Kayne smirked and shook his head.
"Nope. But now I know I can keep my fists to myself. You don't need me," he smirked, reaching out to set her swords down gently. "You're truly an assassin? How on earth did you manage to fall into that job?" he asked, leaning back on his hands.

Jess smirked and picked up her sword.
"I dont know." she smiled drawing it a little and watching the exposed part of the blade glint in the lamp light. "I quite like the thought of a man defending my honour." smiling she closed the sword and put it to one side so she could face him.
"my father." she said looking at her hands. "He brought me to Japan to train. He wanted me to be the best and I wanted to please him. So I did what he wanted and became one of the best."

Kayne smirked a little as he listened to her and reached out to slip his hand over hers.
"Well, you know me. Anyone so much as sneezes in your direction the wrong way, and I'll be more than happy to take care of them for you," he smirked slightly. "Thank you Jess, for telling me this. It really actually means a lot to me that you trust me enough to tell me something like this," he smiled and lifted her hand so that he could place a soft kiss on her fingers.

Jess smiled and moved to lean against him.
"I wanted to tell you before but I thought you might freak out. Im retired now. well at least untill I am back on form."
she grinned and closed her eyes for a moment.
"so there you go. You know everything about me."

Kayne laughed a little and reached up to tilt her head back so he could kiss her deeply.
"Well, I am honored to know the full you," he smiled, running his fingers through her soft curls. After a few moments, some things started to click into place and again his brow began to arch a little.
"So when Cirrie ran away and you said you knew people... Wait... Shuhei? He's connected isn't he?" he asked.

Jess was just getting comfortable when the cogs in Kaynes brain clonked into place.
"There are two gangs that run Japan." she said slipping her hands into his hair. "the Kasaharas and the Gennais. Shuhei is the only son of Hideyoshi Gennai.but I promise you no-one will worsip and protect her more."

A frown slipped over Kayne's brow at this new revelation and he felt a slight uneasiness settle inside of him where his sister was concerned. It was the first time in a long time, and he tried to make it go away, but it was there now.
"You..." he started then stopped. He could hardly blame Jess for it. "Does she know? Do you know if she knows?" he asked looking into her eyes.

Jess prepared herself for anger but none came. Smiling she nodded.
"she knows and has become part of the family." She said with a smile. "is father and step mother love her to bits." she smiled at the thought of her friends and their happy family. "she is happy and safe."

Kayne's frown deeped despite the slight relief he felt that at least she knew what she was involved in. But it didn't stop the pain that she had known and had not told him. All that time and he had not had a clue. Breathing in deeply, he looked off across the bedroom for a few moments, then forced himself to let it go. He had no choice.
"Well, as long as she knows and is okay with it, I suppose I'm okay with it as well," he said softly and looked back down at her. "Truly there are no more surprises, right?" he asked looking into her eyes.
