If we just tell the n00bs to GTFO of the ED, it will be considered spam?
But what if I explain it too? No warning, m'right? Or no?

Well... It's a slippery slope, really. If you do naught but post some insulting graphic or wot, then yes, it is undoubtedly spam. If you tell a n00b to get the ******** out or a troll to commit suicide, then you tread a fine line. If it is too "intense," such as "encouraging others to commit suicide" (to use an example of why Tragic Mime was given a temporary ban) then you will be penalized. If the user takes offence and reports your post, then you'd better pray that the mod who reviews the report has a sense of humour. However, if it is not too extreme an insult and none take offence to it, then you'll be fine.
Yeah... nice and simple.

It's still stupid. I love how they delete our spam posts but only move spam threads. The mods really need to pull their heads out of their rectums.

I know... It's totally ridiculous. It seems now that the mods are just completely ignoring the spam threads. The other day, I saw at least three misplaced threads get moved within 15 minutes, while there were half a dozen spam threads still actively being posted in.

Actually, you're not supposed to post in spam threads at ALL, because that contributes to the spam. I know of a few mods who get really a**l about that, and they should. Not only does it not solve the problem (and really, what does yelling at a n00b do?), it creates MORE spam as your post does not go along with ED guidelines and is certainly not a discussion, it bumps up the spam guaranteeing it'll get more attention, and it encourages spammers because they're only looking to get a rise out of people for a laugh. It is preferred that you and other just report threads instead. It seems that hardly anyone does that anymore.

'Nuff said. The "Y HALO THAR" threads go down for a while, there were at least a dozen of the little ********.

I know how you guys feel. Because in the A/M/C we get spam threads and repeat threads that are really annoying. The only thing I can say is just report the threads and hopefully they will be taken care of. Even though it takes the mods a while sometime to get the threads to go away.

Is posting on a spam topic to say you've reported it ok? I usually tell them to move to chatterbox and that i've reported them, so people don't waste time reporting it again...

...my pressing concern are for people that obviously use threads like ExD to spam, mostly to piss people off.
Maybe I should stop telling them that they've been reported, it's like I'm bringing a challenge.

Again, it's a slippery slope--some mods will warn you for posting in a thread and reporting it as well, others won't...
