shook his head wildly, turning to move a few paces away and collect himself. He turned smoothly when he did and walked slowly back, a grin plastered on his face to hide how flustered she'd made him. Unable to find a good answer for her question, he stuck to the truth, no matter how embarrassing it was.
"Well, you see, Nix... you have this uncanny ability to reduce me to a babbling fool." He let out a soft chuckle as he came to a stop, his ears splayed to the sides as he gave her his charming grin and shy eyes. "Whenever I'm around you, its hard to think. I've always wanted to be the big, strong male, and yet you make me feel like a cub again when you look at me like that." The admission had him blushing again, but he pressed on, finally admitting his weakness for her.
"I can't help wanting to hide it from you, but I can't even manage to do that in your presence, my lady." He said softly, tilting his head as he invited her to share the joke with him.
