[[ I'm putting this as an 'open' RP so other pridal members can jump into it, should their little hearts content to do so. HOWEVER, I'd like to maintain a sort of 'posting order', which I'm sure you all are used to from the group RPs I've seen *TOTALLY AMAZED* sooo.. YEAH. In order of who replies first, I guesss~ ;D ;D ;D EDIT: Also, if you were gonna have yer lion drag and outsider back with them, give them the link and they can post in here and Mpenzi will drag them back to Wari.]] Mother did this everyday. She woke up, got her spirits up with a shred of hope for something wonderful happening for the pride, then was let down. But that wasn't the -only- thing she did. The lioness woke -him- up from a wonderful chance to sleep in and dragged him out as well. Heck, that had been a daily ritual for a good portion of his life.
But Nzigu didn't complain. In fact, he went along willingly, since it was something that made her happy and he joyed on seeing his mommy happy when around the entire pride seemed to be this sort of 'aura of doom'... or something like that.
All he'd known since he was a cub was that it was kinda gloomy and that if he went off with his mother he at least had a chance to find someone to play with that -wasn't- his sibling. Which was what the aim was coming to be.
"How far out are we going, mommy?" the little brown cub whined, crawling through the grass, which felt as tall as he was, rubbing up against his belly. Mpenzi's 'daily ritual' of going to look for a glimpse of hope wasn't something she'd conciously adopted, nor had she realized it herself how constant of a thing it was. All she knew is that she'd picked up her son to come out along with her, since he had grown tired of playing with a hoard of sisters all the time and she hoped that perhaps he could appreciate the efforts she went to for the pride.
Not to say that standing out in the lands as far as possible to stare off to look for others was much more of an effort than anybody else did, herself having gone off into the hunt despite having been cleaned of the marks of the huntress along with others who weren't ever marked as a hunter themselves (AKA TEH_MENZ) since their numbers had shrunk so small.
"How far out?" Mpenzi repeated, looking back to her son with a look of 'good question' while she mentally considered just -how- far out they -were- going on that inquiry. "Well, Nzigu-dear, I'd say we're going out as far as we end up going." she answered. It sounded like the best answer to -her-. "Er...... okay?" Nzigu answered. That made about much sense as herbivores as friends did to him.

Angu woke with an odd feeling of hope within him, one that hadn't been there in a long time. Perhaps it was the fact that his mate, Raza, was pregnant, but no, this felt different than that. For some reason, he felt that this day was different, that somehow, they would do something worthwhile on this particular day. He glanced around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary, and shrugged. This was probably just an odd feeling. Maybe it was that gazelle he had last night.
He stretched and yawned, getting up for his usual morning patrol of the camp. He didn't have to go far to find something, which was unusual in itself. He usually went weeks without seeing a lion outside of their group. In fact, it was TWO lions, now that he looked more closely, and they were coming this way!
He stood up straighter, trying to look intimidating as he walked toward them determinedly. Little did he know that they brought some of the best news of his life.
They were finally home.

Barazahi woke up shortly after her mate, who, since the big blow-up, she had been spending nights with. It sure was nice to not have to hide it anymore... She didn't really want to get up though. The cubs in her stomach punted its walls, making her dislike the idea of rising to her paws. She struggled to open her eyes.
"What's wrong Angu?" She asked as she did slowly get up. She hoped it wasn't that evil rogue- the one that had scarred her mate. She followed his gaze, only to see two figures on the horizon. "Did she bring reinforcements? Should I go wake Chuguu?" Raza asked desperate to help. Perhaps she was making a mountain out of a molehill.

The footsteps were marked into the soil, so often had they been traversed. Warithi had been to the Shadow's Hearth so often, watching the progress of the one for whom he prayed, the goddess' answer. Or so he hoped, for the young male held the mark of The Shadow, and had appeared in an area sacred. He had watched the child grow into a man, and now came the moment he equally dreaded and craved, introducing Mtume to his beloved, and his beloved pride. To speak of his lineage too early would be unwise, perhaps at all. He wondered, indeed, if the lion at his side even knew himself.
Footpads falling behind and to the side of the Akida came slow and wary. The older man had been kind since finding him, but talked with such pride of his family, his pride, that Mtume feared lest they took him in dislike. He was a gift, he had been told, and was watched by eyes that saw all, but he knew only confusion at the words, and a certain loneliness of growing up in what Warithi termed "the Shadow's Hearth." He was emerging from that place, but knew not to where.
The Akida traversed the space into the public domain of the pride, tasting the air for the familiar scent of one dear to his heart. Where was Mpenzi?

Embamba had long since awakened, always rising when the dawn was barely a thought in the blackness of night. Such was the way her system had always worked and she knew that she was a strange lioness indeed. She saw, though didn't acknowledge, when Angusho rose to make his patrol. Over the past few days since their argument her feelings had softened considerably towards her new son-in-law, though there was still a trust there that would take some time more to heal. Baharazi was looking well, however, and Embamba thought it best to just leave well enough alone... and to restrain Ndege when needed.
It helped her mood that these lands were so close to their old home. It couldn't be much longer now, she thought; no, indeed, only a few days at the most. But wasn't that what they had been saying for so long now? A part of her sighed, eyes watching Baharazi waddle her way to Angusho's side. A whisper of wind brought her daughter's words to her ear and Embamba's head raised. Outsiders?
Climbing to her feet, the sickly lioness made her silent way to her son-in-law's other side, looking past his pink to the lands stretching out beyond them. Two figures were coming close to them, one larger and the other a child. So used to the heathens of the outlands, Embamba almost recoiled; indeed, she had to clamp down on her resolve not to do such things in order to still her body. "She?" The make-shift 'princess' of the Mteo hadn't been told of Angusho's battle, but the scar and limp he'd held for so long spoke well enough for itself. "Do go wake your brother and sister, Raza, darling... But this may not be Outlanders."
She voiced the last uneasily, almost not daring to hope though the evidence lay with this possibly being more than random heathens. They were in the right place, finally... could it be? Her heart beat in her throat, and Embamba felt herself get a little dizzy. Unable to help it, she took a seat, attempting to look as composed as possible.

Ndege had been a light sleeper from the moment he had realized the danger that surrounded him in the outside world. His peace and confidence had been shackled to a stampede and carried away, replaced swiftly with consistent unease. Never did he get a night of peaceful sleep, for they were filled with light snoozes and jolting awakenings. The slightest noise would jar him - force him to panic or become alert. In some ways his attentive state was a blessing, but more often was it a curse. Sleep deprivation could be a horrid and strange thing. Often he was more troubled when he had not been greeted by comforting darkness and ease.
Regardless of his light sleep and jumpy tendencies, Ndege had awoken promptly in the late evening hours and had resumed the only thing he knew to resume. He had strolled a short distance, and he had sat down to survey the upcoming distance. Such an activity was time consuming and tedious, but necessary in his eyes. He would sit for hours before shifting and moving himself again to continue his survey. Naturally, he kept himself aware of location by habit of finding markings to make familiar. A stone somewhere. A tree in the distance. The angle of the moon from his eyes when he face forward. Whatever indicator he could find, Ndege would note it and would value it as an imprint on his memory.
Through all of his weary surveying of the landscape, and off feeling had settled into his stomach. The land had seemed strikingly familiar. In a way, he had felt more comfortable than usual. Fine feelings had set him at ease - and that feeling had only seemed to continue when the gentle sound of a cricket symphony twinkled within his ears. Like a child, he had began smiling as he began a trek back to where he had began his walk. He had strode with a certain air about him - a certain confidence that had seemed to die away over the long distance into the barbarian territory. It had returned, and it had brought something back to Ndege. He felt renewed. In a giddy sort of way, he had bound quickly. His hair had bristled and his disheveled mane had intertwined with the wind until he had began slowing down once again, having returned to the place where the group had settled for the night. Unlike previous notations of familiar land, Ndege had felt it in his toes. He knew the land was familiar. He was positive it was familiar, and it brought him such great joy that he wanted to exclaim his notation as loud as he could. Hours had passed - and nothing had changed. The land had still held its quality. His confidence and joy had remained; the feeling in his stomach had not settled. For that he was, for once, thankful.
Ndege's timing could not have been more awkward. He had arrived just in time to catch wind of the ordeal occurring. The motions and noise had been muffled to him. In such an intoxicated state, how was he to understand what it was that was falling into place? As he observed, he had felt a gnawing feeling in the back of his head. A little voice beckoned him to panic, but he resisted, too overcome by his own ecstatic nature for the moment.
Even so, he could not help but voice his confusion. Somewhat loudly, he had called out: "What is it?", as if expecting the statement to be explanatory and to be correct. It had not occurred to him that, maybe, the group had just awaken - or that there was no trouble at all. Of course not - because one set of words had managed to catch his attention during his approach. This may not be Outlanders.

Nugula Atadiusti trundled through the lands belonging to the Mteo'nyungu, heavy paws bending the grass beneath him. He was patrolling, watching - not expectant like some, but rather cuatious. Though there had been no trouble in the time since he and his twin had entered the pride, that didn't mean it couldn't come. Today he had reversed his usual wanderings for a touch of something different. It wasn't much, but it broke what could turn into monotony, and monotony was dangerous.
As he walked, he scented the air, checking for anything out of place. It took him a moment to realize that there was something new...new, but lion. The tattoed male narrowed his eyes, and in an instant adrenaline shot through his system. He bounded to a better vantage point.
Violet eyes scanned the grasses, watching for forms on the horizon, or a parting in the stalks. Even as he searched, he threw back his head and let out a carrying roar for the ears of pride and others.

Ata was, by all means, an early bird.
She was already pouncing around the close surroundings, knowing better than just leaving while her parents didn't know. The young lioness was still a child at heart, perhaps even more now, with the prospect of her nieces and nephews on the way, but her distraction had stopped her from noticing what was going on; strangers approaching.
But when Angusho woke and started to give signs of frustration, she was quick to pick up, and scrambled over to the side of her mother, pricking her ears curiously at the sight of two forms. She pondered quietly to herself, whether they were or not in any sort of trouble, but when she registered what her mother said..
"Not outlanders..? You mean.. "
She blinked, peering back at her dad, sudden, alien excitement shot out of her. She heard a roar as well, and found her paws tingling to run over to the two strangers. She paced rather excitedly a ways ahead, but instead of what her family might believe, she turned back quickly, fidgety, trying to waste off her energy and stretch her limbs.
If the mteo'nyugu lands were where they were from.. Didn't that mean, if these weren't outlanders, they were...
Home?

Chuguu woke quickly when the wind carried the mutterings of the others to her ears. She had only ever come across one other lion while watching the horizon. The result hadn't been so bad. She took a moment to smile at Moyenda laying beside her. Yeah no so bad at all. The smell of this place was one that, on an uncouncious level, comforted the msaka. Chuguu couldn't really explain the feeling. Seeing as there was no imediate danger she took a moment to take a deep breath and savor the aroma that seemed so familiar. It was that moment she heard the comment that Embamba had made. Not outlanders? Then..... could it be? The lioness' heart almost skipped a beat as her hope soared. Could it be possible that, after so long, they had finally made it home? The resounding roar that carried over the savannah only a moment later quickly put a damper on her hope. Maybe this was neighboring lands; not quite home but close, for that roar seemed to be one that was not of welcome. Chuguu stood almost frozen with nerves. She watched the others of their small group and the pair of lions quickly approaching. Her muscles were taught with readiness just in case. There was still hope in her holding on to the comforting smell of home.

Moyenda stirred at the sound of a roar of warning. Alert, he climb to his feet, noticing with concern Chuguu and her nerves. He had never seen her look as vulnerable as she seemed. It wasn't overwhelming, barely noticable but that was still enough for him to take notice of it. The family Chuguu was protecting was already awake and just as alert. He took a brief second to be embarrassed about his slow to wake before squashing the emotion. And despite the alertness, there was a strong, pooled sense of hope as if they had their hearts stuck in their throats. Had they come? Were they here? He had only been with Chuguu for a little while but already he shared their feelings, their emotions ...and he clung to hope.

Kimya woke slowly, blinking blearily in the morning light. Unlike the majority of his family, he lacked to incentive to wake up in the early morning, preferring to sleep late and stay awake late. That had never been the best thing when he and his family were traveling and the constant need to wake up early in the morning to begin traveling again didn't do much for a good mood.
Blue ears twitched and perked as he heard the others moving about and he stood slowly, stretching and yawning. Belatedly, he realized that everyone around him was tense and focused; their gazes firmly attached to something that was coming closer to their current position. The atmosphere was different as well, excitement, anticipation, relief roiling about.
What was happening here?

Nzigu noticed the group of shadows moving in the distance of the morning, almost tempted to scramble underneath his mother in hopes that he wouldn't get attacked there, but he wasn't about to go and use his mommy as a shield against that many big lions who could beat her up.
That left him with one option.... GO LEAP AT THEM!
Which was exactly what he did, bounding ahead to go meet these stranwoah that guy was big....
Nzigu paused a few feet from Barazahi and Angusho, almost fast enough to get the screeching tire noise for an effect as he looked up wide-eyed at the Shuuja. "WOOOAH." he said in shock, leaning back a bit to stare at him in shock and a sort of investigation. HMM. "Hey Mister... I bet your not as big as my daddy is!" he boasted in child-like competition. Afterall, if his dad was bigger than this guy, then Nzigu obviously was better, right?
Ah ha ha...
"Nzigu!" Mpenzi called after him, if only to keep her check on the boy. It was almost creepy how undaunted she was by the group of lions whom looked and investigated these approaching beings. Then again, she was too trusting by fault.
Taking seat behind her son, she took her time to look over the group who stood before the pair of them, her eyes drifting over each in turn. She recognized the colors of what seemed to be the youngest, but their beings were not as recognizable to her. There was a male she didn't recognize at all and then......
No... it wasn't possible!
Mpenzi's face clearly reflected the disbelief in her mind as she took another look over the beings whom she had stumbled upon. Most prominent, Chuguu. Afterall, once a huntress herself, it was hard to forget a face you'd gone out on the hunt with, tattooed herself or not.
And... It seemed as though her mind her was racing. Just trying to force herself to go "YES. REALITY. YOU CAN STOP NOW."
"Nzigu.." she reached out with a paw to scoop up her son towards her to whisper in his ear. "Go get Warith-..your father, please." she requested. "And bring him back here. I think it's called for."
Nzigu whined a bit as he was set off to go play messenger boy, but he figured that if mommy wanted daddy, then MOMMY WOULD GET DADDY!
RAAAAAAAA!!! SPART-... MTEEEEOOOO!
Nzigu went racing from the scene to go back towards the den as fast as his little legs would take him, the whole time screaming as LOUD as possible; "DAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!"

Angu looked down at Nzigu curiously, not seeing him as a threat at all. "Um, what?" He asked, "I don't know, maybe I am bigger. Or he could be bigger, I don't know." He shrugged, before shaking his head and trying to focus on the matter at hand. He wanted to ask who his father was and why he thought that it mattered who was bigger, but by that time he was long gone, calling out to summon his father.
"What is going on here?" He asked, eyeing the slightly-familiar lioness suspiciously. He looked puzzled, and slightly irritated, as if someone had told him a riddle and refused to give him the answer.
"I don't get it." He frowned, his mind refusing to make the connection to the lands and the strange feeling he had inside him. He'd just have to wait and be surprised later. Typical Angu.

Barazahi was pleased to see that everyone was waking. She wasn't quite sure what to do- what she could do with her fat stomach. She glanced from member to member, first to her mate, then to her mother, then father... There was a certain feeling of excitement around the camp. Then she heard a roar in the distance, and had no idea how to take it.
And the figures grew ever closer. Raza gazed down at the young male, and couldn't help but chuckle as he commented on Angu's size. Now, if he'd commented on her size, he would be in trouble. She was heavy with cubs, yes, it was obvious, but she didn't want anyone pointing it out to her.
She then looked at the brown female. "Hello," Raza said, scanning up and down the stranger. No, she was nowhere near as beautiful as Barazahi, but she wasn't ugly either. She wondered who the female was. There was little time for a proper introduction, though, as she whispered to what was obviously her son.
Once the boy was on her way again, she introduced herslf. "I'm Barazahi, Raza for short. Where are we?" She asked. She didn't know this land at all, she'd never seen it before in her life.

Searching for his mate would, apparently, have to wait. The sight of one of his sons barrelling at him like a bat out of hell, screeching at the top of his lungs, assaulted Warithi rather before he reached the den, sending his brows soaring. There was, of course, the ever present note of worry that characterised the mind of a father and Akida, though tinged with the amusement that his children often provided. Attempting to place himself in the line of his unnaturally propelled cub, the male called out, more amusement than worry finding it's way into his voice. "Nzigu?" he called out fairly softly, after shooting the younger lion by his side a look he hoped was fairly reassuring, in the face of the infant hurtling their way.
Receiving A Look, capitalised, from Waritihi, Mtume stopped in his tracks, pale eyes taking in the familiar older male, then the blur of colour apparently screaming for it's father, to the vaguely unfamiliar lands outside the Shadow's Hearth, and stopping, at last, at his own feet. Life was about to get interesting, that much seemed evident.
