I am sick and tired of all the coarseness that some of you have been displaying since the Avatar panel at SDCC.

Namely, some of the Zutarians.

I know that all Zutarians aren't acting so crassly, and I apologize to those who are acting with dignity. There are many who are taking this in stride, and I thank them.

But there are, of course, those who AREN'T.

I speak of the people who think it is imperative to cut down any and all happiness and hope that the trailer gave to other people of the fandom.

What do you think gives you the RIGHT to do so? Honestly. Answer me that question.

If it were ANY OTHER PAIRING that got shut down, perhaps with the exception of Kataang, there would not be this debacle. People would be upset, certainly, but there wouldn't be this great uproar. You know why? I'll tell you why.

Those other people understand that there are OTHER PEOPLE in the fandom who are happy about this. The others understand that they will not always get what they want, and they understand first and foremost that it is JUST A SHOW.

Further more, in this show, pairings are NOT THE ONLY THING worth paying attention to. What about the plot? What about character development? What about the CHARACTER'S happiness? If Zuko is more happy with Mai than with Katara, be happy FOR HIM. Better yet, be happy for your fellow fans, who are nearly exploding with glee at this news!

You know what? I'm a rather die-hard Tokka shipper. I LOVE it. It is one of the many joys in the show for me. But, if shots came out of Toph with some other guy, or Sokka with some other girl, I would not even dream of causing this insanity that the select few seem determined to cause. I would be a bit sad, but I would not run around and tell everyone, "Oh, he's just using her," or, "It was just a dream." I'd move on. I'd go, "Well, if that's what's going to happen, it will happen." Even if Taang happened, which is my most HATED ship in the Avatar 'verse, I would not do the stuff some of you guys have been doing.

I can almost hear you now, "Oh, but Tokka isn't particularly canon, and Sokka's been seen with plenty of other girls." Zuko has been seen with TONS of girls (Song, Jin, as we can see Mai), as WELL as Katara (Aang, Jet, Haru), and I DEFY you to think of a time when Zutara was INDISPUTABLY canon.

What really makes me angry more than anything is the pissy Zutarians who claim that Avatar has lost half it's fan base. This, to me, is as good as treachery. You claim, YOU CLAIM, to be a fan of a show, to be a DIE-HARD fan, and yet as soon as something DOESN'T go your way, you're going to ditch the show? How does that work out in your head?! Did you ever really like the show to begin with?

And yes, for those curious, I am a strong Maiko supporter. I've supported it since Return to Omashu, and behind Tokka, it is my second favourite ship. However, my support of this ship doesn't make the above statements any less true.

wise words, besides people need to understand that surprises in this show are something that make it special ((like the season 2 finally)) and that even do zuko kissed mai, that doesnt mean their going to end together, i mean at the crossroads of destiny trailer everybody ((zutara fans and others alike)) were saying they would end up together wrong! and even do i'm also a maiko supporter i wouldnt be surprised should zuko and katara end up together, nor would i stop watching the show because of it.

I understand what you mean. I'm fully aware of the fact that the Maiko kiss could be a red herring as far as 'Who will end up with whom', just like the Zutara cave scene was in the Season Two trailer. I'm not referring to the people who say 'It was just a teaser', I'm referring to those who are taking their frustrations out on other people and the fandom. Taking your frustrations out on people is unacceptable in any circumstance, but having it be over such a insignificant thing as a show pairing is what is really wrong about this situation.

It's not that big of a deal. One, it's a show. Two, no one should get angry over that teaser. No one knows who is going to end up with who. I'm still a Zutara fan, and I will be happy no matter what happens. 3nodding

nothing as dramatic as knives... just a lot of gasping and freaking out and general joy/despair as people's ship was made or broken. XD;
