Raolain narrowed his eyes and cursed under his breath as Cookie began to scream and attempt to dodge, to her, giant drops of water. Raolain hadn't wanted to expend this much energy so early, but he could think of no alternative at this point.
Raolain sighed and closed his eyes and began to repeat a over and over,"Sinair... sinair... "
With each repetition, Cookie grew larger and larger until she was the size of a grown human. Raolain shivered and slumped his shoulders and fatigue washed through his body. The sage was going to pay for this...
Cookie began laughing again when she realized what happened, and now the big bad water couldn't make her fall. She grinned ferally and pointed at the lizardman.
"Bignastylizarddienowdienownownownow!"
Cookie thrust her finger forward again and shouted,"NIZZRE' B'LUTHEL!"
Raolain smiled through his fatigue as Cookie herself cast a spell, and a lightning bolt shot forth from her finger to lance towards the sages familiar.

Genso heard the incantation, he saw the lightning, and he responded in kind. He thrust his free hand out before him and growled out in a raspy voice, "Aduro calamus aetas sex." From his palm burst forth six shafts of lightning energy that arced forward and flew through the air like arrows. Four of them collided in midair with the Fairy's incoming attack while the other two arced around it and continued for the enemy herself. "Damn," Leonard said from where he stood outside the battleground watching. "I'm gonna have to remember that one." Kazal said.

Raolain cursed again, and Cookie screamed as the lightning energy slammed into her, making her body convulse in a painful spasm before falling to her knees. She shook as small sparks of electricity flashed here and there on her body.
Cookie wobbled back to her feet and fixed the lizardman with a baleful glare,"NofairnofaircastingCookiesmagicbackathernonononofairatall!" She put her sword up into a guard position and advanced, but warily.
Raolain watched and ground his teeth. Cookie wasn't usually so cowed so fast. The rain robbing her of flight plus the pain of the lightning bolt must have rattled her... she'd need help. Raolain closed his eyes again and muttered,"Qee'lak su'aco." he slumped even further as he felt the energy leave him to fuel the spell. When it took hold, Cookies eyes widened and she began laughing again, and immediately rushed forward to slash her sword at the lizardmans neck, her movements and attack speed so fast they could barely be seen.

Cookie never stopped laughing as she spun and dodged and danced. She was moving so fast she seemed a black blur as she avoided the lightning bolts one by one. She spun around to attack again and abruptly stopped when she saw the lightning shroud over her opponent.
"Ooooooosoprettyprettypretty!"
Cookie pointed before her and intoned,"Chath Buat'leb!"
Instantly a large ball of fire popped into existence with a whooshing noise, and Cookie laughed as she pointed. The flaming sphere immediately shot towards her opponent, leaving a trail of fire behind it.
"Diediediediedieidie!"

Sage Drell raised a hand and uttered another incantation, "Unda paries, agito prorsus."
The water that had gathered about the battlefield due to the rain gathered together and formed a wall in front of Genso. Once the wall was formed it began to move forward, towards the fairy.
Genso, meanwhile, growled out a spell of his own.
"Terra asser."
His spell left him and reached out into the ground. Causing earthen poles to just up from the ground all around the fairy in a circle. The bars jutted up at angles so that they formed an enclosed cone with her in the middle.
Genso staggered under the strain of casting the spell. He might be well versed in spellcraft, but he did not have very much stamina for it.

Cookie's lower lip quivered as she saw her fireball enveloped and extinguished in the wall of water, then fell to her knees and sobbed when the rods of earth encircled her.
Raolain gnashed his teeth and screamed,"What are you doing you little fool!?"
"Toohardtoohardcan'twincan'twincan'twin!" Cookie cried in despair. Raolain ground his teeth in frustration. He hadn't wanted to pull off this much power, but it seemed he had little choice. He refused to be beaten by this old backwater sage.
Raolain closed his eyes and began building the chant, infusing his will into the spell. Cookie, still on her knees, began chanting as well, pouring her own will into the spell. They both spoke in perfect unison.
"Nau vrine'winith fashka... nau vrine'winith fashka... NAU VRINE'WINITH FASHKA!!!"
"Nau vrine'winith fashka... nau vrine'winith fashka... NAU VRINE'WINITH FASHKA!!!"
As they both screamed out the final chant, a bubble of invisible raw force erupted out of Cookie in a huge powerful shockwave. Cookie immediately collapsed unconcious, and Raolain fell to his knees, catching himself with one hand as he gulped for air.

The force of the shockwave caught the droplets of water as they fell from the sky clearing an expanding dome of still air. As the force struck the earthen rods that contained the fairy the rods buckled and shattered sending shrapnel flying in every direction. Fortunately for all the spectators the barrier around the battlefield stopped the earthen shards from striking them. Genso, who was inside the barrier however, was not so lucky.
Flying bits and chunks of earth slammed into him repeatedly over the span of only an instant. When that instant was up however, he felt as though he had been pummeled with a large blunt object. The lizard man fell to his knees, and then collapsed onto his side. He maintained consciousness, but only barely.
Genso thought to Drell.
"This battle is over. The winner is Raolain." Drell announced.
Drell then gestured at somebody that was standing nearby and that person, a youngish man in fine clothes wearing spectacles, came rushing onto the battlefield. He immediately ran up to Cookie and placed his hands on her. He began chanting some sort of spell, which he continued for a couple of minutes. When he finished his chanting he nodded with a satisfied look and then rushed over to Genso to repeat the process. When the man was done tending to him the lizard man was able to stumble to his feet with the man's help.
"Walter, can you take Genso inside and help 'im get comfy? Thanks." Drell said. "Raolain, you need any help takin' care o' your partner?"

Raolain did not answer immediately while he caught his breath. His face was drawn and haggard as if he'd run ten miles at a full sprint. Cookie was sitting up, but looked like she was extremely woozy and disoriented. She also seemed to have shrunk back to her normal size. Once they had unleashed their powerful spell, all the others in effect had dissipated.
Raolain didn't trust his voice not to falter, so only shook his head and slowly strode forward to scoop up the tiny fairy into his hands. She cooed sleepily as she nuzzled into his palm, causing Raolain to roll his eyes slightly as he left the battlefield. He was quite pleased he had managed to defeat the sage, but if truth be told, he hadn't expected his last ditch spell to actually work. Best if no one realized that...

Once the battlefield was cleared away the Sage turned to the two remaining combatants.
"So, which one o' y'all's next?"
Leonard turned to Xander.
"Wanna go now, big guy? Or wait till I soften him up for you?"

"Well! I did my stretching, Xyliah is covered with mud, i already took my jacket off. Let's do this!" And with that Xander and Xyliah started to move their way to the battle field.

The Sage watched Xander approach the battleground, and stretched his shoulders and neck," Well alright then, son. What kind of battle are ya'll hankering for?" He cracked his knuckles and waited.
