Okay everyone, I just woke up - maybe a half hour ago? - and I've got a dilemma. Yeah, already.
I woke up from a dream in which my old boyfriend made one hell of an appearance. No, nothing dirty, but we talked about a lot of old stuff, and there was dancing (okay, that part was weird - it was a choreographed number from when I was 15 or so, but I remembered it in the dream), and his little sister made an appearance, too. But everything in the dream was just the way I remember it, his house, his family, even the shade of the grass on the lawn. I never really forgot him, and even though there's no feelings or anything, we did laugh a lot, and I remember him being a really great person.
Anyway, I woke up feeling so strongly that I should contact him, that I just don't know what I should do. I want to write him a letter, and I even went so far as to look him up online, and I found a record with an address I can likely use. The question I have is, do I send him a letter or not? I mean, I don't know what's going on in his life, and even though I don't want anything from him other than to say Hello, I just don't want to be intrusive, you know? Sometimes current girlfriends have a problem with old girlfriends getting in touch after a long time - and that can get ugly. I don't want that for him.
So, what do you guys think I should do? Should I leave it as a nice memory, or should I stick my neck out and say hello?

Contacting exes is usually a bad idea. I sent a letter to an ex after high school on a day I was feeling particularly lonely and nostalgic, and after not hearing back from him for about 2 YEARS, he wrote me back and started bugging me online a lot. Turns out he was trying really hard to hook back up with me. Of course, by then I had just started dating Nam and was kicking myself in the a** for giving him an in.
He's a sweet guy, so he wasn't insanely stalker-ish - he didn't show up at my house, anyways. Though he did have one of his friends harass me endlessly on MSN. I seem to recall the friend calling me "pumpkin tits"...
Uh. But yeah. BAD IDEA.

Pumpkin Tits?
LOL, that is a very funny "wannabe" insult.
Don't call. I agree with the idea of MingSao, calling Exs is a bad idea.

Wow...
I'll try my very very best to take your advice. I wasn't gonna call him, though - just send him a birthday card, you know? I'll admit, it's gonna be hard not to - for some reason, he's been on my mind all day. ):
I likely won't do it. I'm kind of a chicken.
