Keahi saw Blythe smile to himself and wondered, briefly, what he would be thinking about. He could guess... he was getting better at reading people. He hid a smirk behind his cup. Still not a good idea to encourage him beyond business.

A few moments later, when his plate was 90% empty, he wiped his mouth and picked up his drink and took a sip "mmm now this is nice" he said as he took another sip. "The company is great, the atomosphere is perfect, nice warm fire beside us, I am glad to have come here.

Tonight has been good, thank you for comming with me" he said to the other, not about to leave now of course but still, he was thankful to have gotten out and to have the others company.

"Of course," Keahi smiled. "I saw a packmember in need and was happy to oblige by helping you out." He nodded as he spoke, then drank down some more coffee.

Blythe took another sip of his drink before placing the cup on the table, hands still wraped around it for warmth. "well then, as stated earlier, all of this is my treat, its the least I can do" he said smiling at the other, picking up a mint stick and nibbled on it.

Keahi set down his cup and frowned slightly, suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable. He had totally forgotten about that, and, had he remembered, would not have eaten half so much (or the drinks). "Er, no, that's not necessary."

"It's fine, really, I have far to much money, I dont go out so I never exactly spend it, I have nearly a grand sitting in my bank that I havent tocuched for like five or six months. I get given money by friends and I get paid and I dont go out, I have everything I need at the Estate, so I have money I never even use or wont ever use.

Belive me, this wont even put a dent in my bank acount concidering I get intrest each month also, I need to spend money, if I dont spend it on my friends then who can I spend it on? I dont mind really." He said smiling at the hybrid, not about to take no for an answer, why would he? He DID say it was his treat after all, with so much money in his account it could do him well to spend a bit of it.

Floored - just a bit - by Blythe's off-hand rambling about his finances, Keahi's mind froze up. Only for a moment however, and once he recovered, he shook his head. Smiling, and in an equally friendly tone, he said, "Truly, I can't. How silly of me to forget before, but... to take money from a packmate... would be unseemly. You understand?" Still grinning, he raised the cup back to his mouth.

Blythe smiled at the other and took a sip of his dring "but is it not better to accept money from a packmate that you know and trust then accept money from say a coon or a unicorn who might be untrustworthy?" He asked the other, his stubbornness raring its ugly heard once more.

Keahi stared at him blankly and blinked once or twice. "I wouldn't take money - or anything - from a stranger, if that's what you mean." Not sure what Blythe was trying to get at, he shrugged. "I am perfectly capable of paying, and intend to... no offense is meant by it, but it's final: two checks."

"I will go one better" he said to the other getting up and walking over to the counter and asking to speak to te owner an waited.

The owner walked out and looked at who asked for him and then grinned before walking around the counter and wraped his arms around Blythe "its so good to see you! How have you and your brother been?" He asked the buttercat as he let go of him.

I have been great, after leaving here its just gotten better thanks to Lenore" he said as he lent back on the counter.

"Great to hear it, so, what can I do for you?" He asked as he looked at the hybrid.

"I was wondering if I could take you up on that favor and let me have my meal and my friends meal free" he said as he gestured over to their table.

"Of course I will and you dont have to use that favor up either, its the least I can do for an old friend" he said smiling at the other. "Anytime you want something to eat, you and your brother and a friend or two are always welcome to eat here for free.

I owe you that much" he said as he moved back behind the counter "come see me befoe you go, I want to give you something, but right now I have to get back, please excuse me." He said as he left and went back into the kichen.

Blythe was curious about what he had to give him but shrugged it off, he would see when he went and he walked back to the table and sat down. "Taken care of" he said smiling at the other "I had a feeling he would let me eat here for free, always had ever since my brother and I started working for him.

We might be able to pay our way but he always hs given us free food no matter what we wanted or however much we ate, it was always free" he said as he picked up his drink and took another sip.

Keahi frowned slightly, wondering what the buttercat was trying to prove. Obviously no matter what he had to say on the matter would hold no sway over Blythe. Whatever his aim, when the fox-firecat was finished with his drink, he ordered and consumed nothing else.

Blythe wasnt trying to proove anything, he just was stubborn and wasnt about to let his friend pay for the food and drink he consumed when it was originally his treat. But if hewanted to pay he would just get the owner to scratch their check, was it THAT wrong? He just wanted to do something nice for a friend, true he went over the top and to the mangerment.

But meh,, as stated, he just wanted to do something nice, nothing wrong with that is there? "I just have to stop and get something from him on the way out" he said still wondering what it was "I just am now horribly curious as to what it is."[/img]

Keahi remained silent on the subject of their disagreement as there was no point in arguing. By 'him,' Keahi assumed that Blythe meant the owner. He was not sure why the buttercat had not just taken it now? It sounded like he wanted to leave soon now anyway. "All right," he answered with a nod, naturally curious about what 'it' was, though not really caring either way.

Idly, he wondered what he would do after they left. Would he stay at the shop, or look for his father and tell him about this new acquaintance, and member of their pack? The fire caught his eye and he turned to look at it with a quiet smile.

It wasnt that he wanted to leave soon, if anything he wanted to stay with the other as long as possible, he just thought he should tell him that he had to pick something up on the way out. It was better to tell him now instead of having him wait and wonder why they were stopping at the counter right?

"I...I guess I should apologise, my stubbornness got in the way again" he said as he picked up a mint stick and nibbled it "I just wished to do something nice, you saying no, I guess my stubborness got the better of me. Im sorry" he said sincerly at the other, looking up and smiling softly at him as he nibbled the stick.

Keahi turned back from the fire and his thoughts when Blythe spoke. He smiled. "I suppose we have that in common, don't we?" Stubbornness however, they had for different reasons apparently. He was not sure why Blythe had not just said so before, though that was part of the problem with stubborn people. They aren't always good at explaining their reasoning before an argument, and the rare person that could after the fact. "Don't worry about it. I understand."

This one though, would have to be approached cautiously. Once he had an idea he would stick with it no matter whether he was right or wrong. As the son of a pack leader he felt it necessary to think this way. In the future, how would he be persuaded this way or that? Surely not through reasoning or laying out the truth. What then?
