After looking up shaved ice and then Kakigori(A Japanese variation on the classic snow cone), I delved deeper into the world of Japanese desserts and found a lot more tasty treats. Has anyone here had the chance to try/make a Japanese treat, and if so, do you have a favorite? (no, Pocky and such DO NOT constitute a dessert. That's like comparing M&Ms to Chocolate Cake a la mode)

wow, Kakigori's are so amazing. :3
i'm only able to get them once a year so i try to savor the moment ^^.

I've never had a Japanese dessert. And I haven't heard of any either. gonk
I should look for some of the ones people have said here.

WEll, I have had pokky(sp?), It's like a shortbread stick with dried icing in 3 different kinds of flavors, (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry).

Mine is green tea ice cream, even if the texture's kinda gritty, it's really good.
