Brother_Ein KayCarol Brother_Ein Well, I like Lord of the Rings, Narnia... I like a lot of fantasy. 3nodding And then there's also manga. Real Bout High School, King of Bandits Jing, Negima. Fantasy is good. ^_^ Have you read any of the Brian Jacques Redwall series? Those are really good, too. As for manga, I've only read Angel Sanctuary and a few others. Sorry for my lateness. No, I haven't read any of those... maybe I'll look into them. 3nodding They're a little on the young side... most of the characters are mice and hares and badgers and such, but they're lots of fun. 3nodding And the food! Oh, the food he describes...

I've read most of the Redwall books and they're pretty good. It's full of epic battles and the food, as Kay said, makes your mouth water as you read.

I keep telling myself I'll go back to them, though... but all these other books keep coming up! I have a To-Read list as long as my... well, my husband's leg, since my legs aren't terribly long. 4laugh

Followed closely by Pearls of Lutra and Salamandastron (I always thought this was a strange name, especially in context of what it is...)

I enjoyed Salamandastron, too. 3nodding And it's a b***h to ask for it at the library... I had to sit down and stare fixedly at the name until I'd managed to split it into syllables. Which meant having to memorize how to spell it, too, since nobody can just guess at that unless they've read it. xd

Lost souls by poppy z. brite! It has vampires in it!! And gay-vampire love! :p If your PG-13 and arent afraid of gay-vampire sexyness then it is a fab book for you! (I read it and i really got sucked in the book, don't forget it is about vampires so do not read it if your stomach doesnt like horror stuff)
Terry pratchett, i have some audiobooks from his books, The Wee Free Men is the first of the Tiffany trilogy series in the world of discworld. (Zany&magical vibes aplenty!)
I would read the manga The Perfect Girl Evolution/The Wallflower (Recently i saw the anime series from it and it is funny as hell! blaugh

KayCarol K i m m e h Omg! They have turned one of my favourite books of all time into a movie!
The book's called Northern Lights, by Phillip Pullman and the series is called His Dark Materials trilogy or something.
But the movie, which has been given another name, is coming out in December. Can't wait =D
But yeah, that's a really good trilogy. The Pullman trilogy's on my list of books to read! If you find out the title of the movie, let me know, okay? I'd love to see that! I'm not entirely sure, but from what I recall, it was called The Golden Compass ?

K i m m e h I'm not entirely sure, but from what I recall, it was called The Golden Compass ? I suppose that would make sense, wouldn't it? xd I think I do remember hearing something about that, too, now that I think back on it. When we went to HP5 this weekend, we saw a preview for the first movie in "the Dark is Rising" series, which I remember reading some of and really enjoying a few years ago. 3nodding Hopefully, they'll do both series justice. kaze_32 Well, i just finished reading "Pet Sematary" by Stephen King. It was scary... kind of... well... yea, it scared the hell out of me. And well... I'm open to suggestions as well. I've read a lot of King, but that's one I haven't read. gonk Personally, his stuff gets a little too formulaic after a while for me. I really enjoyed reading "Hearts in Atlantis" by him, though. Less on the horror and more on the humanity side of things. Yora Lost souls by poppy z. brite! It has vampires in it!! And gay-vampire love! :p If your PG-13 and arent afraid of gay-vampire sexyness then it is a fab book for you! (I read it and i really got sucked in the book, don't forget it is about vampires so do not read it if your stomach doesnt like horror stuff) If you like vampires and horror, you might want to check out the Hollowmere series by Tiffany Trent when it's released later this fall. The first book is called "In the Serpent's Coils". I read a pre-release copy I borrowed from my boss at work (I work in a library) and it was fantastic. Yora Terry pratchett, i have some audiobooks from his books, The Wee Free Men is the first of the Tiffany trilogy series in the world of discworld. (Zany&magical vibes aplenty!) I'm a Pratchett fan, too. heart My favorite continues to be "Good Omens", co-written with Neil Gaiman (another of my favorite authors). Yora I would read the manga The Perfect Girl Evolution/The Wallflower (Recently i saw the anime series from it and it is funny as hell! blaugh I'll have to see if I can find some of that at the local bookstores, since I'm pretty sure our library doesn't have it. We've got lots of manga, but it's mostly older stuff (Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, etc). We've got some Full Metal Alchemist and some Bleach, but otherwise, our manga is sadly limited. crying
