As promised, Kiyoshi hung around, staying close when she could, and trying, for all intent and purpose, to pretend as if she had made a home of the small pond and tree. The last thing she wanted was for Usiku to be forbidden from wandering this far out if this lioness holding him captive had any suspicions about the leopard female.
She hadn't seen a lot of him in the last few weeks, month? Maybe longer, she lost track of the days, well, never really kept track in the first place. They schemed, and talked, and gradually a plan was coming together. What would tonight bring, she wondered? Good news? Bad news? No news? Would her new friend even make it tonight?
She wasn't used to worrying this much, so she hoped the answer was yes. Her every muscle was pensive at night as she saw the sun sink, wondering if they'd finally taste success, or defeat.
It was only till a while later that that leopardess might hear a ruffle through the grass, but at first, it wouldn't be the one she hoped for. It was a hare, scurrying quietly, calmly along the grass, then shot off when it found its hole, anxious to get into is cozy little home and settle for the day, vanishing once more into the grass.
But soon it got darker, until finally the sky had turned a darkish shade of blue, and only then would the leopard be able to leave as Sukari retired. After a while, she'd allowed him once more to wander a it further and pick any place to spend the night.
He moved quietly through the grass, crouched, just in case he might find any meal on the way, but there wasn't any. He swished his ears and padded carefully along as the night grew darker, towards the small pond where he'd met Kiyoshi, he hadn't been there in a while. Would the female still be there?
Finally, he caught that lficker of light reflected in the water, and moved swiftly out of the grass. "Kiyoshi? You there? " The male's fur was slightly messy, but that wasn't uncommon; today he'd had to watch the cubs, and he'd had to play again. But he'd grown since the first time he'd seen Kiyoshi; he was larger, and a bit stronger, as with Kiyoshi, he'd managed to catch more food at night aswell, at least when he had the chance to meet her.
Her ears shot up, head turning to look on towards the escaping Hare, and she mentally sighed. Maybe she should've hunted before hand. Usiku mentioned needing to continue himself to stay in shape, but once or twice couldn't hurt. Lack of foresight was often frustrating though.
The pale female settled back down to continue her vigil, tucked comfortably against the trunk of the tree. When he came into view at last (or rather, when his voice reached her ears and his scent her nose), she sat up a bit straighter and looked down.
"Usiku!" Whispered she, excitedly, and she leapt down to meet him, bounding a few steps forward. "You made it, are you doing alright?"
Gray eyes took in the sight of him then, blinking in surprise as she noticed he'd gotten bigger, and it looked like leaner too.
He smiled when he heard her response; he'd been worried for a moment she thought he wouldn't return. Soon he caught sight of her white fur, spotted and striped, leaping down from where she had rested and come over, and without hesitation, he headbutted her in greeting.
"I've been fine! Haven't had much chances to get away lately. " He sighed, sitting down and lifting both front paws from the ground, batting at the leopardess sort-of playfully. "Guess Sukari makes me do more because I handle more now. " He smiled meekly.
"How about you? "
