It's true people have no right to criticize others because of their body weight. Being Anorexic or Bulimic is extremely unhealthy, but people usually tell that to others in a bad way like saying " OMG you are SO gross Get a life!" Instead of saying " OMG. Anorexia and Bulimia is very unhealthy. You might get hurt."

Anyways. It's not healthy to be extremely over weight either. I don't really care. It's what people choose to do to their body. You either decide to work out or decide not to eat.

-EvilNaziPanda-
I think that no body should really be bothered about it unless its unhealthy
if its not then theres really no problems

I never liked to say harsh words about overweight people, but I feel as if they can sling harsh words to skinny people because they won't feel insulted.
I hate when people rabble at me when I feel offended if they call me playful things, or I decide to diet.
Dieting to me is trying to keep my body healthy, and in the process if I lose weight then that's fine. As long as I don't have any serious medical problems that children at the present are developing due to the trends of today.
Fast food restaraunts, a vast array of junk foods, sodas, candy etc.
And the utter propaganda. Let's take, Lucky Charms. Sure, it says "a part of a nutritious breakfast", but I rarely see anyone else eating the other things on the screen like a piece of fruit, a glass of milk, toast, or juice. It's normally just the cereal and the cartoons distract children enough already.
I can't say the blame is wholly on mediae and commercialism, but one can see where a lot is coming from.
I also take into account, "Could I do any better in that person's position?"

being anerixic and being fat are both unhealthy so people really shouldnt try to make themselves super skinny to be beautiful, and people shouldnt eat whenever they have spare time.

In some provinces in Canada, overweight/obese people have to pay extra for surgical operations. But for due reason; it actually costs more to operate on them. The procedures are longer, more equipment is needed to ensure the anasthetized patients fat doesn't collapse some of their organs, and other details that entail spending more money on overweight patients. I think thats an idea that should be looked at in other places as well.

Theres a problem where I live with body-types; I live in the middle of the largest Dutch-immigrant population outside of Holland, so (warning: generalization) the norm body-type is tall and slender-built. But bone type, metabolism, etc. is just what pertains to most of these people.
And then on the other side of the coin, theres the population that can't hang on to a good job or much money at all, which equals more money-wise food choices, which in consequence produce unhealthy people, in other words obese or overweight. It doesn't make sense to berate someones body type with a logical reason behind it.

Anorexia and Bulemia are good parts mental disorders as well; people in the extremes at either end of the spectrum should be helped for health's sake, but that doesn't mean by harrassing them.

i like people of all shapes and sizes what i dont like is when peolpe are pressured into loseing weight or gaining it. if your anoxeix thats your chose (i do not support it) be yourself and dont give a s**t about what other people say. cause as a fact if u notice wahat other people say it leads to obicity and anoxeria.(if ur fat n ppl say it u confort eat. if ur thin and ppl say ur tooo thin u become fat) its all bullshit. people just want to see perfection. i was fat n i choose to become thin because my friends were i became anorex i was happy being chubby and im glad to be bac u dnt have to be size 2 to be happy and have m8s and boyfriends (in say this cause alot of the time is girls) im stopping here cause this is painstakeingly long.

Why would you tell someone who is anorexic, to not worry and be themselves as if it's a personality trait and not a serious disease? Not many people choose to be anorexic and wake up one day and go, "hmm I think I'll become obssessed with my body image and start to destroy myself in hopes of becoming thin and staying that way by starving, binging and purging, and over exercising!" After that, I couldn't really decipher the rest of your post, so that's all I really have to say.

I think this has been mentioned but I used to think it was just words against fat people...but then I noticed all the tabloid attention on skinny people such as actresses as mentioned above.

Well I'm average...and I have lots of problems dealing with it. But my boyfriend is very very skinny he's about 5'6 and he weighs 110. And he gets alot of attention for being so skinny.

I really think that weight should be something that doesn't matter. People focus on it weight too much, and this obsession that we have with it is unhealty and corrupting. Now everyone thinks they have to be a certain way.

I know one voice can't exactly change much.

But I think focusing on weight is stupid. People need to focus their time productively.

I have lots of overweight family and it sucks to not be healty...but most overweight people...don't care to change from that.

<3

I agree ...
I'm the same size as your boyfriend and i don't get any attention for being the way i am. how ever my mom and her friends talk about dieting and peoples weights almost constantly. it's like they have nothing better to do then to quietly insult the people around them (themselves included). confused

sorry but that's messed up. anorexia is a serious mental condition. it's NOT just a bad habit like overeating. btw(alot of magazines doctor photos to make it look like celebs are anorexic/obese)

Annorexia isn't a choice, it's an illness, so it shouldn't be used as an insult.

that is a good point ppl shuldnt tease or discriminate ppl with this illness

Look, there is an easy way to simplify this for most of you. Do you want to know why people care about weight so much? Sex. It's because of sex and all the things you can't do with an extremely fat/skinny person that makes them a turn off.
