Isilo had been wandering around more so lately. She and her new found feathered friend Mai wandered around effortlessly in the pridelands, looking for adventure, trying to think of what they wanted to become as they grew older. Mai was older then Isilo, true, but they acted the same, both childish in many respects. Isilo had the greatest dream of all though, she wanted to be a great lioness.
She wanted to be one so bad like her mother.
Mai didn't talk to much, but she watched over Isilo now and again if she flew over her while hunting. Mai didn't like to talk, others said that she was too strange and small to talk to other more important creatures, though isilo wasn't that way at all, Mai was one of her friends.
"I'm bored," she spoke to Mai, but Mai was gone again into the clouds, sighing Isilo was alone again, with her head full of dreams.

Ruffian had just finished a run, letting her mind work things out while she exersiced her body. Things at home were certainly different, though, and though Ruffian enjoyed the closer that the two of them got, she also got a bit nervous. What was she supposed to do now? Her mind always turned to her father, but she couldn't remember too well the interaction that her parents held for one another. She knew that they cared for one another, that much was certain, but it was in the way that they conveyed those feelings; that's where she couldn't remember a thing.
Her body lightly damp from sweat, as the sun was beginning to warm up the Pridelands, she glanced around as she heard a noise. It sounded like a voice, but she couldn't quite see anything, either. "He....llo?" she asked, glancing around slowly, hoping to catch the sudden movement of something. Since her attack she was much more careful with what she did, and she rarely ventured so close to the borders of the firekin, as well. She had healed up well, no real evident scar on her, except for one small one where her shoulder had been ripped open.

Isilo immediately ducked down when she heard a voice seem to answer her while she spoke aloud. Weaving her tiny red pelted body through the taller grasses before her towards hte force a determined gleam could be seen apparent in her eyes. Someone was here, but who? Another lion, or a lioness? Oh! Maybe they would want to play a game with her or somehting, yea, that'd be fun, but she had to look strong and unafraid of whoever it was. She had to be tough to be a lioness when she grew older so she could be just like her mommy!
"RAWRRRowl" she exclaimed, diving out from the grasses towards a rather tall black figure, almost crashing into her legs Isilo ran in a circle and head her head high and proud. "Hi!" she was happy, the obvious smile on her maw gave it away. "Who're you? I'm Isilo, Isilo'Ilangabi, I like your tail," she muttered , peering at the older lionesses tail, why wasn't hers like that?
Oh right, she had to grow into it.

Ruffian didn't know what to think of the little jackal pup that had rolled into her lap, nearly literally. She took a step back, peering down at her curiously, her brown eyes watching her. Well, she seemed...alright. She guessed. "Hi," she echoed, unsure as what to say. She had finally gotten used to the lions, and now she was learning how to converse with the other creatures that lived in this pride. Hmmm....
She didn't move, just relaxed her muscled before replying to the little pup. "I'm a lioness that lives here," she started, unsure if the jacakl actually lived in the lands or was just lost. "I'm Ruffian...nice to meet you, little Isilo." She swished her tail behind her, cocking her head to peer a bit more at the silly pup. "Can I help you?"

"HI!" Isilo echoed back as if it was a game, but truly she was just excited with meeting such a cool looking lioness as this...this, Ruffian! Ruffian was her name, "I like your name Ruffian, its cool and...edgy and stuff," she said with a silly grin on her maw as her tail swayed back and forth, back and forth behind her. Light green eyes watched Ruffian's brown orbs, and she smiled still, though why was Ruffian looking at her like that?
"You live here too? Cool! So do I with my mom and dad and siblings, they are cool, my mom is a lioness too yea know!" she beamed, obviously still in her dreamlike thoughts, "My dad's a lion too, they are strong and sly and stuff, I want to be a strong lioness too, how long did it take your tail to get that way? A long time?" Isilo peered at her own, and started going in little circles trying to grab it with her teeth, "I want mine to be like that but its still kind of fluffy..."

"Huh?" what the first thing that came out of the black lioness' mouth after the jackal had spoke. Wait, why was she talking so fast, and what was she so excited about? Plus...eh? Her parents were lions? Maybe it was an adoption thing, and she just thought she was a lioness. Maybe she'd never seen a real jackal. The lioness didn't really know what to think about this, and without realizing it, she had sat herself down and stared at the ground for a moment, fighting with herself if she should just tell her the truth or let the pup play with her lie until she realized the truth. It could bite her in the butt, but Ruffian would play with her game. Besides, sometimes the truth her a little too much.
"Well....it did take a while, since I'm an adult and you're....a cub and all." It felt strange to lie to such a sweet face, but if it made her happy... "Plus you have to be practicing your pouncing too. Have you been doing that? All that bouncing can help your tail stretch out more." She lowered her head and gave the pup a wink, quite enjoying herself in this game now.

Isilo tilted her head at Ruffian as she sat down and swayed her tail, and hopped around Ruffian in a circle, "Why'd you sit down are you tired? Your pretty..." Isilo said randomly staring up at Ruffian with a look of awe in her eyes. "I hope someday I'm as pretty as you, then maybe I can find love like mommy and daddy found in each other, that'd be so great don't you think? Do you love someone? Does someone love you? You're so pretty...I wonder if a lot of lions reallly like you," she said with a grin.
"Yea I'ma cub, my mom and dad aren't as tall as you though, they told me a story of how daddy was cursed by a god into a shrunken form of himself, I think they did it to mommy too, but I think I'll grow so big! Dont'cha think so?" she asked with a giggle, at the word pounce Isilo did exactly that and pounced forward. "Yea oh yea I catch hopper bugs all the time, fishing is hard though, I don't really like getting int he water its cold," she confirmed with a nod, then sat back as if to mimic Ruffian.
"I wish my tail would grow faster..."

Woah. Ruffian hadn't run into such an energetic little kid, and she really didn't know what to do. Like, really didn't know. She stood there for a moment, letting everything that the cub said soak in, since it was rolling around in her head before getting absorbed in. "Uuhh, well, thanks, I think," she started, referring to the compliments that she was getting. She was just a black lioness, but the jackal must of liked the colour black, or something.
She shook her mind, letting it straighten out so she wouldn't seem so confused. She picked right back up from where she started. "So your parents were cursed, huh? You gotta be careful when you run into big lions with wings," she said informingly, hoping that Isilo held onto that information. Ruffian had never crossed paths with one, but her mother used to tell her and her brother stories about gods. "Plus you have to be patient. The more you wish for something, sometimes the longer it'll take for you to get it."

"Okay, I'll be careful? And really? Awww, thats not fair, I want a cool tail now!" Isilo ran around in a circle and panted, and went to sit next to Ruffian, leaning on her leg. Ruffian was indeed pretty and cool and stuff, much more cool cause her color and look was so different from others she had seen from far away.
"You're like, the coolest lioness ever, I want to be just like you is that okay please? I really want to and...your so cool!" she gave her giant vibrant green puppy eyes and the puppy lip, her tail wagging a mile a minute behind her, "Please, is that okay?"
Isilo was hoping it was...really she was...

"Just like me?" the lioness echoed, curious as to what she meant. "Well, you could try, but your coat colour isn't anything like mine." She laughed at this, pointing out the blunt truth. She was a little concerned that her mother didn't tell her much but...maybe Isilo was a mirror of her mother, in every way. Eh, that sounded interesting.
"Didn't your mother ever teach you to be patient, though? Becaus if you are..." she started, trying to feed her a lesson. "Then maybe you'll be even better then me!" That might do it. Little lies were so easy to feed to gulliable children.

"Yea but, I have dark marking on me which are...sorta your color, so..that has to count," Isilo said, ears perked forward, she was thinking now. Was there a way to make herself black? Maybe if she rolled around in enough dirt or something...hmm. "Yea, mommy tells me things, but I hear things too, see em' to so I try to do it my own way...but hmmm..."
She thought again, maybe it was better to be a bit more patient.
"I guess I can try but, I want to be cool like you and like, I don't want to wait too long ya know?" she said with a silly grin looking up at Ruffian. She was so much taller then Isilo...wow, she hoped she got that tall.

Ruffian plopped herself down on her stomache so she wouldn't have to lower her head so much; it really strained her neck to the point of irritation. And she didn't want to take that irritation out on the pup, as she would rather take it out on a preybeast later when she went out hunting. The grass tickled against her sides as she glanced over at Isilo, expecting her to run up and all around her soon.
"Well, how about this?" she said, her patience returning. "How about those black stipes on your legs can be like me, but the rest of you that's a rusty colour is all you? Then you can be me, but also yourself." Her tail flopped in the grass behind her, swating at a stray fly that just wouldn't quite leave her alone.

Isilo mimicked Ruffian as she laid down, so did she. A great big grin plastered on her maw, her tail swaying back and forth even for how short and fluffy and stubby it was. Isilo nodded and pawed at the ground before her, and nodded at Ruffian, "Yea, that sounds cool so I can like, be like you always and be me too so its like, two is better then one! I'll definitely be the strongest and greatest lioness evar!"
She was excited and wriggled as she laid down in anticipation for when she would get a cool tail and be as tall as Ruffian, she hoped it would come soon. Watching Ruffian's tail flop in the grass, Isilo was intrigued, stood and tried to pounce on it, making tiny growl and bark noises at the same time.
Though really...she was attempting a roar at it.

Ruffian laughed at Isilo, humored with the sounds that the pup was making. She would never sound quite so well as a lion, but hey, if she tried, then maybe she really could. She swished her tail around, lagging it a bit so that Isilo could pounce on it if she really tried.
Ruffian didn't mind so much the pup, not that she seemed to calm down a bit. That bubbling excitement was something that made her nervous when she was around children, but with practice she was learning to let her frustrations go and forgive them for not knowing what they were doing. Patience was definately a good lesson to learn.
"What're you up to?"

Isilo was having an epic battle with Ruffian's tail but it was eluding her with her every strike! Perhaps she was just too slow, she'd have to train herself harder to be a better pouncer and fighter. She'd need to get faster if she wanted to be as cool as Ruffian, definitely for sure! As Isilo was going to attempt to pounce again, her butt in the air, crouched down, ready to strike...her ears flicked and she stood up straight and grinned her silly grin.
"Nuthin'"
Isilo sat next to Ruffian again and yawned...she was tired now, hmm, she wondered if cool lionesses like Ruffian took naps too.
