I remember when I first started playing, forgot what set it was but the first pack I bought I got a mirari.
I used to put that in everything, I mean, who can deny the copy of a spell for 3? That wasn't another spell so you could re-use it?

XD For me it was a Skeletal Vampire. It was one of my first FNM's before Timespiral came out, and I was playing a BG Rock deck. I ended up playing the mirror match against a guy who actually had a lot of the cards I was missing, anyways we both had one game, and we were getting down the the last strings of life. He had a ton of guys out, (Hyppie, Bob, Grave-Shell Scarab, Kokusho, ect.) And I had just enough blockers for him to chip me away 3 each turn with me losing a blocker each turn. He finally attacked with everything I kill Kokusho, and lose a lot of blockers to kill the ect. stuff. I top deck into Skeletal Vampires and chip him away for the win. (Cause with 10 mana open you just go into chump block mode with the bats.)

Mine would have been:  While it's difficult to play, it's a pretty potent creature for only 1 colorless mana. And in a mono red deck, it would always be a nice drop on 7th turn after attacking with a pair of Ball Lightnings.

He wasn't my first powerful card, but he was the reason I why started playing MTG. Marrow Gnawer. He was my favorite card from the moment I first saw his preview and that hasn't changed yet, nor will it.
No single card card can match his token generation... And outside of infinite loop combos involving squirrels or what-have-you, even multiple cards can hardly match him.
