A feeble nod was given to his explanation, and it gave her something to grasp to. They both had agreed to go with it. Still, she should have known better, somehow. After much counting, and hearing no yells of anger from the male, Nahanni was finally able to calm her breathing and clear her vision. Paws moved limply off her face, but she kept to the ground tiredly.
With energy gone and nerves fried, she still had no clue as to what the kitsu beside her was feeling. Nor did she dare pry after that episode. Still there was enough sensed, and apprehension, to make the femme peer up nervously to Iku. A yawn, before he settled on the ground as well. She was surprised, but her own yawn halted any doubts along with his own choice of words. An attempt of a smile twitched her maw in a pathetic way. "Of course." Her eyes widened when he made to move, and she froze when she spotted the lifted paw. What was he going to do? Torn between curiousity and tension, Nahanni blinked when the paw simply withdrew to it's original spot.
She was tired and weary, but had sensed the same sort of presence her parent's were known for. A calm reassurance brought forth whenever they pulled her in for hugs. Tucking ears back, she reached out with her nose till it rested against his paw. Her eyes closed sleepily.

Under normal circumstances, he would've been fighting tooth and nail against the impending sleep he felt. To close his eyes to the world and leave himself vulnerable; that was something he was most certainly against. Yet, this time, there was no stopping the onslaught of rest his body and mind so desperately needed. Taking his eyes off his own paw, the attempted comfort, he looked to the femme. Her agreement made another smile show, despite the fact that it looked wearier than the last.
Yawning once more, he flexed his muscles just enough to get in a good stretch without moving much. Maybe letting himself sleep peacefully wouldn't be so bad. Maybe just this once. And honestly, he didn't mind so much this time. Something told him he would be safe here. And while he normally wouldn't trust the random little somethings in his head, he found this one's claim hard to dispute. He did feel safe here and calm, too. It was a nice feeling.
Coming out of his internal one-sided debate, he was surprised to feel something against his paw. Blinking, he looked down. Was this her form of comfort? He couldn't deny that... it was comforting to know someone cared. Since waking up one day as an adult with no idea who or where he was, no one had cared for him. Hesitantly, he nosed at her hair, then set his head on his paws, careful not to disturb her. "Rest well, dear Nahanni," he muttered.

Nahanni yawned herself, feeling drained from her earlier activity. Perhaps it just wasn't supposed to be. Those memories remained hidden as strongely as before; perhaps for the better. She curled her paws in under her to stay warm, tails of course circling around her form. A much needed nap was coming, whether she wanted it or not. Either way, the fatigue replaced the anxiety, and Nahanni was calm.
Her eyes winced close when Iku turned to glance down, avoiding any awkwardness. She layed still, and soon succumbed to sleep. Not before feeling a soft touch to her hair and allowing a tiny smile twitch her maw. A small hum was given in answer to his sleep well.
