My boyfriend wants to do a genie costume (an original design, not Disney) and needs to dye his skin red. We've thought about using the Sharpie method that I use to dye wigs, but I don't think that's entirely safe. stressed I've also heard that you can use the spray can hair dye to dye your skin. Has anyone ever done a costume where you had to color your skin? What method should I use?

I did that once, but it didn't work very well. How red are you thinking? I just scrubbed off the dead skin and then sat in a bath full of red food coloring. You should've seen my mother when she came in -- she thought I'd slit my wrists.

He's not sure how red he wants himself yet. How much food coloring did you use?
