It's been a year and half since I've updated the Aberrant Story. I still feel as though the story has a lot of potential. More than any other story I've written - and I've written a lot of stories.
So I want to continue the story. I want to explore the characters and the universe and see where they take me. But I don't think that doing so on a forum is the best method available. So I'm considering taking the story off-line and working on it as an actual writing project. That means I'll be going over the entire text and revising it somewhat, as well as working out a full project bible, including a timeline and background dossiers for all of the characters. Eventually I might even try to get it published, or at least self-publish whatever it becomes.
At least that's what I want to do. What do you all think? Is this something worth pursuing? Is the project something that could work outside of the environment where it was born? Is this something that is of potential interest to a wider audience? Or should it remain a forum-fic and I devote my time and energies to something new and different?
I'm looking for input, so feel free to let me know what you think.
Also, if your name or likeness is one of the ones being used for the story and you don't want it used outside of these forums, please let me know immediately so I can make the necessary changes to the document.

Absolutely. I was most disappointed when the updates stopped coming, and both Linn and I jumped when Gendou-chan said something about the fic. In short, I'd love to see you pursue it further.

I think it would be wonderful to see this story get published and reworked on the level that you hope for. I know that a number of Modists would love to see it continued as well. Others would probably get wrapped up in your writing too, even if they aren't characters in the story. So, go for it! heart

I have no familiarity with said story. I will attempt to make time, read it, and return with input.

Also, I had another couple of semi-related questions, but those are best left personal. Expect a couple PMs from me this week.

I think you should continue it as a project. I genuinely liked reading this story, for the story itself, regardless of who was in it.

Go for it. Though, when you're done with it, please tell us, so that I know when to go about finding it and reading it. I'm rather curious how it will turn out, and I have always enjoyed your writing.
