my boyfriend and i don't use condoms or birth control. so when he is about to come he just pulls out. we've been going out for almost 2 years, and we started having sex about 3 months into the relationship.

does the pull out method work, or could i still get pregnant??

somehow i refuse to believe that pre-c** has sperm in it.

also, if i were to give him multiple orgasms, and then we had sex again and he came inside me, could i get pregnant? it doesn't even seem to have that much sperm in it at all after the first few times. it's kind of a dumb question.

my last question is, someone recently told me that vitamins can make your birth control less effective, or cancel it out. is that true at all?

Well, if he pulled out in time I believe you couldn't get pregnant. Remember, even a little bit of it can and will get your pregnant, but so far, it sounds that your methods haven't failed, but that means the risk isn't over, there is still chance you can get pregnant, even condoms can't provide full protection, but some protection, is better than none.

To answer this simple, its possible. If he clean himself then started again, the chances are lowered, but still there. I hope this helps.

The pull out method does not work as an effective birth control method and you can get pregant.

Wether or not you believe want to believe that precum has sperm in it doesn't change the fact that it does. (That's like saying if you don't believe ice cream has calories than it doesn't have calories). And as long as he can ejaculate, it means there is sperm in his semen. That's the whole point of ejaculation. No matter how many times he's ejaculated before in one session, if "c**" still comes out of him, so does sperm. it only takes one sperm to get you pregnant No matter how "timely" he does it, eventually the odds of you getting pregnant is great.

The average percentage currently being used for failure rate is 19% that means out of every 100 women who use the method, 19 get pregnant. HOWEVER, A recent study done in a medical journal has put the failure rate at 34%.

I'm sorry If I sound angry, but I am. The pull-out method is so irresponsible it boggles my mind why people still do it. There's no reasonw why you guys aren't using condoms or some one form of birth control.

Like I said though. No method for safe sex is 100% protection from pregnancy, except maybe the pill I guess.

The pill is not 100%!
As stated already NO method is.

There are more sperm in the pre-ejaculatory fluid than in the actual release of semen. It has a much higher concentration of sperm, just minus the semen fluid. In other words, pulling out doesn't help at all. Pulling out may avoid semen entering, but not sperm.

Holy cow, where did you hear this nonsense?! This is not true in the slightest. If it were, ejaculation would be pointless because the millions of sperm would already be released.

There are studies out there that can not conclusively determine if precum has sperm in it. They speculate that in most cases where sperm is found in pre-ejaculate the man has not urinated to cleanse his urethra after masturbating or having intercourse before giving a sample of precum. Many of the same studies out there suggest that a man urinate before intercourse to help flush out any residual sperm in his "pipes".

There are cases where it'll happen, but has more to do with the mans plumbing than anything else.

To be safe, you always want to be concerned with precum. Don't assume it's safe. By all means, it's safer than letting him ejaculate inside you, but don't count it out. Statistics list the Pull Out Method as having around a 70% effective rate. This means there's still that 30% that can fail. And this percentage comes from the "perfect use" category (meaning he pulls out perfectly every time 100%). Like Yukito said, it takes ONE sperm to make a baby.

The only method of birth control that is 100% effective is abstinence.

Also, keep in mind that sperm can live inside of a woman's body for up to FIVE days. That's a whole school week. And you can always get condoms at Planned Parenthood, if money is an issue.

As others have said, of course you can get pregnant while using the pull out "method." If you want to avoid pregnancy, you should invest in a real form of birth control. Not using birth control is just irresponsible. Just because you have not gotten pregnant from it yet does not mean that you won't.

I just wanted to throw that out... again.

You realize that's a REALLY good chance of getting pregnant, right?

Look, this is when you're TRYING to get pregnant:
...if everything is absolutely in perfect working order, you only have a 20-25% chance of conception each month.

So, really... the pull-out method is about as reliable as NOTHING. You're statistically on par with people who are TRYING to get pregnant.
So... next time ANYONE thinks the pull-out method might work, remember that, statistically, you're as likely to get pregnant as if you were TRYING to get pregnant.

I can't really say anything apart from to agree with everyone in the thread. Avoiding pregnancy should be a priority unless you want to be pregnant. I don't know why the withdrawal method is listed as a contraceptive when it has been proven time and again that it's practically not effective at all. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.

Please, get birth control before it's too late.

that pulling out method is not an effective way to have sex with out getting pregnant. there is a chance where you can still get pregnant even if he pulled it out. i mean while he pulls it out the sperm can still shoot out and it could travel inside your v****a. so just use a condom every time then. birth control isnt always effective either because for it to take full effect you would have to take the pill everyday for a certain amount of time. if you have sex and you took the pill for only like 1 day for example you can still get pregnant.

Pre-c** does actually have about 7k sperm cells in it. So yes, it is possible for you to get pregnant.
