He curls up around my finger when he gets pissy.
Does anyone else have exotic pets? I also have a tarantula and hissing cockroaches

I used to rock some weird pets. We have a pets thread, too. You should post pictures and such here. :}

Is it true that cockroaches can be trained as easily as dogs?

Baron von Turkeypants Is it true that cockroaches can be trained as easily as dogs? I don't think so. They don't have a brain..literally. They have what's called a nerve stem or cord. (I forget the exact name) No central nervous system means they're a heartier creature. That's why you can cut off a roaches head and it will die nine days later of starvation.

I've never had an exotic pet. Although my Dad's friend owned a Sugar Glider.
A Sugar Glider is a small nocturnal mammal, almost like a miniature flying squirrel. They are extremely quick and hard to catch.

Hers sounded like a mix between a blender and a large dog only the pitch was a lot higher.

I read an artical. While it did not specify that they can be trained like dogs, they can be CONDITIONED using Pavlov's technique.

I had a tarantula once, but one of my friends is an arachnophobe, and when she came over my dad put her in the basement (without telling me). I live in Minnesota, and my basement can get pretty cold in the winter. So, the next day, when I asked my dad where she was, he told me that she had frozen to death while in the basement. gonk
I also had an Orchid Mantis named Francis. They're awesome pets, but they only live for about five months.

I put a dot of nail polish on the back of one in the spring and it grew into a huge mommy mantis. She didn't die until September when some bird got ahold of her. I remember feeding her stuff by hand and getting stabbed more than a few times with her pincers. XD

Well... I have a huge house spider in one corner of my room. I don't know what to name it but so far we're not on good terms with each other >.>. About a few weeks ago she bit me and my eyes started to get itchy and swell up. So, I'm kind of waiting for my cat to eat it. ^^" He likes to eat spiders sometimes....and sleep in the sink, drink water from the bath tub, and hide in my closet....

My cat likes to rip the legs off the spiders and watch them run around in circles for a few minutes before killing them and leaving them for someone to pick up.
