Hello. Finally photographed stuff from my printmaking class last semester.
Both prints were carved out of a linoleum block, the first one, 'Eve', measures roughly 15x24 inches while the second unicorn one is about double that size which roughly adds up to a ******** ton of linoleum.

By the way, those little black lines in the white spaces are called 'pick up', and there a fact of printmaking life. They like to happen especially in large spaces of carved out linoleum, which were abundant, particularly in the second piece. The more you know!

Figure out the peach thing on your own, here's a clue: french.

Lino prints? Wow, that takes me back to my highschool years. We did lino prints for a semester. I remember carving the base during one of my english classes lol. Did you try screen printing in your printing class?

No, we focused on lino since my professor had her master's in it. ut we did make t-shirts! We carved the designs out of lino and ran them through the press on shirts instead of paper, and it actually worked really well! I wish i have a camera so i could show some of them off...i did a really cool one with an owl and another with an octopus teapot.

I love the tree texture in the first and the smoke in the second. Lino gives a really great old world feel to pictures. Its a shame you didn't do multi colours <3

color-reduction prints would have been quite the ambitious under-taking on a scale this size.

some did do one though, and it was pretty cool looking. I did play with some color for the unicorn one, using gouache and coffee washes, but unfortunately, none of the pictures came out well.

i'd love to reprint them with color ink on color paper, to give them a more vintage poster look. Maybe something to look into this summer when i move back home.
