Off the Grid When computers tell us everything, will these kids survive when living off the radar?

Technological Advances Computers. Nifty little things, right? You can do almost anything with them, check you're e-mail, go on-line, talk to your friends who are far away.
But what if the computers got too powerful? More powerful than a human can control? What if, instead of humans controlling the computers, the computers controlled humans?
Computers tell people when they need to see a doctor, when they should go for a walk, when they should eat, sleep, reproduce. What if the computers seemed like the cared, keeping you from riding your skateboard becuase you will get hurt?
In today's world, that is becoming the case more and more often. Chips are placed in the forearm when they are young so they can be kept track of. When this is proposed, citizens rioted, not wanting the computers to take over. The government ensured them that this was only so the rights of the citizens are upheld, and it is easier to keep track of criminals this way.
However, as the crime rates drop, so does the number of people who get out of bed to go to work in the morning. Most people don't care about this, but there are a few that worry about the population rates, which are also dropping. Those people demand answers to why people are not being told to do this. Numbers are diminishing before their eyes as the murder rates still do not drop.
Many people have removed their chips, exposing themselves to the hardships of life, just like in 'the old days.' Unfortunately, when they remove their chips, the government is aware immediately. They will go to the homes of these people and put them in confinement cells, away from anyone, and their chip is forced back.
Six mothers have removed their childrens' computer tracking chips. When they turned twelve, however, they send their children away in fear that the police will knock down their doors, figuring out that they have children. They are on the streets, until one day, they meet one another. They decide to work together, find a place to stay, and maybe, start a revolution.
They find a place to stay, an abandoned home, one that was raided years ago, when the police first started knocking down doors. They are nowhere near comfortable, with each other, their surroundings, nor their situation.
Will the police find them? Or will they become (or create) a revolution to bring an end to what they see as a computer uprising?

Aliya is very kindhearted. She'd take in rabid animals if she wasn't stopped. She hates seeing others in pain, and would do anything to stop it. She has an easy smile and loves to see others do the same. She's frightened easily also, and for this reason, since she found the house, she's stayed in it, terrified that the police will find her and her friends and do terrible things to them. She's easy to talk to, and would never tell anyone a secret that she was told in cofidence.
Aliya's parents loved her more than anything. She was the only child they had, and they were terribly sad the day they told her she had no chip and that she must flee. She didn't understand at first, could not understand why her parents were doing this to her. Was she not a good enough daughter? Did she not do everything they asked to their satisfaction? If she did, then why were they throwing her out with tomorrow's trash? She just couldn't wrap her mind around what she had done wrong.
When the police came to her house late at night, she narrowly escaped, and her father lost his life. She holds that memory in her mind, and remembers that she must be strong. She must be strong for her mother, who is now alone in her home. She was running from a police officer who could not find her on the radar gun when she ran into the others and was pulled inside. It was the lack of a chip that saved her that day, and she keeps that in memory too.

Serena is very laid back. She doesn't plan too much ahead before she does something, and this tends to get her into trouble. She's a beach bum who loves to be outside, and gets antsy when the police are around. She's a bit of a troublemaker as well, always getting them kicked out of the places they go together.
Serena was the oldest in a large family. She left the earliest, however, when the police came to inspect their home one day, she had to flee. She was only eight years old when that happened.
Not knowing where else to go, she decided to stay at the only other place she knew of. The beach. She had enough surf friends so that she almost always had a place to stay, so she didn't worry about it too much, though she did miss home.
When she was twelve, the beach was raided as the cops searched for an non-grid child, and it was then she decided that it was time to go. She wandered the streets for a while, not knowing what to do, doing what she had to to survive and hating every minute of it. She was determined to survive, it was the last thing her parents had ever asked of her. "Make us free," her mother had said, and that was exactly what she planned to do, even if her personality did get in the way of that quite regularly.

Katelyn has always been a bit of a rebel, going against what her parents said. Despite her intimidating outward attitude and appearance, she is really a kindhearted person. She's the second youngest, and so still maintains some of the innocence of a child, and it shows in her at times whiney attitude.
As a child, she drove her parents crazy. She's the youngest of three, and she exploited every second of it. She knew when she was little that she didn't have a chip, everyone else had a scar on their wrist but she didn't. Her parents had tried to tell her that she just healed better, but she didn't believe it. She wanted to start a revolution against the computers before she even knew that the police did regular checks into homes. When they came to hers, her father snuck her out of the house. He took her to the park and explained to her that she coudn't come back home, not for a long time, and it was up to her to make that time as short as possible.
She lived out in the woods, doing what she could to survive. She's back inthe city now that she's older, and maybe she would be able to go home and see her parents while they were still alive. She found the house by accident, needing a safe place to sleep one night.

Adam is way too nice for his own good. He's never been on a date because girls always use him becuase he never asks for anything in return. He's easily hurt and seems to always be sad. He likes kittens and tends to take in hurt animals and nurse them back to health.
Adam was raised by his mother. His father didn't support his mother in her decision to keep him off the radar, and ran before the police could get him. He was raised to always be sensitive and caring towards others, and looking back on it, he wishes that his mother had taught him to protect himself. When he was sixteen, the police came after him when he was eating dinner. His mother was killed, and Adam narrowly escaped being confined, or worse, killed along with his mother. He ran until he couldn't run anymore, and passed out of exhaustion. When he woke up he was in a strange room in the safe house.

Kyle is a bully. He doesn't hurt those he cares about, but will do anything else to anyone. He doesn't like how people live in perfect ignorance about what is going on around them, he doesn't like that they barely do anything on their own, even the generation that should be out causing hell. He blames his parents for this life, and gives them no thanks for keeping him off the grid, but grudgingly gives them thanks for not being ingorant enough to leave him on the radar to rot like the rest of humanity.
Kyle's mother put his chip in when his father wasn't around when he was three. She didn't want to get in trouble for it. When he was eight, he took a knife and dug it out in front of her. Her mother begged to take him to the hospital, but his father forbid her to do so. She called the cops anyway, getting his father arrested and himself almost captured. He ran away, as far as he could before he became exhausted from blood loss. He jumped into an alley and hoped that he made it through the night.
He woke up the next morning and began wandering. He wasn't dead, and now he had a scar, just like everyone else. He was able to blend marvelously in with the crowd, but didn't want to. He wants a revolution, and prays every day that they find more people living off the radar.

Alexander is a pessimest. As much as he'd like to see a revolution, he believes it's never going to happen. He wants it too much. He doesn't smile much, only when Serena bugs him does he show the faintest glimmer of one. He listens more than he talks, and wants to know how the chips work so maybe he can find out how to short them out on a global level.
His chip never made it inside his house. He never knew his father, and his mother didn't want a child that would grow up to be like that man, only listening to what his chip told him to do and not taking responsibility for his actions. Unfortunately, she wasn't a great mother either. Her chip took over her will and she left her son to raise himself.
The police came for him when he was nine. He ran, not knowing what else to do, and being more scared of them than he was of starving to death. He now thinks that fear was the smartest thing he'd ever done. He was leadto the house by one of the older ones, not knowing that there were people out there that lied yet.
He holds no hard feelings toward his mother, but does want what happened to him never be repeated. He has been trying to get his hands on a chip for the longest time, so he can take it apart and see how it works so he can take apart the system from the inside.
