I like those... very detailed, without seeming at all cluttered. 3nodding
But... piratecore?? That's a new one, at least to me! Any examples?

To be honest I don't ******** know, I got paid to draw pirate-y things not listen to their band or influences. As far as the detail is concerned, if you remove the hatching and cross hatching they're really not. I just don't like pool shading with india ink, having to dilute it and break out a sable or bamboo brush is a pain in the a**. What's more, they chose the second one image which to this day baffles me.

I dunno... the first one does seem like it'd be a better logo, but maybe they thought it was too steotypical? Probably a little short-sighted, though -- the more recognizable a logo, the better.
