For me I would say it depends on what I am killing.
I really hate quests when you have someone with you as they keep getting in the way! For quests like that I tend to use daggers, preferably enchanted ones. ^^
My favourite to do the ruins, caves and forts would have to be the bow (in sneak mode) with a follow-up destruction spell (dependant on type of enemy). 3nodding

i love swords
they are a decent weight and have a good amount of damage
its also kick a** how u can use a shield with em
battle axes are also cool
