My good friend Mur Lafferty can keep you all squared up against writer's block with her daily blog entries at the Murverse.

Basically:
Mondays: character sketches
Tuesdays: settings
Wednesdays: maguffins
Thursdays: scenes
Fridays: general ideas
Saturdays: first sentences
Sundays: anything goes

I suggest the podcast I Should Be Writing as well to those of you who need something other than music to break up your normal inspiratory tracks.

Thanks for the great links ! ^^

I'm currently using the Prompts link.

Oh, I've heard of Limyaeel... she also has a LJ so that's how I learned of her.

You've got Google listed there, but I'd also suggest Good Search:
http://www.goodsearch.com/

Basically just another search engine (powered by Yahoo, if I remember correctly), but this one allows you to enter the name of a charity, then donates money for each search. So if you're doing a bunch of searches, you might as well use this instead of Google and help someone else out along the way.

I was just about to mention Write or Die.
Surpised it took that long. XD

Unsure how many of these have been posted...

Word Processors
- OpenOffice: http://www.openoffice.org
- AbiWord Word Processor: http://www.abisource.com/
- Q10: http://www.baara.com/Q10

Names
- Hippie Names
- Fantasy Name Generator
- BehindtheName

Script Frenzy!'s Plot Machine comes up with some pretty good plot ideas.
Fantasy Novelist's Exam is super helpful.
Fantasy World Building is good too, 'specially if you failed the exam. XD

And if I could be so kind as to toot my own horn here for a second...
NaNoWriMo Cookbook, which features our own radioactive alchemist AND some pretty awesome recipes if you're too tired/too lazy/too far behind on your word count to actually slave over a meal. 8D

I second the NaNo forums. A lot of help can be found there. If you're ever in the area, feel free to pop by my profile (my username's DM) and add me to your writing buddy list. ^.^
And I second GoodSearch. I search for Spirit Communications (owners of one of my favourite stations), and The Office of Letters and Light.

TVTropes is a collection of tropes from TV, literacy, and other medias. A trope is a literary devices which writers use and readers are familiar with. Tropes are NOT cliches. Every story ever written has tropes in them.

This website is great because it has cataloged so many TV shows, books, movies, ect. that we writer can learn from and recognize. You can also read about each trope, which can give you ideas on what to write.

It's deffiantly a site worth checking out while formulating your ideas. It'll change the way you think about stories.

The Happy Notes - Daily Inspirations For Writers

It is my blog (so this is partly shameless self-plugging) and every day, I post a random picture, suggested listening, a prompt, a quote, and a little blurb meant to keep you a happy, healthy, sane writer. The sole purpose of The Happy Notes is to help, so I hope it does.

Duotrope Digest should be on every link list ever created for writers. It's basically a search engine of genre-specific e-publishers and print publishers - it includes information on what they're looking for in terms of submission length, how much the payout is (the range is from no payment to professional payment, which is about $0.05 per word) and when the deadline for submission is.

There's also a poetry search engine for the poets out there who are looking for a place to print. And even if you don't get paid, a publishing credit is a publishing credit.

I used this for my research proposal (24 pages of convincing the school to fund my project) this semester, and it worked great! Pictures of kittens make almost anything better. biggrin

HDWP Kickstarter!

I'm getting published! The publishing house that picked me up is looking for new authors and artists. They have a Kickstarter running to fund free content too! It's a ton of fun! Please check it out, and pass it around.

The publisher's main site.

We need more published Gaians!

Love that site, but it is anti-productive to me. I loose whole days on it.
