I have to agree with the others when they suggest Photoshop. Nothing comes close to it's power, and once you use it, nothing bar your imagination and diskspace can stop you.

For anyone who does digital photography as well, Photoshop + ACR is generally the only thing needed.

I make my profiles on Paint.net is a free program you can download
and is like pictture editing

Its worth investing in CS3, if you don't want to pay the full price there are places on the internet you can look and get it for free (if you know what I mean).

Once you get the hang of Photoshop you won't want to change, if you can be bothered to learn it then fireworks is the alternative becuase it is very easy to use.

I do want to recommend fireworks. I know photoshop is the standard but Fireworks seems easier to use and "overall" do just as many things. The good part about fireworks is its integrated into flash. All tho know I bet photoshop it is too sense the buyout lol.

Anyways just wanted to let u know another good professional program is out there.

Agreed, fireworks is waaaay easier to use than photoshop, i made my site with it and it look real good smile not that i'm biased or anything...
