Last Sunday we had a good message. I forgot most of it, since I was working the tech(lighting and slideshow, I do lights) booth I couldnt take many-or any, for that matter- notes. It was about talking to God.
Here are some key points that I remember.
1) We don't often hear God because we don't really expect God to be speaking to us. Sometimes his speaking is a simple thought or feeling that came from nowhere and leads you in the right direction, or he can talk through other people. But sometimes Satan will use the same methods, so be careful.
2) Sometimes the reason why God is asking us to do anything for him is because we didn't do the last thing he asked, or because he knows we aren't willing to do what he's asking.
3) The more sin in our lives, the quieter God's "voice" gets.
This kinda fits in with my favorite song "Voice of Truth" mrgreen

Ok, these sermons are in three parts. They may not be completely followed because it is somewhat based on the doctrine of the nazerene church. But nonetheless there are good lessons. This These are the articles of faith. Also note, this is a three part sermon and will be shown in...well three posts. ok so to get started...
The trinity.
We believe in one eternally existent infinite God, holy in nature, attribues, and purpose; that He, as God, is triune in essential being, revealed as father Song and HOly Spirit.
In God's word we see the Unity of the trinity. Matthew 22:37 says "Jesus replied, ' love the Lord, your GOD with all you heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind." Genesis 1:26 says "Then God said. "let US make man in OUR image in OUR likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the b irds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
THis shows that before there was man, there was another at God's side, when he said "us." thus being his son Jesus, and the Holy spirit.
The the father is creator. God the Holy spirit is creator, and christ the son of god is Creator. Check out colassiians 1:15-16

sorry we havent postes sermons in a while. our church has been doing articles of faith. I think we are done but Im not sure. when we are we will continue on with them. smile
