So, I'm getting a set of small microdermals on my forehead (practically in my hairline) next week, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them? I'll post pictures of the procedure and such afterwards. ^_^

I dont have one.. but I personally dont like the idea of perminent peircings mainly I remember how much my surface peirceing got cought on things andI dont want to even think of the pain that wouldbe if you tuged on one too hard and it came out.
I dont know why Ilike the idea of transdurmal implants more then microdurmals Im weird

Proud to be a polite Duremite...
While I don't have any yet, I have a huge microdermal project planned involving six of them spaced out in a line from the top of my navel piercing up to my sternum, and I would like to get a permanent microdermal corset on my back as well, so please let me know how the procedure goes for you smile And don't forget to post pictures.
...Because who can resist Moira and Natasha? <3

Well, I got them done about 2 months ago and they're coming along easily. They healed alot quicker than surface piercings (I have had my sternum for over 2 years now, and its perfectly healed!) and was easier to clean and avoid traumatic blows. I would definitely recommend them, but go to someone experienced!!!

Someone should move this to "body and surface piercings"

~Eurydice~ Someone should move this to "body and surface piercings" microdermals/dermal anchors aren't piercings. they're actually closer to transdermal implants. (not to come off rude, just saying... )

I'm just saying if I was looking for them, I'd be looking under "body and surface", considering there is no "transdermal implants" section.

I want mircodermals SOOOOOO bad! But I'm an actor and dancer, and in my line of work, permanent piercings are a big NO, haha! I really wanted a bindi microdermal, one under my naval piercing, and others scattered around in pretty designs ^^ I'm so sad I can't get them, but good luck and DO POST PICS! heart

I love the idea of microdermals, but I'm not sure I'd ever get them. They're really cute, but I imagine that with my skin issues, they'd be asking for trouble.

I am NOT pro micro.
Now this doesn't mean i think people SHOULDN'T get them. by all means do what you will just know they take ALOT of attention to remotely heal.
while I am not all for micros i do install them @ the shop I work for.
Here is why im not Pro Micro: If you know the how the body works with healing things like transdermals you can see how micros will heal.
Micros (like trans) will never fully heal. While they more than likely will heal to a comfortable state any irritation caused to it will set it nearly back to step one.
It also seems like people are using micros as a surface piercing "Quick fix" Ive heard people say and seen people type how they heal so much faster and require so much less care. neither is true.
Micros have been around fro 2 years-ish which means that the ones that were installed day one have only been healed (if at all) for about 6-8 months.
Ive taken out nearly 2x more micros than i have installed.
I think micros look great and given you take care of them and give them the attention they require they can be amazing but due to thier high rejection rate and the general population thinking piercings are healed with peroxide im just not all for them.
(not saying anyof you are healing your piercings with peroxide lol)
/end rant
