Vartan stoped and looked at the mare. She was so tall."Sorry about that Sol."He looked to Nyx."Um...My name is Vartan.Yeah....He told me all about you.So i asked him if i may meet you."Vartan looked at both of them."So Nyx what are you around here?"He just walked to ask some questions.

Nyx tilted her head in question at the smaller creature. "What am I? I'm not sure I understand... If you mean my official function, yes I suppose I'm head of this herd. Other than that... well I'm pretty normal I suppose. Were you interested in joining up with us for a while?" Perhaps she ought to have given herself more time to wake up before coming out to talk to these two, she wasn't sure she was following the red Bae at all.
Sol pawed briefly at the ground and glanced between the other two Nequus feeling suddenly a bit redundant. He'd brought Vartan to meet Nyx... now what? Perhaps the Aeri would want him to show the curly-maned Bae around the place if he did choose to join up. As often as not she did this herself but just in case she did want him to do it, the horned stallion decided, it was best for him to stay where he was. He could go and continue his training later in the day; for now he might be needed for something and so he would linger.

Sol smiled at the other stallion a bobbed his head. "Aye, I am quite well thank you Vartan," he assured the Bae, dipping his head to nibble at the grass. For now at least his input wasn't needed and his morning of exercise had made him rather hungry.
Nyx smiled down at the vivid-coated Nequus. "Well, welcome then Vartan. Nothing particular will happen per se but if my lot know you're one of us they're more likely to be open, friendly and willing to share grazing space with you. There aren't any big rules of the herd, most of its common sense. Don't harass anyone or cause any fights are the main things."
The splotched Aeri yawned and gave herself a shake. "You can explore by yourself if you like or one of us can show you about," Nyx informed the new member of her herd. "Looks like you've seen the river already," she observed with a smile, looking at Sol's wet legs and belly.
The dark-eyed Ichsa smiled and nodded. "Aye, I was just taking a rest from my training when Vartan happened upon me. I should be quite happy to continue showing him the sights of the valley if it would be of use Lady Nyx." The tendril-winged Nequus glanced over at the red Bae, ears pricked attentively foreword for some opinion on the matter.

Nyx smiled and bobbed her head. "Good, off you two run then; I've things to be doing this afternoon. Enjoy yourselves boys." With these words, the splotched mare turned aside from the pair of stallions and set off towards the river at an easy trot. Drink first, set abut duties later. Perhaps she would have time to ask after Vartan later in the day, perhaps not. Either way she trusted Sol to show him about.
Sol watched the leather-winged creature trot away from them for a moment or two before turning back to the red Bae beside him. "Well then Vartan," he smiled, "we would do well to be moving. There is much to see and only so many hours before the sun sets; I should like to give you a basic idea of the sights before that." Though whether or not that would be possible depended upon his companion's speed and endurance... "Still; if it takes a full moon's turn it matters not," the Ichsa went on. "The valley will not leave us just because we take our time over exploring it."

Sol smiled down at the Bae for a moment before turning his dark gaze on the land about them. "This part of the valley, and the rest of it to the best of my knowledge, is very much like this," the Ichsa said. "A few gentle rises, patches of tree, bushes and longer grass dotted about in this rich greenness with the river and its tributaries running through all."
Sol turned his attention back to Varten and smiled again. "I have seen many places more impressive than this valley but none as bountiful nor as peaceful. It is a good, kind land to live in and I am told that the grass is plentiful even in the months of winter. Truly a paradise for our kind."
He wished he could have shown this place to the owner of the feathers he wore in his mane. The stallion sighed to himself and shook his head; such longings were useless. His foalhood playmate was gone or dead and thinking on him wouldn't bring the other stallion back.
"Come," the dark-eyed Nequus said, shaking himself from his thoughts and setting off at an easy walk. "I shall show you some of the sights there are to see."

Another nod from the slender stallion and a smile were the initial answer both to the Bae's questions and to his statement. "Aye, 'tis a good land and the sooner seen the better. If we time it right we might be able to see the sunset from the council mound. Most of the time anyone can go there but it takes its name from the meetings Lady Nyx holds there with her advisors and the elders."
He'd watched the proceedings from a distance once and been put vividly in mind of his own herd. Suddenly, starkly he had felt a colt peering through the bushes at the leaders again and had almost seen black feathered wings out of the corner of one eye. He and his foalhood friend had loved to listen in on the politics they didn’t understand and then come up with their own solutions to the problems raised. Sol smiled internally; those had been good times.
"Let us be gone then," the pale Ichsa said with a slight smile setting off at an easy walk. "We have much to see and not much day to do it in," he commented to the red Bae, "if you would set the pace good sir I shall match it."

Vartan bobbed his head up and down with a smile also."A sunset?I wanna see one of those.I see."Vartan watched him.He snifted the air and looked around."Alright."walked off with him."I see that because in a little while the sun will be going down. Will do so."Vartan went a good pace for him to match up with.

The pale stallion smiled down at the smaller Nequus. "Then a sunset you shall see my friend," he said with a nod of his long-horned head as he set off beside the red Bae. Today, Sol decided, was a good day. He was getting stronger again, he'd met a new friend and was currently being useful which was one of his favourite things to be. The Ichsa warrior smiled again and turned to face the rolling green of D'ob that spread out before him like a verdant carpet of opportunities. To fight for folk who needed help was something he had done as long as he could recall. It was good to be able to do good without shedding blood for once.
