Oh, man. I can see it now. A Punny invasion where the infected are doomed to speak with only puns forever. And it would be orchestrated by Rina, the Pun Master. gonk

::laughing:: See, this is why I love you guys. No one understands when I try to explain. I have really missed this place.

Well, we love you. I think. smile Stick around! Wear some red. It's good for you.

I might, when I'm Vi. But as Niki, I prefer purple.

Vi who now?

Sort of an... alternate personality. I introduced her to a few GIB members in the old Mothership forum before I even joined, because my personality was out of commission due to an unfortunate incident with a geometric rant regarding triangles. She was rather more well-recieved than I and joined my interactions later for a week or so before retreating again. She is still present in my mind and occasionally emerges, writing in red with a more protective, mature logic and occasional aggression towards threatening or outwardly violent people. Would you like to meet her?

Cool. My personalities are both me. That is to say, they are different, but they both identify as me and each other. If that makes any sense. And I like to speak about them as if there were a third one speaking, but in truth I'm always one of them. Sometimes they are more separate, sometimes they are more merged. And I'm never really sure that they exist. It's a lot more fun than it must sound from what I wrote. Also, I can literally keep myself in check because "myself" is two people who are both me. Also, I don't have any of that bothersome "separate memories" business. The shift from one to the other is only reflected in how I act and think.

It does sound fun, though. Mine is seperate from me, with a backstory. I also have about twenty other characters living in my mind, with their own backstories, individual personalities, and colors for RP-type stuff. I prefer being Vi around the GIB, but Leilia fits in better with the Believers, as does Annabelle, and Derrick likes the GCD. Andreas used to hang out with Vi and me at that Milk Cafe place I used to frequent. Christine bumps threads sometimes and helps me out in the Life Issues threads. Jake doesn't talk much, and Loraine hates me. Sophocles hates everything. Breanna is really just shy, but she'd do well most places, and Jasmine sings along to the songs that play on my laptop. Mariana spends most of her time listening in on gossip and trying to get me to those internet-sex chats. Aidan's not old enough to get involved in any conversations. Grey stores all I know about the plotline and Ruby gives technical advice. The real Niki doesn't spend much time here, except to do jigsaw puzzles. Those are all I can think of at the moment, but I assure you that there are more of me. ^_^

Mine would then be a low-key form of Multiple Personality Disorder, because there's no identity dissociation here. I'm me and the other one is me too. And I really don't feel that it's a disorder. In some ways, it lets me function better than others, providing a second point of view on everything.

It's fun. I can get up to 20 times as much social interaction experience out of a conversation if I work really hard. And writing the backstories gives me biographical and authorial experience. It's really quite a brilliant way to keep my mind alive.

Not quite. They have no memories of my life that I don't have. They're more like the characters in a book, but without the book, or best friends who don't have physical forms.

Indeed... Vi? But I'd hate to have the old ones back. They were quite good in their time, but they would be unable to function well among the people of today.
