Okay, so, I've got a question! DnD style.
I'm a DM, and my NPC, who unfortunatly is very close to a PC, who happens to be a vampire, is in a weird situation, and I want other DMs ideas on how to deal with it.
Okay. So, NPC (named Phillip) was drained by the PC (who I'm calling Vampy). So, Phillip is dead, and should be a vampire in 2 nights. Yay for him. However, BEFORE that time, his body is found, and an attempted ressurection happens. What happens? Because, he's a vampire, who's living...
What I did? Made the ressurection fail, awakening Phillip, but he was still dead, so he was a vampire, who was awake. The people who did the resurecting then killed him, because of the vampireness.
What would you do other DMs?

A Resurrection spell, in my games case, would bring the creature back to living life. He would no longer be any sort of undead, zombie, vampire or what not. A Will Save would be appropriate though intellegent undead should get a +4 to said save. Think about it. They ARE corpses after all. ^^

question to hopefully answer your question. Was Phillip ALREADY a vampire before the 2 day time? If not, then he would be resurrected as a normal character. If yes, then he would be resurrected as if they were resurrecting a vampire, in which case he'd stay a vampire.

*sigh* Now I'll have to come up with some crazy story as to why it happened.

You could make him a half Vampire, it is out of the Lubris Mortius book of the undead, it is a cool template.
