~ ~ ~

This thread is made to be a continuation of our "Medieval War" roleplay. Due to a change in many people's schedules, along with the loss of a very dear member, we felt it best to start over and allow for a little more change.

Rules

1. What one character says to another character is not how the poster really feels about the other poster. Remember, this is a roleplay. If a character's personality is cold and unfeeling, he's going to act that way. Please no whining about characters acting rudely.

2. No swearing. At all. This is a guild rule as well. If you have a foul-mouthed character, you don't have to repeat exactly what he said. "He cursed out loud." is a good sentence for those cases. (In medieval times, you weren't supposed to curse when ladies were present anyway. 3nodding )

3. No god-modding. People bleed. You can't avoid every blow. That makes things unrealistic.

4. No killing other characters without permission.

5. This is a literate RP. Usually there is a one-paragraph rule, but don't get crazy with that. If there's not much to say at the moment, don't make up a whole bunch of stupid stuff just so that you have a paragraph. But please do write at least three sentences per post. Do NOT PM me your profiles, I will be gone for a little while and don't want to be the hold-up. I have created a thread for profile applications of which I will choose another member [.L.O.S.E.R.] of the guild to be in charge of until I get back.

6. Romance is fine, just keep it clean. No kissing or anything beyond that. Yeah, I'm a prude. Deal with it.

7. Have fun! Put your own style into your writing and make things interesting. The storyline is simple to allow for plot twists and creativity. Just don't do anything like, "Suddenly an angel came down from heaven and told everybody to stop fighting and we all held hands and sang 'Kumbayah', or however you spell that."

Storyline

The Kingdom of Maisone is a fairly large one. Surrounding quite a few acres of land, the castle gates are large and made of expensive marble. Outside the castle gates reside the lower-class peasants who are considered almost wealthy by peasants in any other kingdom. The castle itself houses the royal family, one hundred servants, and an army of 3,000.

The Kingdom of Jahrr stands as the second wealthiest kingdom of the era. It has about five acres less of land than Maisone and a significantly smaller army. However, their defense systems are the best in Europe and the army, albeit small, is more loyal and better trained.

Despite the mighty defense system of Jahrr, Maisone has set its sights on the lesser kingdom and wants to extend its rule. War has recently been declared, and the fighting has begun. Previous to battle, the two Maisone princesses, twins, were kidnapped by Jahrrian raiders. This sent the Maisonian king into a fury, for his promised daughter was not able to be wed before her kidnapping.

The initial attacks on the two kingdoms brought much devastation, but following raids and battles are of no comparison, and the kingdoms are building themselves back up, each preparing for riding out and "holding down the fort." Maisone has already taken a hit, however, as a few of their soldiers became traitors to try to join in with the Jahrran enemy, which no one has taken to lightly.

As the two kingdoms rebuild and prepare themselves, it is up to you, dear roleplayers, to decide the fate of the two kingdoms, will they become one? Or will they fight to the complete death?

Maisone Characters

Gaian Name: [.L.O.S.E.R.]

Name: Merewyn de Maisone

Age: 17

Position: Princess, one of the first daughters of the king

Personality: Merewyn is quiet and gentle, unlike her twin, Ismeine.

Appearance: Merewyn is identical to her twin sister from head to foot. Only a small scar residing above Merewyn's left brow separates them. She stands at a height that is average, if not slightly shorter, for a woman. Locks of red hair fall to her waist, and light freckles dust her pale cheeks under bright green eyes.

Gaian Name: [.L.O.S.E.R.]

Name: Azalia

Age: 15

Position: Merewyn and Ismeine's personal servant.

Bio: Azalia is an orphan. Her father was a blacksmith, and died of an illness when she was small. Her mother, also a servant, died when Azalia was twelve. For the most part, she enjoys working for the princesses.

Personality: Outgoing at times, but she knows when to shut her trap. She likes being outdoors, but most of the time she has to be inside working.

Appearance: Blonde hair, blue eyes, average height for a woman.

Gaian Name: Jewlz2007

Name: Scarlet

Age: 18

Position: Servant, Kitchen duty

Bio: Scarlet's family were very good friends with the royalty of Masione. Her mother died when Scarlet was young, and she grew up in her father's care. When he went to war, and news came of his death, Scarlet was devastated. The royal family took Scarlet in to be a servant of the Castle and to live there as well. She earns a small wage.

Personality: Caring and sympathetic, she can be gullible at times. Scarlet is obedient to those above her, and likes to hum or sing while she is working (if no one is around to hear her).

After the kidnapping: Scarlet was part of an immediate search party for the princesses which had turned up no luck. She was not punished for going out into the woods (first RP) and continues her work as usual.

Appearance: Scarlet

Gaian Name: [.Mikomi.]

Name: Azure(pronounced Ah-zoo-ray) Fieldsman

Age: 15

Position: Assistant Cook

Bio: Azure's parents were farmers, some of the best in her village. She was always excellent at cooking, and her food, along with their crops, was her family's source of income. Rumors of her cooking ability reached the castle, and, with the King's permission, the head cook invited her to become a cook's apprentice in the castle.

Personality: Modest and shy, Azure tries to stay out of people's way. She tends not to take recognition for her food. She'd rather help someone else look good in the king's eyes than for herself to take credit. She's always willing to help someone in need.

Appearance: Large, azure blue eyes; her namesake. She has long, raven black hair that is usually tied back in a bun, with bangs framing her face.

Jahrr Characters

Gaian Name: [.Mikomi.]

Name: Ame(pronounced Ah-may) Cooper

Age: 16

Position: Lady Knight (aka Dame)

Bio: Ame's dream had always been to become a knight. She knew what consequences there would be if she did become one. She went through with it anyway, and is now in her first year of knighthood. She's a fairly good hand with a sword and bow.

Personality: Ame is strong-hearted, and intelligent. She's quiet, a lady of few words, but isn't afraid to stand up for herself, the result of being a female knight. Although she acts like she doesn't care, she does get depressed on occasion from everyone looking down upon her. She won't run away from a fight, and will protect those she cares about. She is also extremely loyal to her kingdom and her God.

Appearance: Short, black hair that is level with her chin and a pair of blue-gray eyes that always have a fire of determination in them, with an overshadow of sadness. Ame wears a set of blue armor(breastplate, shoulder guards, armor skirt, leg guards, elbow and wristguards) over a simple white shirt and skirt. She wears calf-high boots. When not in armor, she wears a shortsleeved shirt under a light blue tunic, with black breeches and her same boots.

Reference Sites

Here are some good reference websites so we're all on the same page as to how life was in the medieval ages. You don't have to read everything, but it's a good reference point if you're writing something and begin to wonder if it would make sense in that time period. There are tons of other sources; feel free to research on your own if that's what makes you happy. Let me know if you find something good and I'll post it in here!
