KirikoAkushi Well, JKR has said that Math certainly isn't her best subject, and I'm sure she wasn't expecting her books to be over-analyzed like this. However, Nearly Headless Nick died in 1492, according to the first book, and it's in the second book that he celebrates his 500th death anniversary, therefore their second year started in 1992. (Though people have pointed out that Nearly Headless Nick sometimes changes the amount of years he's been dead it seems, like by saying that he hasn't eaten in 400 years. However, I'd imagine he'd have paid more attention to the amount of years he's been dead when planning his death day party moreso than he would making some comment about it. Or JKR would have at least). Ack! No! Math against Math? That's so sad! Well... I don't know then... Everything is weird... That's why when I write my stories I do the math...

What year was the first book published?That would be the year he started. I know it wasnt 1991,I believe it was 1999,if I'm not mistaken.Any one have any ideas?
