Kira yawned and slowly stretched, sitting up in her bed and blinking the sleep from her eyes. What had she done last night again? Oh yeah, the party! pushing the covers off of her, she jumped out of bed and opened up her closet. "Morning Lestat!" She chirped happily to her new friend as she found the boot where she was keeping her journal. She wanted to write down the evening's events before she forgot them. Lestat, her new companion, was hanging upside down on the closet, sleeping.
Kira happily settled at the head of her bed, leaning up against the wall, and opened her journal, a smile on her face as she wrote.November 1, 2007 Dear Journal, Last night was amazing, I never knew this place would actually throw a party, much less a Halloween party! I made a lot of new friends there, and even got to see Hayden again! I was a bit disappointed that I didn't see Dr. Hakan, I still haven't heard back from him about when I can return home. I have faith that he'll tell me soon though. So, I was dressed up as a bride last night. I tried to do bride of Frankenstein's monster, but I couldn't get my hair to stay up, no matter how many times I hung upside down to dry it and lather the glue/gell mix on it. I feel bad because I had to borrow a dress from here, and I ended up ruining it, though no one seems to mind or care. I made two really nice friends, Anya and Fenrir. Anya is really young looking, but she's extremely sweet. She apparently gives all of her friends nicknames, and I was dubbed as 'Angel'. She seems a little off balance though, and she falls a lot. I hope she doesn't get any serious effects because of it.... Fenrir on the other hand, he's a really nice guy. He's 16, and he's a kick to be around! A real life of the party. He's a Pokemon trainer from Lavender Town. I remember going there with my mom and dad when I was little, but just vaguely. It was one of the few times mom actually went researching with dad after I was born. It's a shame they tore down the Pokemon Tower, I would love to have gone back to there and revisited those memories again. Anyways, I really liked hanging out with Fenny, my nick name for him, and I can't wait to see him again. There was one more exciting event that happened last night, wild Pokemon got into the party! I ended up bonding with my first Pokemon ever, a Zubat. I'm so excited, I've never held a close relationship to a Pokemon before. I named him Lestat, and he sleeps in my closet for the most part. Fenny was nice enough to warn me that wild Pokemon aren't allowed in the building, so I'm going to have to keep him secret. It shouldn't be too hard though. Kira smiled and shut the book, getting up and opening the closet again, dropping the pen and journal into the boot and scratching Lestat behind the ears. "I'll shower, then I'll go get us both some breakfast, alright Lestat?"
The little Zubat chirped sleepily, then tucked it's head in it's wings. Kira laughed softly and closed the door, ready to start her day

Spliced - Cronus #026 -- Kira Hiromi Be interesting to see how the happy one deals with her changes, eh? Err, right, back to the report. Subject #026 has exhibited the following physical changes thus far: webbing forming between fingers, possibly toes (unknown at this time); light scaling spreading in patches over skin. Behavioral changes will be observed and documented at a later time

Kira lay in bed, trying to sleep in for once; she'd gotten to bed late the night before after spending a long time in the shower. It was strange, lately her skin had been getting really dry, especially around the shoulder and back area, and for some reason she always felt dehydrated. She'd been going through water as if it were going to dry up at any time, drinking over 8 bottles of it per day, and she'd been feeling really weird around water. She was, for some reason, suddenly getting the feeling that she was being pulled towards the water, even though she was absolutely terrified of getting into pools of water; she couldn't even take a bath without hyperventilating for the first 5 minutes.
Giving a groan and scratching her shoulders, she muttered unhappily for once; she could feel her shoulders were dry and apparently cracking from what she could feel with her fingertips. Sitting up, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes, standing up and trudging to the bathroom once the motion detection lights flickered on. Lestat fluttered by her, keeping out of view of the cameras. Kira paused only a moment when she reached to the doorknob to the bathroom door. "Huh... what a funny dream...." She muttered to herself quietly, thinking that she was seeing things in her half-asleep state.
Kira didn't even bother looking into the mirror as she turned on the shower, making sure that the plug was in so that the water wouldn't pool up in the tube-like bottom. If she HAD looked in the mirror, she more than likely would have panicked at the sight she'd seen. Stepping into the shower and drawing the curtains around her, she smiled and let the warm water rush over her body, waking her senses.
Closing her eyes, she enjoyed herself, letting her muscles relax and the sleepiness wash away from her. Sighing, she opened her eyes, then froze as she reached to the soap, staring with wide eyes at her hands. "What..... what is this....." She squeaked, out. "Am I still asleep? What's going on?!" She quickly got out of the shower, and the instant the water was off, she heard a man's muffled voice.... at least it sounded like a man, but it was something alien and on and off almost like it was a bad radio.
"WHO'S THERE?!" She demanded, grabbing the toilet plunger and arming herself. She breathed deeply, slowly stepping into her room and looking around for the owner of the voice, which had suddenly disappeared. She hadn't heard the door open or close so the owner of the voice had to be somewhere in the room. Quickly she checked the closet, pushing clothes aside until she could see every corner; nothing was there. Stepping back, she strode over to the bed, crouching down quickly, plunger still in hand.
"HAH-you're not here either..... Hmmmm." She got up, looking around, wondering if maybe she'd just been hearing things. The only other living thing in the room was Lestat, and he would have attacked anything that came in if it was going to hurt her. Turning her attention back to her hands, she walked into the bathroom. "Ok, maybe I'm just going insane; first these weird things that are CLEARLY an illusion, and the the voices- HOLY s**t!" She yelled out, staring at herself in the mirror. She... she had SCALES.
"Oh... oh god......" Dressing as quickly as she could, she ran into her room and slammed down the button to the intercom. "Please! I need Doctor Hakan! I have scales and really creepy webby things on my hands!" She pleaded to the man on the other side of the intercom.
"I'm sorry, but he's currently busy at this time. We'll inform him about this... interesting request though."
Kira just stared at the intercom. Would they really tell him? What would the doctor think if he saw her like this; probably that she was a genetic freak. Kira made her way to the bed and sat down numbly, then curled into herself and cried softly. What was happening to her?
