HI smile Well, I just wanted to know if your parents or siblings do not go to church or believe and just to talk about it or whatever. I am the only person in my family who goes to church every sunday. It is VERY hard sometimes because what is most important to you may not be important to them at all.But there is always hope!
For those of you who are alone in your family in christianity, i just wanted to say that god has chosen you to be the spiritual leader of your family. He wants you to be the christian in any relationship and maybe because of you, nothing disastrous is happening to your family. smile Be strong for not only u but ur family and someday when the time is right God will open the hearts around you biggrin

awe we praying for you family's salvation biggrin
my parents are born again christians. they have been even before my sister was born. she's 17.
but anyway .. sadly we dont go to church but then again a church isnt the place, its the people in it. instead of going to church we do our bible studies every sunday night together as family directly from the bible and discuss meanings and such.
the reason for this is because my sister is autistic. my parents are scared that she's disrupt the sermon going on and not to mention my parents work night shifts saturday nights =/
yet thats no excuse for not going to church. so we try our hardest to learn what we can and have to.
besides that point my mom's side of the family arent born again christians... including my grandma whose been living w/ us since i was born. we have her join us in our bible studies but my parents are the ones who talk to her because she can only speak english a tiny bit and i cant speak tagalog that much =/

Good for you. I plan to be the only one in my family who goes to church while they are away in college. My mom doesn't think I'm serious but me and my friend are rooming together. She has a car so she can drive me. And If she can't I have my bike.

my family... good question really...

when my parents were married we would go to church every sunday and every wed. but agfter the divorce my dad stopped going, (I was about 12) and refused to bring us saying "it is a waste of my gas money" remember the exact moment, I did not talk to him for a while after that. Thank the lord I can drive myself now (they say he will provide and he does), I would have lost it otherwise ...

well now my dad is remaried and no body on that side of the family (including my step mom's family and her daughter) believes in christ... or well more like they used to, now they believe he exists but ignore him

on my mom's side however my entire family is deeply devoted to christ, and to our churches (same church, different buildings aroudn the world) my grandpa being a retired pastor, an my uncle is a pastor currently (but he lives halt way across the continent)

(to sum it up) my brother detests it, I attend it, half my family ignores it, and my mom only comes when I ask her to

We all go to church, but I go to a different one by myself.

I started going to my church a few months before my mother got the rest of our house to go to theirs.

I'm Pentecostal, they're Methodist. And somehow everything works together. biggrin

My parents do not go to Church. My dad is very angry at churches because when my mother died, churches claimed they were supporting us, while they really just asked for lots of money. My stepmom does not go to church. My siblings only go to church when "Awana" is open, for fun. I recently convinced my dad's parents to return to going to church. All of my family believes and has accepted Christ.

I find this thread to be somewhat interesting to me. See my whole family is Christian, except for my brother, I think he just believe's in God and Jesus and that is about it. I am the most Christian person in my family.

But one thing I try to do every night before I go to sleep is pray. I pray to God that my family, friends, their families, my family's friends, their family's, and so and so forth that they all sleep well and that nothing bad happens to them while you are resting.

I actually think this works more than you would think.

My Mother and Aunt were Pentecostal Church goers around the time I was born. So my brother and me were raised in a Pentecostal Church that was involved in the Word of Faith movement. My brother turned Atheist after the church elders began to console him (not sure what happen). So now he pretty much hates Christianity in every perspective.

Father = Atheist.
Mother = Not sure, confesses to be Christian.
Step-Father = Not sure, confesses to be Christian.
Brother = Atheist.

I don't know about my Stepdad, but my Mom's a weak atheist (she doesn't really believe in God, but she doesn't rule out the possibility) and my sister believes there is some sort of God-like being out there. My brother and sister are too young right now to decide their own views, but it seems likely that my brother will become atheist. My stepdad used to be a devout Christian and go to church all the time until he joined our family, and now I don't think he believes in God any longer, but I'm not sure. I've only been to church one time, when my family wanted to be polite to family friends who asked us to come with them.

I'm not entirely sure if my family(parents)believe in Christ. I never really asked,I just know my mom used to go to church. If I'm correct,I think I'm the only one who believes in Christ in my family.
