Just because some players have a low amount of patience for playing doesn't mean that some of the higher casting cost cards are worthless.

Lets look at high CC cards that have mad leaps in STANDARD!
Bogardan Hellkite, not just in DS Tron AND angelfire Akroma, Angel of Wrath, not just in Solar Flare, Angelfire and some UW decks. Triskelavus, Trisket-tron Boom//Bust, in Angelfire
Now lets look at the X spells that are usually pretty big Demonfire Spell burst
The conclusion, we like High CC spells, however we like them giving us either Control or read Win the game with this card alone. Akroma's Memorial does neither.

I never said it was good, I just said it could win someone a game.....maybe.

Barren Glory was made simply because everyone liked The Cheese Stands Alone. It is not made to be a good card in constructed, it is made to be a fun card in casual. Lord knows that if I could find a good group for multiplayer, I would run Barren Glory as my win condition.

Quote: Just because some players have a low amount of patience for playing doesn't mean that some of the higher casting cost cards are worthless. Its not players that have a low amount of patience; its players who have a low amount of tolerance for running terrible cards in their decks. Obviously SOME high cc spells are good, as Psychatog pointed out, but they win the game or gain complete control of the game for the caster. If you can tell me one way that Akroma's Memorial does either of those, I will concede this thread to you.

It's because it makes you army better than your opponent's army by a long shot, which is many times what you are racing to do in limited, and the fact that you can attack and defend with your creatures in limited wins you games. However, in constructed, it does suck donkey testicles, as it is not the same kind of competition that limited is.

After all the Bridge decks I've seen, that seems to be a pretty good card. I must say, Glittering Wish can be amazing. You're already playing green, which is the perfect color to get the other color lands out. You can get ANY gold card. There are just too many possibilities with that card. The memorial is only a joke for my favorite combination.
